The blog for books and movies

  1. Atypical is a great insight into the life of someone of the spectrum, this series Is about an 18 year-old boy who is trying to figure the world out including school, work, dating and college on his own. Sam Gardener learns to become more independent which brings its own challenges for his protective mother Elsa. I really like the older sister Casey; she is super motivated and caring to Sam in her own harsh way. This a pretty laid-back show and the tension slowly builds during the season which can mean that it is easy to lose interest just a little bit. It is really well made and the camera work is very impressive as well as the way Sam’s daily struggles are like. I would recommend this to teenagers and anyone who is interested in getting a better understanding of life for people on the spectrum, I would rate the first season 8/10. It is a good show to come back to when you need something a little light hearted to watch.
