This book is an exciting and fun book! It is about a little boy who lives with his grandma, his grandma tells lots and lots of stories about witches. The grandma also tells the little boy how to tell if somebody is a witch and some signs from them. When the little boy’s grandma gets sick they go on a holiday! They are at the hotel and then, there is a group of witches! And I’m telling you witch’s LOVE little kids! But nobody knows where they go! They just disappear! What is the little boy going to do now?! This book is a very fun read and I’d recommend it to everybody!

She tells him what to look out for and how you know who is a witch and who is not. His grandma gets sick and is under strict orders to go for a holiday and just rest. The little boy finds a MASSIVE group of witches and hears all their plans. He tries to quietly creep away but they find him and are about to………… To find out you will need to read the book!!!
This is actually one of my favourite books and I read it so many times when I was young. It has such great fantasy and keeps you on the edge of your seat! I recommend this book to kids about 9, I think it will suit kids around 9 (can be younger or older doesn’t really matter)

I loved this book so much!! The story is about a little boy and his grandma. When witches come to their hotel they are in for a shock!! Witches hate children and so the grand witch of them all makes a plan to get rid of them forever. They both go through so many ups and downs, running into all sorts of problems but they work together to get through them. I really enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend this book if you haven’t read. I would rate this book a 9/10. This story is filled with adventure everywhere!!

The Witches is about a little boy who lost his parents, so he goes to live with his grandmother. She tells him stories about a girl who goes missing. And she also tells stories about witches who are taking people. Eventually Luke (the main character) gets taken by one of the witches. But in the end Luke is reunited with his Grandmother.
The witches is another one of Roald Dahl’s classic books. Although I read this book when I was a little bit older. I would probably recommend this book to year 7 and up. Because the story Luke’s grandmother tells about the witches and the girl that goes missing, is a little scary. But I think that it sets the scene for the rest of the book. The witches keeps me on the edge of my seat every time that I read it. I also love the illustrations, they really add to the book. Overall I really love all of Roald Dahl’s book, but this one of my favourites.

I really enjoyed reading “The Witches”. It is one of the many wonderful books by Roald Dahl and it is one of my favorites so far. The story read by the Grandmother to her Grandson Luke, of the girl who went missing was quite scary. The girl was stolen by the Witches and was cursed, the family had been searching for the girl who was eventually found in one of the paintings on the girls’families wall. Her picture within the painting eventually vanished and remained a mystery.
My favorite character was Luke, the young boy who featured as the main character of the story. He has many wonderful characteristics including being, curious, intelligent, brave and protective of his Grandmother that makes him the hero of the story.
“The Witches” is a book I recommend to those who like mystery, adventure, and happy endings.

this really grabbed my attention. then when i watched the movie, i realised that they are not too different but they do discribe the witches slightely differently. but overall i love this book. it has adventure for the little boy. and it might be scary in parts of the book, but still. if i could rate this book i would rate it a 7/10

The Witches is a really great book. I really enjoyed all the books written by Roald Dahl but this is one of my favourites. It is about a boy who lives with his grandma because he loses his parents. The witches are a bit scary in my opinion. They wear wigs and gloves to cover up their bald heads and long fingers. I rate this book 10/10.

The witches is a great book!! Roald Dahl has so many great books and I think this is one of his best. The book has beautiful pictures!! It is a fantastic read and great for all people. It can be a little scary for really young kids, but it would also be too hard of a read for young kids. I would say that kids 10+ should read this book! It is engaging and you will love it so much!!!! It is the kind of book that will keep you entertained for a whole afternoon!! It is soo creative and the concept is so interesting that you will love it!! Please read this book if you haven’t because it will make you smile with every page!!!! It is soooo good I will give it a 10/10!! I really enjoyed this book!!

The Witches written by Roald Dahl, is a fantastic book. The book is about a young boy and his grandmother tells him lot’s of history about witches. When he went on a vacation with his grandmother his worst nightmare occurs! They find out that this hotel is where the witches have their meetings. I wont say much more because you’ll just have to read the Witches to find out!
I really loved reading this book, II found it very interesting. Ive read it several times and love the part when the boy first meets the witches. Once you’ve finished the book, why not get a snack and watch the movie! It’ is fantastic! Once youve read the book and seen the movie its great to compare.

