As a kid this was my favourite book in the world, I could almost taste all that sweet chocolate and lollies!

Charlie comes from a poor family who can barely afford dinner each night. He lives with 4 grandparents and his parents, the grandparents share the only bed in the house they are so old that they never get out. Each year the family saves so much money just to buy charlie a birthday present, every year he gets the same thing, a willy wonka chocolate bar. Willy Wonka has put 5 golden tickets in 5 different chocolate bars, whoever finds them gets to visit his factory. Charlie tears back the paper of his birthday present full of hope but all he sees is the chocolate bar, no golden ticket. He walks to school every morning past the chocolate factory it is like torture to smell the delicious sweet smell of chocolate! He dreams every single night of finding the ticket and visiting the factory, until one day his dreams come true…….

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is sooo descriptive, you can almost see the chocolate dripping down the fountain. I think that this book will be good for all ages, young to old. I rate this book a 9/10, this books makes your fantasy come true and your imagination run wild………………..

One day Charlie finds a golden ticket! This changes Charlie Buckets whole life, he gets to see ‘Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory’. Somehow, all of the other kids that received a golden ticket got into trouble through the journey and then it was only Charlie Bucket that was left, Willy Wonka asks Charlie if he would like to be the next owner of his factory, Charlie says no because he cares about his family and wants to stay and take care of them. I really love this book by Roald Dahl because it shows the importance of family and that you should be grateful for what you have. Like that you shouldn’t judge people how they look because the ugliest person in the world can be the nicest person in the world and in Charlie and the chocolate factory they kind of judge each other and say that one person is going to win and the other person isn’t and so on and so on. I really enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I read this book some time ago just after I finished reading Matilda. I loved chocolate so the book already appealed to me. What I really like is how the author, Roald Dahl, captures how each character is feeling and he does a really good job of describing each scene and it makes you feel like you are actually there. My favourite part of the book would have to be when Charlie finds the golden ticket. I like this part because he has already tried and failed to get a ticket in a previous attempt and the only people getting the tickets are people who are very spoiled and underserving of the tickets. I also like his excitement and happiness when he sees the ticket. If anyone ever is in need of a funny or creative book then Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the book to read! 🙂

My favourite character would have to be the Grandpa because every time he said something he related it back to his life and he was also funny. I also liked the Grandmas because they were very funny and they were cute. I think Charlie deserved to win that golden ticket because he was a very responsiable boy who loved to look after his family because the family was poor, he did everything for his family. When Charlie heard that there was golden tickets to be won to Willy Wonkas choclate factory he saved up so he could buy some choclate to win the golden ticket, he had heard so much about this factory from his Grandpa. Willy Wonka was a great character because he was very funny, and he showed a man that loves to have fun. I loved the other characters too, they were very funny, I loved how something went wrong with the other characters but not Charlie. I also loved the ompaloompes, they were funny and very musical. I would reccomend this book to everyone. It is a great read. Full of CHOCOLATE.

  47. Charlie and the chocolate factory is my childhood favourite book. I loved the way a child (charlie) with so little can have an experience like Charlie did. The story is about a young boy named Charlie who has very little money. But one day Charlie finds a Golden ticket in a Wonka bar ! He was absolutely stoked with his findings. He was one in five that found one ! This ticket entitled Charlie to bring himself and one person (he chose his grandpa Joe) to Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory and have a once in a life time experience to see inside the Factory. In the factory they found chocolate rivers, lolly grass etc. The winners of the other four tickets were Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teavee. My favourite part of the book is when they were able to go around the factory and eat anything they liked ! My favourite character is Grandpa Joe. This is because he is really nice and cares alot for Charlie. My least favourite part of the book was when I saw how poor Charlie was and all he had for dinner each night was cabbage soup. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to others ! If you have a creative imagination this is your book ! I would recommend this book to all ages.

Until Mr Wonka sends out Chocolate Bars with 5 lucky Golden Tickets inside, if you find a ticket you get to meet Mr Wonka and even better you get to go inside his Chocolate Factory!
Will Charlie be a lucky winner and find a golden Ticket even though his family is so poor???

I recommend ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. I love this book it’s one of my favourites, i’ve read it so many times, i’ve lost count.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the movie with Johnny Depp or the even older version. The book beats the movies by miles. The book lets your imagination go wild, the sky is the limit. The way Dahl writes is easy to understand and it’s only a short novel, it’d only take you a day or two.

The book is about a boy named Charlie who wins a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, this is every kids dream. Charlie takes his grandpa and they are welcomed into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, it’s everything you could dream, there’s chocolate fountains, lolly mushrooms etc. There are other winners aswell, who have golden tickets, there names are Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee. Theres even oompa-loompas, they are like the workers.

If you haven’t read it I strongly recommend you do. It’s the best and a easy book, hope you love it. xx

  56. I love all Roald Dahl books, but especially Charlie and the chocolate factory! I love the fact that he just keeps trying and wishing that he would win that golden ticket!! It is a lovely book and I’m really glad that they won the golden ticket because he comes from a very poor family and all he gets for his birthday is a block of chocolate once a year. My favourite part was when they win the ticket and one of the grandpa’s jumps up out of his bed and starts dancing and singing. I would definitely recommend this book to any one at any age!

  60. The book Charlie and the chocolate was written by Roald Dahl. It is about an unwealthy boy named Charlie who gets a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s amazing choclate factory that hasn’t been heard about for a long time. The other four children that get a Golden Ticket all have different personalities. Veruga Salt, Mike TV, Violet Boagard and Ogustas Gloop were all apart of this amazing trip to Willy Wonka’s factory and all played an effective role in the book, with all different personalities. Completly different personalities! I don’t want to spoil the ending, but if your not after alot of romance or drama Charlia and the Chocolate factory is a completly happy book with alot of smiles. 9/10 for me.

  72. One of my favourite childhood books is ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. It is a very interesting book which tells a story about a little boy called Charlie who comes from a poor loving family. Everyday he walks past mr Willy Wonka’s big chocloate factory and wish’s he could go in it. One day his wish comes true and he finds a golden ticket in his chocolate bar, revealing that he has won a tour of the chocolate factory. Through the story Roald Dahl tells us about the wonderful adventures Charlie and his Grandfather experience whilst in the chocolate factory. I would recommend this book to younger readers between the ages of 9- 12 years. Every time i read this book i get a big grin on my face and imagine what it would be like to win a trip into Mr Willy Wonka’s factory.
