The blog for books and movies

Aelin Galathynius’s journey from slave to king’s assassin to the queen of a once-great kingdom reaches its heart-rending finale as war erupts across her world. . .

Aelin has risked everything to save her people―but at a tremendous cost. Locked within an iron coffin by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin must draw upon her fiery will as she endures months of torture. Aware that yielding to Maeve will doom those she loves keeps her from breaking, though her resolve begins to unravel with each passing day…

With Aelin captured, Aedion and Lysandra remain the last line of defense to protect Terrasen from utter destruction. Yet they soon realize that the many allies they’ve gathered to battle Erawan’s hordes might not be enough to save them. Scattered across the continent and racing against time, Chaol, Manon, and Dorian are forced to forge their own paths to meet their fates. Hanging in the balance is any hope of salvation―and a better world.

And across the sea, his companions unwavering beside him, Rowan hunts to find his captured wife and queen―before she is lost to him forever.

The perfect end to a perfect series, following on from tower of dawn a book not really focused on the main story line, bringing to light the troubles that the rest of this world is following and the amount of distrust, some new characters from this previous book becoming heroes. The love that Rowan has for his wife and mate and trying everything to retrieve her, the horrendous maniac that Carrin and Maeve are and the fear that controls that whole world around them. This book is one of my favorites and anyone who has read it would agree that this book is of literary mastery. I absolutely adore this series and a series as good deserves no less than an ending book like this. This book follows on from the ending of empire of storm (BUT DO NOT SKIP TOWER OF DAWN) which ends on a MAJOR cliffhanger causing the beginning of this book and the whole story, to be one of the best books that i have read, Sarah J Maas is my favorite author for nothing other than the reason that i love all of her characters, she knows how to make someone fall in love a character and therefore the story, that is reflected perfectly in Kingdom of ash. I highly recommend this book and this series to EVERYONE.

  2. I recommend Kingdom of Ash, the seventh book in the ‘throne of glass’ series by Sarah J Maas. My favourite part of the book, is when Aelin, Rowan, Aedion and the rest defeat Maeve and Erawan. Another favourite part of the book is when Aelin gets away from Maeve’s torture and sees Rowan, Aedion, Chaol, Yrene, Lysandra and her other friends. My least favourite part of the book was when Aelin was getting tortured. Even when she got away and was back with her friends, she didn’t believe it was real due to the torture Maeve gave her. Another least favourite part of the book was when Aelin let go of Dorian to sacrifice herself to make the lock. Even though, in the end, Aelin didn’t die because she ended up bargaining with the gods, i didn’t like it how she had to give up her mortal body. This left her with no where near as much power as she did before and leaving her in her Fae body 24/7. My favourite character in the book would definitely be Aelin, with Yrene and Lysandra close behind. All three of them are all so selfless and always put others in front of themselves. If i could change something in the book it would definitely be that Aelin didn’t have to give up her mortal body and her power. It would also be that she didn’t get tortured by Maeve. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy and magic. I also would recommend this to anyone who wants an epic finale to the series.
