  1. This rom-com stars both Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds who play the editor at a New York publisher and an assistant, respectively. Andrew Paxton has slaved as the assistant to Margaret Tate, hard-driving editor at a New York publisher. When Margaret faces deportation for an expired visa, she hatches a scheme to marry Andrew – he agrees if she’ll promise a promotion. A sceptical INS agent vows to test the couple about each other the next Monday. Andrew had plans to fly home that weekend for his grandma’s 90th, so Margaret goes with him to Alaska – where Mom, Dad, and Grams await. Family dynamics take over: tensions between Dad and Andrew, an ex-girlfriend, Andrew’s dislike of Margaret, and her past test the next few days, with the INS ready to charge Andrew with fraud. My favourite part about this movie is when Margaret has Kevin the dog and is trying to get back her phone from the bird. The character has to be Betty White as Grams, her character is very humorous, and has many funny lines. This movie is recommended for those who love watching rom-coms, and for an older audience as there are some mature themes.

  2. This is literally one of my all time favorite films! Its so funny and the characters in the film are so well done! Its about a pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her visa status in the U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada. It has the best ending, so definitely a must need to see movie!

This is a rom com you just have to watch funny witty and Betty White makes the whole film 1000% better. Sandra Bullocks character works at the publishing company and has made her career her top priority and is therefore disliked by her work colleagues. When faced with the possibility with deportation she asks her secretary to marry her. They have a hilarious relationship of back and forth shenanigans as they try to trick people into thinking they are an item. The movie is adorable and so loveable in so many ways an will having you on the edge of your seats begging that they get together. I would recommend 10/10 a must watch a very good rom com so all ages.

  4. The Proposal is a fantastic comedy and romance. The protagonist, Margret (Sandra Bullock) is in the editing business, and experiences a massive challenge as she is threatened to be deported to Canada. Within her workplace, she is seen as stubborn, difficult and disliked. However, in order to stay, she sets her eyes on her assist, Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) to marry. However, he has a few requirements. This is a fabulous movie that follows their lives and documents the challenges that they face. I would highly recommend this movie to people ages 13+ and those who enjoy watching a good rom-com.

  5. This movie is a rollercoaster of romance. It starts off with Margaret Tate, a successful business woman and her assistant Andrew Paxton. Margaret is not very well liked as she can be rude and blunt. She is controlling and generally not a nice boss.
When her visa to stay in the United States expires, she doesn’t know what to do. She fakes an engagement to Andrew to stay in the US.
When she meets his family and stays with him for a few days however, the two realise that they actually love each other.

This movie is very feel good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good rom com.

I just recently watched the proposal and really liked it. It is about corporate manager at a media company who is threatened to be exported out of the country, but if she is married or engaged then she doesn’t have to leave so she forces one of her employees to marry her or he loses his job! He reluctantly agrees and takes her to back to his home in Atlanta for Christmas. At the start of the weekend they hate each other but slowly start to get along and fall for each other. At the time of the wedding she feels bad and decides to ditch it. He chases after her and they get married with a happy ending. I loved this movie and it was quite funny. If your looking for a romantic comedy then definitely watch it. I really liked how she was so rude to him at the start because it was funny. 10/10

  7. The Proposal would have to be one of the funniest romantic comedies I have ever seen. The story line is so cliché, but none the less it was hilarious. My favourite part of the movie was when Margret drove the boat at full speed through the lake / river, and then just stopped steering a let Andrew drive. As a result she fell out of the boat, which created for a very funny scenario. My favourite character was Andrew, because you could tell he was in love with Margret and was willing to do anything to help her, even if it put him in danger. The character I didn’t like was the man from the place where you get a visa, because he just seemed a bit rude the whole movie, and still refused to accept that they loved one another. I would recommend this movie to anyone about 14, and I would rate it a 9.5/10.

    The Proposal – Movie.

The Proposal is also another great movie that involves comedy and romance.

Margaret Tate played by Sandra bullock is about to be kicked out of the country and pack to Canada as of her expired visa. Don’t wanting to leave she blackmails her assistant Andrew Paxton played by Ryan Reynolds into marrying her.

This movie involves drama and comedy throughout the movie. This is a movie that you can watch over and over again while always laughing without it getting old.

My favourite part of the movie is when she is with Andrews Grandma and dancing and singing ‘Get Low – To the window to the wall’ around the fire. This scene is hilarious and so entertaining.

I loved this movie and rate it 9 out of 10.

  9. I love this funny movie with it’s hilarious characters that make you able to watch this movie again and again. My favourite part is… I can’t really decide between the scene where the grandma and Sandra Bullock’s character dance around the fire in the middle of the forest/bush singing ‘Get Low’. My other favourite scene is at the very end when the Grandma fakes to be dying in order to get the protagonist’s together. My favourite character as you can tell by my favourite scenes is the grandma, she has great intentions and knows more than people think she does about the situations that arise, and has great ways of brushing of problems and doing what she likes. I recommend this movie to people at this school because i think everyone would love it!! 10/10!

  11. I would certainly recommend the proposal. I really enjoyed this movie because it is funny and romantic. I like the middle part when they are at the parent’s house and they have to do all those things like kiss, and pretend to sleep in the same bed. My favourite scene is where Margaret is dancing around the fire with the grandma and she’s slapping her bum in front of Andrew, and she doesn’t realize that he is there. My favourite character is the grandma because she looks so sweet and innocent but inside of her she has lots of character and is high spirited. I rate this movie 8/10 — because I didn’t like the mushy parts. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys funny and romantic movies.

  12. The Proposal
This funny movie is so great to watch and is really good for a variety of age groups. It stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Renolds and is really easy to watch. You opinion of people changes rapidly through out the movie and you go through waves of liking and disliking people. The story line is interesting and unlike any other movie I have seen before. The best part about this movie is the humor. In so many parts through out the movie there are lines and quotes that have you laughing endlessly. Because there are so many different character in the film, everyone would be able to relate to at least one of them. It features a boss from hell, a wedding, a business man, concerned parents and of course a dog. This pretty much means that there is really something for everyone. I don’t have a favourite character but I never do. They are all really likable at one point or another and it is a sun movie to sit down and watch with family or friends. I would recommend it to anyone 10 to 60. Everyone should give this movie a go at least once.

My favourite part of the movie was when Margaret found Grandma Annie dancing around the camp fire and she joined in and ended up making up her own song that was really funny and when Margaret fell out of the boat i couldn’t help myself from laughing. I could watch this movie over and over again and i wouldn’t get sick of it. i loved the little puppy he was so cute. i would rate this movie a 100 out of ten it was sooooooooooooooooo funny. I would recommend this movie for people aged 12 and up because it can be a little bit yucky at times. If you enjoy a good comedy movie (and I’m sure everyone does) then this is a great movie for you. Especially when they hand Andrew and Margaret a blanket they call ‘the baby maker’ I laughed so hard at the scene. But My favourite part of the movie was definitely when Margaret and Andrews Grandma were dancing I had to find out the name of the song after it and get it. This was a legendary movie that I could watch over and over again.

  16. i would reccomend the movie the proposal becuase i found it to be a really amusing movie. It’s about Margret and Andrew, andrew works for margret and no one really likes her. She was going to be deported to Canada becuase her visa had run out and the only way she could keep her job and stay in America was to get married and she forced her secretiary Andrew to pretend like they were married. Andrew was very family orientated and margret ended up going awy with him and his family. Margret ended up becoming very attched to them as did andrew to her, the end of this movie is really good and i highly rate it.
