The blog for books and movies

Percy finds himself battling demons that won’t die and suffering from near-total amnesia. He does not remember who he is, where he is from, or why these crazy un-killable baddies keep attacking him. Some instinct pulls him strongly toward a camp, where the goddess Juno awaits – but something isn’t quite right. Percy is a Greek demigod, and this camp is for Romans! Percy must join forces with the Romans, while rediscovering who he is and, afterwards, bringing the two people, Greek and Roman, together to prepare for battle against the mother of all goddesses, Gaea, who is raising a force of evil to crush the world. Can the Greeks and the Romans set aside their bitter, centuries-old rivalries to work together? Will the gods stand by their demigod children or let them face Gaea’s minions alone? Will Percy every gain all of his memory back? The Son of Neptune is about new friendships, burgeoning strengths, overcoming self-doubt and setting aside prejudices to fight for the larger good.

  1. I have read all of Rick Riordan’s books so far and they are amazing! I love all of them and I’m waiting for some of them to come out. The Son of Neptune is a part of the heros series and it’s the second book in the series. In this book Percy finds that the demons don’t die and he has lost his memory and sent to a different camp. Jason and Percy have switched camps and they have to be able to get along with the other campers if the want to save the world (again)!!

I have read all of Rick’s books so far, and they are all really good, with a great story line and heaps of fantastic new characters to get obsessed with!
But I particularly enjoyed this series.
    The ‘heroes of Olympus’ series
Although I read this book quite a while ago, I can still remember how I could not put it down! I would get up each morning, and the first thing I would do is read about Percy Jackson and his friends! I finished it in about 3 sittings, it had me hooked!
I really enjoyed it and I can hardly wait until Mark of Athena comes out later this year!
Its a perfect balance of adventure, mythical and romance, that would suit any type of reader.
My favourite characters are Annabeth and Leo. Annabeth is just so smart and great and defending herself, and when she was on the quest by herself, showed great courage. And leo, who doesn’t love leo? A guy with a magical tool belt and can make pretty much anything! What not to love?
So anyway, I really enjoyed this book espically to anyone that is a fan of the percy jackson series and kane chronicals, this is a must read.
    I defiantly recommend this book.

I loved the Son of Neptune and all the other Heroes of Olympus, Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles books. I liked how Rick Riordan wrote about greek, roman and egyptian mythology in his books because it just made them that much more interesting. I really enjoyed learning about different cultures through the books. I would recommend the Son of Neptune to any one who would enjoy reading something just a little bit different to all the other books, but you would need to read the Percy Jackson series first then the Heroes of Olympus just because give some important details away before you get to read it.

I have read all of the percy jackson books so far and this one would have to be one of my favourites! I love the story line, the problem solving and the emotion rick riordan scribbles across the pages. The best bit being the final battle and the anticipation of seeing Annabeth again! With the mixture of Greek and Roman mythology this book is definitely a stand alone form the best. If your looking for action, adventure, laughs and romance I would definitely recommend this book, but I would also suggest to read the others first so that you can understand the story. I rate this book a 10/10!!!!! 😀

  6. The Son of Olympus by Rick Riordan
I would recommend this book to anyone who read the Percy Jackson series and enjoyed it or anyone who read the Kane Chronicles. I loved this book because I really enjoy reading fiction and adventure books. I can relate to Hazel because she returns to a place she used to live before and I have returned to Geelong after living overseas. I like this book but not as much as the one before it. The reason being that the first book is more Greek mythology whereas this book has more Roman mythology. I would recomend this book to people 10 and up.
