Long ago Once-ler chances upon a place filled with wondrous Truffula Trees, Swomee-Swans, Brown Bar-ba-loots, and Humming-Fishes. Bewitched by the beauty of the Truffula Tree tufts, he greedily chops them down to produce and mass-market Thneeds. (“It’s a shirt. It’s a sock. It’s a glove. It’s a hat.”) As the trees swiftly disappear and the denizens leave for greener pastures, the fuzzy yellow Lorax (who speaks for the trees “for the trees have no tongues”) repeatedly warns the Once-ler, but his words of wisdom are for naught. Finally the Lorax extricates himself from the scorched earth (by the seat of his own furry pants), leaving only a rock engraved “UNLESS.” Thus, with his own colorful version of a compelling morality play, Dr. Seuss teaches readers not to fool with Mother Nature. But as you might expect from Seuss, all hope is not lost-the Once-ler has saved a single Truffula Tree seed! Our fate now rests in the hands of a caring child, who becomes our last chance for a clean, green future.

This movie is helpful in learning about the environment in a fun and educating way. Suitable for children as well as adults. This movie teaches the basics and the moral of the story is that cutting down trees is not ok as we can’t live without them.

I love this book so so much, I always watched it as a kid. I love the message behind it about the environment that the animals want to save. Dr Seuss is an amazing writer because the piece shows true messages and stories that affect the world. I like how he learns that he has done the wrong thing which can teach others not to do what has happened in the past. This book would suit ages 3+ because I think it is a book for anyone to enjoy no matter what age. and I would give this book a 10/10 because it is a great book for anyone to read.

I really love this book because it has a really good message as it encourages people to look after the environment. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves Dr Seuss rhymes. The illustrations are so bright and fun. This story holds a huge moral that will make you feel eager to take action in order to save the environment. It is a nice, fun and easy book to read. Its very entertaining to a younger audience however it is a really gorgeous book for all ages. I would also rate it a 9/10.

Dr Seuss is a fantastic author he writes amazing books that have been turned into movies the lorax is my personal favourite. This book makes the story line seem not as dark andsad as it should be. my honest opinion is i think that could possibly happen to our world in a couple of hundred years.

I think this is an outstanding book. It shows the awful truth about the trees but gave an amazing solution and ending. I love how the writer writes this book as you never know what could happen next leaving you wanting to hear more. I think this is great for little kids imagination and their vocabulary to grow as the words are always rhyming. I recommend this book to anyone that loves an interesting fiction book.

Dr Seuss, in the book ‘The Lorax’ has beautifully captured a horrific story of the truth behind what is happening to our environment as we speak and the confronting outcome that we will be sure to see if we keep cutting trees down at the rate that we are going. It is a nice, fun and easy book to read and is enjoyable to young children. It is a creative and most importantly is an important story that all should have read. Just as the book, the movie is also creative and interesting for all ages. I defiantly recommend both the picture book and movie!

Apart from its message about the dangers of greed and the threat to the fragile environment, it doesn’t aim very high visually or technically. But it’s entertaining, colourful — and it doesn’t overstay its welcome. its a really well done movie !! its full of beautiful colours and its very entertaining to a younger audience. id recommend it to all ages yet i would also rate it a 10/10, my favourite dr seuss movie

I loved The Lorax. it is my all time favourite Doctor Seuss movie/book. It sent out a really good message about the environment and how important trees are to our land. My favourite part of the movie is when Ted plants the last tree. Many of the residents of Townville did not realise how important trees are to our environment. I would recommend this movie to age 5+ and I rate this a 10/10.

This book is just adorable! i received a copy for my 7th birthday from my grandpa and it has been one of my most precious things ever since. It is about keeping our environment healthy and sustainable whilst still being a happy fun book for kids who might not be able to under stand the true concept. The illustrations are so bright and fun. They are gorgeous and colourful cartoons that explain what is going on just as well as the words but in Dr Suess’ unique fun way. I love this book and the message it sends, i would recommend it for just about anyone of any age!

The Lorax, written by Dr. Seuss, is a wonderful children’s book with a very important message about caring for the environment and making this a priority over making money. I like how this story is told, mainly through the eyes of The Once-ler who realises the error if his ways. What I also liked about this book was the creative characters such as the Swomee-swans, the Brown Bar-ba-loots and the Humming-Fish. My favourite character in this story is the Lorax because he speaks for the Truffula trees and tries to warn the Once-ler about the damage he is causing. I definitely recommend this book to all children who are fluent reads or for parents to read to younger children.

While it’s brand is aimed at children, The Lorax has an important message to be learnt by all. Dr Seuss has found a way to weave one of the biggest global issues into a fun, family-friendly story book to be loved by all. In The Lorax, we heard the story of the Once-ler and how he cut down trees for the production of the ‘Thneed’. The Once-ler explains how he cut down too many trees, and the result of pollution he accidentally creates. There are many lessons to learn from this book, and Dr Seuss cleverly explains it in a way that educates and engages all ages, even being able to be understood by young children. I recommend this book to all ages, as it has a valuable lesson to be learnt.