This book was magical! I really liked all the characters apart from the witches. The whole story flowed really well and I loved the ending even though it was sad. It was a very creative story and I loved everything in it. I felt like I was part of the story. I just can’t say how much I loved this book and I rate it 10/10

‘Witches’ by Roald Dahl is one of my favourite stories, I still read it now and get caught up in the wonders of it. It is about a young boy named Luke and his Grandmother, Helga, they stay in a hotel but soon find out that there are witches staying in the same hotel as them. Luke listens in on their grand plan to make everyone into mice and soon becomes the hero of the story, except in the end he becomes a mouse but realises that its not so bad. Luke’s grandmother, Helga, is very kindhearted and would do anything for her grandson.This book is fun and adventurous. I would recommend it to children aged 7-12. I give it a 9 out of 10.

I loved reading The Witches as a child. One of my all time favourite Roald Dahl stories. It is an unrealistic tale, but still a classic. It’s about a little boy whose Grandmother tells him all about Witches. Then the boy starts noticing witches all around him. It’s creative, funny and very well written. I would recommend this to anyone that has enjoyed other books written by Roald Dahl. I would also rate it an 8/10.

The witches is one of my all time favourite books from when I was a kid, although I did have a few nightmares after reading this novel. I found this novel so intriguing and full of surprises, this novel is really cute and about the adventure of a young boy who meets these witches, i don’t want to spoil the rest but its worth having a read, I loved it! I rate this book 9/10 and recommend this novel for ages 8-13.

This is one of my favourite books! i have read it over and over again! The book is so descriptive and easy to understand! Roald Dahl is one of my favourite authors because the way he writes is amazing. I defiantly rate this book a 10/10. It has got some scary, funny and emotional bits in it. It doesn’t matter if you only like to read comedy or action because this book has got it all! After every chapter it is left with a cliff hanger and just makes you want to read on. All the way through this book you just want to keep reading there is no one bit that i found boring every bit was a real nail biter! I defiantly recommend you read this book!

The Witches written by Roald Dahl, is a fantastic book. The book is about a young boy and his grandmother tells him lot’s of history about witches. The young boy and his grandmother go on a holiday and stay at a hotel where witches are staying. While staying at the hotel the boy starts to notice witches everywhere he goes. Then the boy is in the middle of the Grand High witches meeting, but he is hiding. He knows what the witches are planning to do to children and there evil plans! Will the boy escape and put an end to these nasty plans, or will the witches find him. I would recommend this book to children of all ages. I rate this book 8/10.

This book is a thrilling and nail biting read. i would say that ages 10 and up would enjoy it but it might be a bit easy for some older teenagers and adults. I think that when the witches turned into mice all the others guests at the hotel would have been terrified. i enjoyed this book lots and think that many of the characters were interesting and unique. I thought it was quite amazing when the high witch was described taking of her mask and thought her even uglier in the movies. overall i would give this book a 10/10 because i couldn’t find one things that i didn’t enjoy about it.

I love this book so so much! I would highly recommend it to boys and girls. It is about a little boy and his grandmother in the summer holidays when they go on holidays and stay in a hotel. There, the little boy begins to remember what his grandma told him about witches and he ends up seeing some from his very own eyes! This book will defiantly make you nervous and excited at the same time in many parts. I have read it 3 times now and i might even read it a 4th because it sucks you in right from the very beginning and you won’t be able to put it down. After you have read the book you can hire the dvd. It is even more nail biting 🙂

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is a hilarious tale of a young boy who gets caught up in the world of the Witches. As he undertakes a physical and emotional transition he knows that he must do all that it takes to stop the Witches from killing all the children all over the world. With the help of his Gran, he begins to form a plan to stop them from carrying out their dreadful plan. A friend also comes into the picture to help them with their schemes. I would recommend this book to everyone. Roald Dahl is a children’s author so this book might be one you would like to share with a younger sibling.

This book has a great story line and it was fantastic going thorough the mouse life of the boy ! My favourite bit would have to be when the grandmother gave the boys friend back to his parents as a mouse. I thought that was sooo funny ! I would recommend this book for people 9+

I would recommend this book called the witches written by Roald Dahl.
The witches is about this boy and his Grandmother who are on Summer holidays. The Grandmother is teaching her grandson how to recognise witches, but a bit of a hiccup happens along the way and the time that they are staying at the hotel.
My favourite part was when the boy was easdropping on the grand high witches conference because i was attached to the book and i couldn’t put it down!

