The blog for books and movies

He is a Legend.

She is a Prodigy.

Who will be Champion?

June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic—and each other—and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government’s elite circles as Princeps-Elect, while Day has been assigned a high-level military position.

But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them: just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country’s defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything.

  1. What a great end to the Legend series !!! Going into this book I had no idea what the Author Marie Lu was going to do to finish off the whole story in one book but she did and it was one of those things I loved and hated at the same time !! It has so many twists and turns and things I did not see coming. I believe that Day and June have the best love story ever made and that was the main reason I kept on reading the book because I couldn’t get enough of it. It made me laugh, bawl my eyes out, fill me up with happiness and had me on the edge of my bed wondering what will happen. Not only does it have a soft romantic side but it also has action and it is set in the future, so it is really cool to see Lucy Lu’s ideas and predictions which I personally would hate for them to be true! If you have read the other 2 books or just the first one you NEED to finish it because it is a nice ending that made you feel complete. Once you pick it up you can’t put it down and I am so glad the series ended the way it did because it was really nice, but I wish there was more !! 10/10 !!

  2. Once again this book is probably the best book I have ever read, every page comes with a new twist and when you think “surely there can’t be more” trust me there is more, this book will leave you angry, sad, happy and excited causing very severe mood swings so I recommend reading with tissues without your journey with June and Day. This book took me a few days to read and I wish I could go back and read it slower because I didn’t want it to end and now that I have finished I go through every possibility there is on what will happen next? My favourite part of this book was probably the last few pages, that was also the part that I hated the most because it meant it ended. I will warn you the last 5 or so pages I recommend tissues because it is about to get emotional. When I read the last few lines of the book I immediately flipped the page wishing that there was more to explain to me what just happened but unfortunately I was left sitting on my bed, a sobbing mess with the book in hand. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that is brave enough to go on an emotional roller coaster with June and Day.

  3. The final book to an outstanding trilogy Champion is an amazing, gripping and thrilling read! Marie Lu has written these books so well and has managed to never create a dull moment. June and Day continue to build their relationship and both of their unique personalities create such rare chemistry that you can’t help smiling at their connection! This novel constantly has new elements added creating a new dimensions to the story and making it even harder to put down! Unlike the other books, Champion has a different sort of style. It is softer and has a more understanding touch to it. This is a good change to the rapid movement of the other two novels. I feel in Champion you get to really understand Day and June and really see their weakness that were covered up in the previous books. Both characters relate to each other and create such an accepting environment between the two of them which is so necessary after all that has happened between them. This book deserves another 10/10 because of the amount of depth that Marie Lu has intertwined into it. I recommend this for 13-14 or above readers and urge anyone to read this amazing trilogy for the sheer quality of the writing and the complex characters. Do be prepared though for unstoppable tears throughout the last 50 pages and really bad post-Champion depression (haha)!

This book is just outstanding, I got so sucked into it. I read it in just 4 days but with the other books I read them in about 4 weeks. l REALLY enjoyed the love triangle between June, Anden and Day. I give it a BIG 100 OUT OF 100 I wish there was another book. If there is I will be the first to read it. Day’s passion for his family and for June is so raw, and he is willing to lay his life on the line for their safety. I know people that can relate to his undying loyalty and love for his family.

  5. In a nutshell, this book is probably the best I’ve read all year.
This book is written SO WELL, every time I picked it up, I was sucked into Day and June’s world. I couldn’t stop reading!
My favourite character would have to be, again, Day. He is just so real, so human, and he wears his heart on his sleeve for the whole world to see. His passion for his family and for June is so raw, and he is willing to lay his life on the line for their safety. I can relate to his undying loyalty and love for his family,
And yet June is such a strong female heroine. Even though everyone seems to be telling her what to do and what to say, she doesn’t let anyone push her around. She isn’t afraid to stand up for her rights, making her the perfect role model for any girl. It broke my heart to see her so sad and so alone after losing the Day she knew. Her love for Day is so real, honest and innocent, and never wavered once. The person she was with Day was worth being. Although I am guilty of being REALLY entertained by the love triangle between her, Anden and Day.
This book was full of action and the twists in this novel were heart-stopping. But unlike Legend and Prodigy, this book had a really gentle, pure and loving side. The end will make you cry (well, it made me cry..) I wouldn’t change this book at ALL. Outstanding!
