  1. Saving Mr Banks was a very sweet movie and I enjoyed it a lot especially because I love the story of Mary Poppins so much! It is the background story of the making of the film Mary Poppins. It shows you all the difficulty that P.L Travers and Walt Disney went through to create the fun, wonderful Disney movie of ‘Mary Poppins’. My favourite part in this book is when P.L Travers realises how forceful and stern she has made Mary Poppins. It is like she was caught up in her all little bubble until she realised that it didn’t all have to be so strict… She could learn to have fun again! I did like Walt Disney’s character in the movie as he was always cheerful and did whatever he could to get Mary Poppins on the screen. A beautiful family movie for all ages! 8.5/10!

  2. I recommend the movie, “17 Again” as it has a great message about families and responsibility. The main character just had a divorce with his wife that he loved so much, but he never told her that and he just grumbled to her about work. He goes back to the place where they met, at high school and says he wishes he was 17 again. Later on, he falls off a bridge and into the water. He is transformed into him when he was 17, with hilarious results. He has to find a way to get his wife back and get himself back. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10.

  3. An emotional movie that I have seen is “Saving Mr Banks”. This movie is about the woman who created Mary Poppins and how Mary Poppins was inspired by her own life. The main character had some very sad moments in her childhood, which I won’t spoil. When she is an adult, she is quite a hard woman. She brings Mary Poppins to Walt Disney so that he can produce a movie based on her book. However, Walt Disney wants the book to be happy, unlike her childhood. I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10. It is very sad. 😦

I have never seen Mary Poppins before but I still loved the whole storyline. My favourite character was Walt Disney, he made me smile throughout the whole movie. I love disney with all my heart so I really loved this movie, its one of my favourite movies of all time. There were parts where I cried and parts where I screamed for joy (Tinkerbell part). I recommend this movie for ages 9+. I love this movie so much, a feel good movie and a good family movie.

I personally loved the film Saving Mr. Banks! it has so much character and heart it truly takes you on a journey of how the great Mary Poppins came to be.
My favourite character in this film would have to be Ralph, the driver for Mrs. Travers. He seems so positive and happy. He really helps Mrs. Travers during her time in the U.S. and always tries to make her smile. I grew up watching Mary Poppins as one of my favourite films and after watching this movie and seeing how it was all created makes me love it even more! Emma Thompsons acting is this film is phenomenal and I can see why she was nominated and won several awards.
I give this film a 9/10 it was an amazing movie!

  6. Saving Mr. Banks
This was an inspiring and realistic film based on the writing, making and reasons behind the magical story of Mary Poppins.
My favourite characters throughout the entire film would have to be Ralph and Mrs. Travers. I will not say too much as I do not wish to spoil your experience but they are both intriguing people, with even more intriguing lives. Mary Poppins is one of my favourite disney movies, and now, so is this one. It made me cry, giggle and smile, I feel like I could watch it time and time again – never tiring of it. This film was also nominated for several academy awards and having seen that movie, can understand why. I recommend it to anybody because it is relatable for all age groups. Definitely a 10/10.

I really like Saving Mr Banks. Mary Poppins is such a great movie, so it was really cool watching a mix of Mary Poppins and a few new things. It’s such a creative story and the way it all came together was really interesting. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sad movie and a few laughs. It’s about a girl named Pamela writes Mary Poppins, but there are always flash backs from when she was little and the way she grew up. It’s interesting watching how everyone has a different childhood story, but hers is really sad. I recommend this to anyone over 9. I rate this 9/10.

  9. I really enjoyed the movie Saving Mr Banks because I love Mary Poppins so it was really interesting to see where the idea for the movie came from and how it was created. It was really sad though to see what Pamela went through as a child and how that has affected who she was when she got older. My favourite part of the movie was when they went to Disneyland because that is my favourite place in the whole world so it was really cool to see it in movie and how all the actors wore old clothes and how they made Disneyland look different to match the time it was set in. My favourite character is Walt Disney because he was such a kind hearted man and he was always thinking of others and I like how he just treated Pamela like a friend even though she kept pushing him away. I thought the flashbacks were really well done for Pamela’s childhood but they were so sad. If I could change something in the movie it would be that Walt Disney should have given the taxi drivers daughter tickets to Disneyland, it was just obvious to give them to her but he didn’t and that really annoyed me so I would change that. I would definitely recommend this movie to others, but I think you need to be over 12 to see it because it is pretty intense and might be hard to understand for young kids. But great movie, 8/10.

  10. I feel that saving Mr Banks is such a great emotional movie. It is about the whole life of P.L Travis who wrote Mary Poppins and I was so surprised of her picture of Mary. I love learning about how the movie was made and how strongly the movie comes across to you. When the characters cried I cried it just made me look at Mary Poppins differently. After watching that movie it had such a strong effect on me that I went and read the book Mary Poppins. I loved this movie so much so I would recommend it to 11+ and I rate it 10/10!!

I love Saving Mr Banks because it is such an amazing and heart warming film. The way that it makes you cry and feel so bad for the characters. The whole time I just thought of ‘Mary Poppins’ and how ‘Mary Poppins’ was so real and to the author, how ‘Mary Poppins’ made her feel. ‘Mary Poppins’ was such an amazing movie but a movie of the creating of ‘Mary Poppins’ just makes me jump for joy. The way that the author says no to ‘Feed the birds’ just makes me crack up laughing. This deserves a 10 out of 10

  12. I recommend the funniest movie ‘Saving Mr Banks.’ The movie is about Pamela “P. L.” Travers who reluctantly agrees to travel to Los Angeles to meet with Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) at the urging of her agent Diarmuid Russell. Disney has been courting Travers for 20 years, seeking to acquire the film rights to her Mary Poppins stories, on account of his daughters’ request to make a film based on the character. I thought the movie was full of comedy and drama. I would recommend it to those aged 12+, and rate it 9/10. It was truly one of those movies that you will never forget. 🙂

I love this movie. Ever since I read the book “Mary Poppins”, I was quite curious how they managed to adapt it into a movie, and even what P.L.Travers thought of the whole process. I was very surprised to find that she was also an Australian! I had never known, nor had I ever researched her nationality. I had always assumed her to be English.
This film also re-enforced my love for Walt Disney, and I admire how persistent he was with Ms. Travers to make a movie of her masterpiece. I recommend this movie to anyone who is a lover of Disney classics, and would like to find out more about Mary Poppins.