This Book Is Awesome! About a seven year old boy, who is one day sent to live with his grandmother due to the loss of his parents! His grandmother tells him loads of history about Witches. It is after that that the little boy soon starts to recognise witches just about every were that he goes. I love this book because it is funny and adventurous. When the boy goes on holiday with his grandmother it is that he makes a horrific discovery! The boy is in the middle of the Grand High witches meeting, but he is hiding so they will not find him. The Witches is a fantastic novel by Roald Dahl. It is a book filled with action and magic.
The book is about a young boy who lives with his grandmother, who tells him phenomenal stories about witches. At first he doesnt believe them, then after a close first hand experience, he believes her. For a holiday the boy and his grandma go to the seaside. There, he overhears the witches devising one of the worst plans to kill all children in the world. The witches catch him and test out their theory on him. Luckily he escapes and together with his grandmother, they get rid of the Grand High Witch and all the witches in England.

I think more people should read Roald Dahl, he doesn’t just write kiddy books for really young kids, (well, some are) but The Witches is AWESOME!!!!!! It is so funny, and I love all the traits/features/habits that Roald Dahl came up with for the witches in the book, they are absurd, funny, weird, and some of them are DISGUSTING!!!! (Not really)

I would recommend this book to kids aged anywhere from 7-12, it’s good for all ages.
I would rate this book a 8/10 because one problem is that it ENDS!!!!! And another is that it’s pretty complicated.
But that makes a good book, I guess.

The Witches: Roald Dahl did a great job with this book. This is probably my second favourite book written by him, after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The Witches isn’t a challenging book, it’s more of a fun sort of book. I liked the part where Luke actually finds out about the witches. I love his reaction to it all. If I ever found out that witches were real I think I’d be pretty scared.
It’s a great book and suitable for any age really. I’d definitely recommend it to people who have read any Roald Dahl book and ENJOYED it !

I have read a lot of Roald Dahl books and this is easily my favourite. A young boy lives with his grandmother, his parents are gone and she is all he has left. It is the story of this boy going along on this incredible adventure including witches, blue spit, bald heads, and many more wacky idead. Just whole idea of the witches is crazy and the story is amazing. i suggest you read this because you will fing yourself laughing, cringing, squinting and sometimes even praying that nothing bad happens. Give it a go and you will LOVE IT!!!! easily 10 out of 10

Roald Dahl was always a wonderful author- and The Witches is no exception! The book is quite enticing- Often forcing you to read “that one last chapter” before you go to bed or do your homework. The illustrations add a splash of cheer to what is actually a rather strange book, even with a little scary stuff- for a kid.
I really enjoyed this book- I found it very interesting. I have read it several times and love the part of the book where the boy first meets the witches. After reading the book. why not grab some popcorn and watch the movie? It’s really good and rather interesting to compare the book and the film.

The Witches a fantastic book written by Roald Dahl. This novel is about a young boy who goes to live with his grandma after his parents die. His grandmother told him many stories about witches and what to do when you see one, while on holiday, he discovers that the hotel he is staying at is functioning a big meeting with all the witches from around the world. He gets into a scary situation and finds himself as the guinea pig of a very horrible experiment.
I would recommend this book for everyone and all ages. It is a classic book and it is written very nicely. This books takes your imagination far and beyond everyday life.

This book is so intersting. It has a great story line. This is the only book I’ve ever read from the Roald Dahle. It is very smart the way he puts such great detail into text. Roald Dahle is a true auther.
The book is about a young boy who parents die. So he goes to live with his grandma. Who tells him storys about witches and how they were normal clothes and live normal lives. But what scares him the most is that witches hate childern.
When the boy’s grandma gets sick they go on a holilday. Where little did they know the grand witch was there with every other witch in the world. Well when the little boy goes into a big buniness room and then all of a sudden about 200 witches come walking in and well read it to find out what going to happen

oald Dahl is my favourite wrighter and has been for ages. This would have to be one of my favourite books because i love the storyline and the way it was written. The witches is about a young boy who’s parents die so he has to live with his grandma. His grandma is an expert on witches and what they look like so she decides to tell him some stories. His grandma becomes sick and they decide to go on a holiday. At their hotel the boy runs into some witches and tries to escape but is unsucsessful. You will have to read the book to find out the ending. I highly recomend it to anyone that wants an easy but enjoyable read.

Roald Dahl is one of my favourite children authors! I just the the way he describes things with great detail. If you like books where you can let your mind go absolutely any where and on a wonderful adventure full of gasps, excitement and humor then this book is defiantly for you. Dahl just paints a picture in your head and makes you keep reading and reading, on and on and on!

This book is fantastic and beautifully illustrated by Quentin Blake. It is an easy read and I promise that you will not be able to put it down. It is funny, scary and sad. You should definitely read this book! I would recommend this book to children aged ten to whenever. I would give this book a 9 out of 10.
