I watched this movie on year seven camp. It is an amazing, the story tells us to never give up even when things are looking down. The movie is about Michelle paine and the challenges she faced to become the first woman to ever win the world cup. My favourite part is at the end when she wins the cup and becomes the champion. I would really recommend this book to horse lovers of for those who want to make a difference. I would give this movie a 8/10.

  2. I watched this movie at year 7 camp, and i was honestly expecting to forget about this movie, but i really enjoyed it. I love how its based on a try story and takes place in Australia. It was such a heart warming film, and I’m surprisingly glad the teachers forced us to watch it. I think this movie is perfect for all ages, a really good family movie for parents to watch with young ones.

Ride like a girl is a really interesting film. It is a true story about Michelle Paine, who is a jokey. The movie has a really powerful meaning behind it. The movie tells us that you don’t have to be a man to do great things, girls are just as good and can do things just as good. I think it’s important that young people know that we are all equal and we are all capable to do the same things. I know this happens still today where people think that girls cant do some of the things men can and this movie really shows that that isn’t true. Anything is possible. I recommend you watching this if you haven’t its worth the watch.

  4. Ride like a girl was definitely an interesting film. Though I enjoyed the film ride like a girl felt like it went for very long, and it didn’t have great pacing. The actors were all amazing, but the film could have been a lot more than it was. And I feel that it should have gone deeper into different parts of the story and many parts of the film felt unnecessary or simply quite boring. The story behind the film is incredible but the film could have been so much more than what it was. I would only give this film a 6/10 mainly for pacing but not the storyline.

Ride Like a Girl tells the story of Michelle Payne’s wining ride on Prince of Penzance in the 2015 Melbourne Cup. Directed by Rachel Griffiths the movie shows the obstacles and challenges Michelle faced to firstly become a jockey and then to go on to the point where she was successful enough to win the Melbourne Cup in a male dominated sport. One of the most inspirational things I found with Michelle’s story was off the racetrack. The way her family dealt with the tragedy in their household but somehow kept their passion and dreams for horse racing was amazing to me. This film is one every young Australian girl should watch.

I really loved watching Ride like a girl. It was an inspiring story of girl power and never giving up on your dreams. Michelle Payne is the youngest child of 10. Because she looked up to her family, Michelle wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a jockey. She faced many challenges competing in a dangerous sport. Including falls and losing people she loved. And how even though she is faced with many setbacks she continues riding and ends up becoming the first woman to win the Melbourne Cup. This movie is great for any age and is perfect if you are looking for an up lifting story to make you feel inspired.

The movie Ride Like a Girl is a true story about Michelle Payne, set in Regional Victoria. Michelle is surrounded by horse riders, as her family is very passionate about riding. This movie explores the morals girl power, equality, and aiming high to achieve your goals. Her family help shape her into an amazing horse rider, and help her achieve her life-long goal, to win the Melbourne Cup. It follows highlights the struggles girls go through just to be at the equivalent level as men. She overcomes the prejudice of being a female jockey in a mans world. With challenging obstacles in the way, such as family tragedies, and mental challenges, nothing stops her from creating history, whilst riding the horse Prince of Penzance. I highly HIGHLY recommend this to EVERYONE, as we all need to hear the story of Michelle Payne. I rate this brilliant movie a 10/10!!!

This movie is about care for one another and about empowering women. It has demonstrated never giving up! During the movie Michelle gets split from the boys as she is the only girl in the competition therefore no one thinks she has the guts and motivation to win, Will she proove everyone wrong and win the Melbourne cup? I think its a great movie for any ages but especially girls!

  15. This is a great and really inspiring movie, that promotes girl power and fights against gender inequality. This movie is based on the true story of how Michelle Payne, an Australian Jockey, became the very first women to win the Melbourne Cup in 2015, riding Prince of Penzance. Michelle, the youngest of 10 children, was raised by her father Paddy. She had always dreamt of being a winning jockey as a child, and, aged seven, told friends she would one day win the Melbourne Cup. It is the story of how Michelle overcame many obstacles to achieve her dreams, and how she turned from that ambitious seven-year-old to the winner of the 2015 Melbourne Cup. My favourite person from this story would have to be Michelle’s brother, Stephen Payne. Stephen actually plays himself in the movie, and I believe that he provides a lot of humour and comedy into the film. I truly believe that this is an excellent movie to watch for all ages, due to the important morals of aiming high to achieve your goals, the theme of gender equality, and the overall uplifting spirit of this film. I recommend this film for all ages, and I would rate it an 8/10.

ride like a girl is such an amazing movie, about girls and empowerment and how you don’t have to be a man to do and achieve the things you love to do, such a great movie and if people tell you that you can’t do something prove them wrong and it doesn’t matter what race, gender, age or religion you are as you can do anything you wish to achieve if you truly believe and put your mind to it. I would give this movie a definite 10/10 as it proves girls are just as good as guys and to never give up.

  17. I loved ride like a girl, it was about two of my favourite things… sport and girl power. It is a true story about Michelle Paine, who is a jokey. she is one of 11 and all of her siblings are jokey’s! Michelle found it hard at first but after weeks of hard work eventually got into the Melbourne cup, like everyone told her she wouldn’t be able to do but she won like she told everyone she would. I Recommend this movie to anyone that likes true movies and woman empowerment, I think anyone that is 8+ should watch this because some of the content may be hard for a young person to understand and interpret.

I love Ride Like A Girl!! It’s an incredible, inspiring and really enjoyable movie. It is based on the true story of Michelle Payne who was the first female Melbourne Cup winner. The movie is truly inspiring and it shows that girls can do anything. It is really emotional and very sad at some parts of the film. It also has plenty of hilarious moments. My favourite character was Stevie, who was played by himself. He was an incredible, heartwarming and hilarious character who always lightened the mood. He was never put down by his down syndrome which he joked about occasionally. Overall, the movie is really inspiring, moving and a definite must-see movie.I rate a 9.8/10!

I would recommend this film to young coming of age girls because the film is based on a true story and revolves around equality and how girls can make their dreams come true. It is a very inspiring movie about a girl, who dreams of not only racing in the Melbourne Cup, but winning it. However, she struggles to be noticed, girls are overlooked and irrelevant, they are seen as weak compared to the boys but Michelle is determined to prove society wrong, with the help of her family and friends she works toward her dreams as a professional jockey.
