The blog for books and movies

Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?

Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated.

Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

But what if they can’t quite nail a first date . . . or a second first date . . . or a third?

What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work . . . and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?

What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?

But what if it is?

  1. I recommend a book called ‘What if it’s us.’ This was a very nice read and by the end I wanted more, I really enjoyed reading this book. It tells the story of two teen boys who meet at a post office in New York, but before they could exchange details a flash mob comes in and separates them. This book alternates points of view between each of the boys, Arthur and Ben. Arthur who has moved to New York city as an intern at his mom’s law firm, and Ben, who is recovering from a recent break up. This story begins with Arthur trying to find Ben, the cute boy he met briefly, and follows along with what happens after they finally find each other and connect. I loved this book just because it is very much a book for my age group (teen romcom), I liked how it dealt with real issues of today. Such as coming out to your friends and having to deal with people not accepting you for who you are. It included pop culture references which I liked and were relatable and it also had comedic aspects within it too. I recommend this book to ages 14+ just because it includes curse words, sexual references and some drinking and drugs within it too. But saying that there were also nods to positive messages about the LGBTQ community and people being supportive of it as well.