The Lorax is a great read and can make you feel sad, angry, inspired and it can make you laugh. The Lorax shows us how we can sometimes be tricked into believing our powerful and persuasive leaders know what is best for us when really their only intention is to earn money. We can see this when the people of Sneedville are stripped of their real environment such as real trees being replaced for plastic trees. This is all because of a man called Aloysius O’Hare who inherits huge amounts of money by selling the public ‘fresh air’. Although a young boy steps up and says he wants a real environment because the girl he likes has a love for truffula trees, following a romance story as well. He goes through a series of challenges to try and change his environment. This story holds a huge moral that will make you feel eager to get up and do something to change the way people today treat our environment. I highly recommend this book and if you’re not a book person defiantly watch the film!!

Dr Seuss always has marvellous reads, and the Lorax is no exception! The story follows the Onceler, a man out to sell his product. What he doesn’t realise however, is that because of his production, the environment is slowly getting worse and worse. The Lorax (a strange, small creature) pleads with the Onceler, trying to get his to see the consequences, but the Onceler does not listen. Inside the book is a wonderful, important and deep message. One we must remember. The Lorax is a lovely, if short, read, and one I would definitely recommend to younger audiences, as well as older students. I know that this book is a brilliant representation of protecting the environment, and I strongly recommend it.

The Lorax is a really great colourful book. It follows the story of the Once-ler who is trying to make a thneed. He finds the perfect material to make it, the tuffs of the truffula tree. He causes the world to become extremely polluted and drives all the animals away. Throughout the whole journey the Lorax, who speaks for the trees, tries to warn him but it does not work. Even though this may be a kids book it conveys a very important message. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not.” I definitely recommend reading this.

I have only seen the movie version of the Lorax and it is hilarious! This story also has a strong heart-felt meaning of the importance in caring for the natural environment we live in. The Onesler arrives in the forest of Truffula tree and uses their soft tufts to make Thneeds. His business become successful and finally all the trees are gone…This is a wonderful story and really makes you compassionate about saving our beautiful Mother Earth. 10/10

This a gorgeous book for all ages and i really thought it was cute as. Oneday a man goes to cut down a tree. Then the lorax appears. The lorax is the protector of the trees in his forest and tells the man to stop chopping down trees. The man keeps going anyway. The message f this story is about global warming and how cutting down trees can affect our planet. I would rate this book an eight out of ten because it has a good message and i thought it was pretty good.

This is a very cute book, I got this from my dad, he used to read it all the time when he was younger. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves Dr Seuss, rhymes and a bit of a laugh. This book also sends a very important lesson, not only to not cut down trees but to also if no one cares a whole lot about something nothings going to get better 🙂 I rate this a 9/10 and recommend this for anyone

I haven’t read the book but I saw it at the movies over the holidays with my sister. I didn’t enjoy it that much. It was a bit confusing for me but she really liked it. My favourite characters were the little bears and the dancing fish, they were really funny. I would recommend this to someone 3+ because they would really enjoy it because it was kind of funny and it had heaps of colour.

I saw this at the movies, I enjoyed watching it, but I didnt really enjoy the plot line of saving a tree, but it was cute. It is a good example to teach young children about the importance of the environment. My favourite characters were the little teddy bears because they were extra extra cute. I would reccomend this book/movie to anyone 3 + because it can teacher anyone some rules about the environment

I love this book. It has such meaning of protecting our rainforests, because they are the lungs of our Earth, to save the animals that live peacefully in them. Dr. Suess knew exactly how to tell this to little children, and older ones too.

The lorax is a great way to get a message across to children in away they enjoy. Using rhyming and clever words to appeal to littler people. The person who is causing all the issues is the onceler who has no care for the environment or anything. My favourite part of the story is where the onceler makes a thneed that can be anything you would like. The problem he has caused is that he is using natural environments as his source to making his millions. I would recommend this book for all ages as i am still not sick of it and ive been reading it for many years.

This is a great book, it was read to us in class in year 7, Its demonstrates The effects on wiping out one thing, its an easy way of learning what would happen , for instance,
Some one Cuts down all the gum tree’s This would mean all the kolas die,
Its sorta like a forever going problem, and teaches us that every thing is important,

this is an enjoyable book with a strong moral, although something seems to work for you, sometimes you are destroying something alot more important, nature. When eveything dulled and went, the atmostphere was terrible there was no eco-system. This book had a very strong effect on me, as I feel very strongly about nature. I would definatly recommend this book (to any age)

This Dr.Seuss book is a great example of what happens when the environment is destroyed e.g The sky was a beautiful blue and the swany swans fly by but the air became polluted and the swany swans left and the sky became a dark and dull Grey. This was done by the oncelar as of his bad decision just to make money but money does not bring you happiness. The Lorax tried telling the oncelar what damage he would be making and who’s homes he would be destroying but he wouldn’t listen. After making all these bad decisions he wished he had never done the damage.
