The blog for books and movies

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

If anyone had told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real.

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Constantly on the edge of your seat, Alice in zombie land is a captivating novel which makes you want to read more and more. This story follows Alice a young girl who’s immediate family has recently died and she moves in with her grandparents. All her life she has never been allowed out at night because of the monsters lurking around hungry and ready to kill. That all changes when she meets Cole. The gorgeous guy with violet eyes, who personally is one of my favourite characters. She learns she is a zombie slayers and joins his team to save lives. This novel displays the message of identity that you can find yourself even when you’ve faced a traumatic experience. I love this book and it honestly makes you want to live the fantastic, dangerous, romantic adventure that Ali Bell is on. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants an adventure with some mature romance scenes. Overall, I would give this amazing book a 10/10.

“My father was right the monsters are real…”

Alice Bell is a normal ordinary teenager, with one not so ordinary father. Her father knows of the evil that roams the earth. One night the whole family is killed expect Ali. With no family left, she starts a new life, with her grandparents. The zombies are real and others know it too, Ali joins Cole’s gang known as the ‘zombie slayers’. How close do the zombies end up getting to her?
I love how much detail the author goes into it helps set the scene and it feels like your there, watching it play through. I love this series so much I think I have already read it 3 times or more. It’s a great series I really recommend Gena Showalter to anyone looking for something new to read.

  3. In this book series, we follow through Alice “Ali” Bell’s point of view in books 1-3. The series is an exciting paranormal novel about zombies and only Ali and her group of zombie slayers can stop the zombies before it’s too late. I love how the author goes into detail, like in the first few chapters she describes what’s happening so it paints a picture in your head so you can visualise when reading the book/s. I recommend this series of novels to the ages 13+ because there are mature themes.
