The blog for books and movies

Forced to spend his summer holidays with his muggle relations, Harry Potter gets a real shock when he gets a surprise visitor: Dobby the house-elf, who warns Harry Potter against returning to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. Harry decides to ignore Dobby’s warning and continues with his pre-arranged schedule. But at Hogwarts, strange and terrible things are indeed happening: Harry is suddenly hearing mysterious voices from inside the walls, muggle-born students are being attacked, and a message scrawled on the wall in blood puts everyone on his/her guard – “The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened. 1. In the second film in the Harry Potter series, The Chamber of Secrets, there is a lot of excitement and adventure. Ron, Fred, and George pick up Harry at the beginning of the story. In the end, they use the flying car to arrive at Hogwarts, where they begin their year with a new strategy against dark arts teacher Gilderoy Lockheart, who is revealed to be a fraud and an evil mentor. His opening of the chamber of secrets under the direction of Tom Riddle, who later became Voldemort, was my least favourite figure ever. Everybody is saved when Harry defeats the Basilisk, who is also responsible for terrifying people. This film is very entertaining and I would recommend it!

In this book we learn about Lord Voldemort and who he was before he became the Dark Lord. Tom Riddle was a student at Hogwarts just like Harry! This book is full of suspense as student, sister and friend Ginny Weasley goes missing without a trace. My favourite part in this book was when they explore further into the chamber of secrets to find Tom Riddle and the Basilisk lurking inside the walls of Hogwarts. I would really recommend this book to all who love mystery and suspense. I give it a 9/10 and really suggest it.

I loved this book. It was such an amazing book to read and the character development throughout it was really good. Dobby was a new character that was introduced in this book and he has become one of my favourites! I loved his determination to save Harry even if at times his methods were questionable. When we found out about the diary that was so interesting and I love the concepts that J.K Rowling creates in her books. Hogwarts is a setting that I can imagine so clearly and this book is one of my favourites from the Harry Potter series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second instalment in the Harry Potter series, and I never felt bored reading it. In the second book of the series, Harry is faced with a mystery, with the Chamber of Secrets being opened, and no one is safe from being petrified. Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione must work together to find out who opened the chamber, before it’s too late and someone dies. My favourite character in this book was Harry, because he used his bravery a cunning to be able to defeat a powerful foe. My least favourite character was Gilderoy Lockhart because he was an annoying, cocky and fraudulent character. I loved how well this book was written, as well as the plot twists and how fun the book is. If there was one thing I would change, it would be that there is at least one friendly or ‘good’ Slytherin, because throughout all of the book series they are treated as villains by the other houses. I would recommend this book to ages 9 and over, as it is a pretty easy read and easy to follow. I would also recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading, because Harry Potter is, in my opinion, a must read.

  5. After a summer spent with the Dursleys, Harry is excited to return to Hogwarts. An unexpected visitor, Dobby , shows up and tries to keep Harry away from hogwarts. He tries to stop Harry from returning to Hogwarts by getting him to illegally perform magic outside of the school. I won’t spoil it anymore but it’s definitely worth reading. I rate this book a 7/10.

I read Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets by J.K Rowling. My favourite character was moaning myrtle because she is a bit annoying but she contributes to the story a lot and makes the actual story. My favourite part of the story was when they went to the ghost Halloween party. I recommend this book to people who liked the philosopher’s stone and who like adventure and magic. I really like how the author did a detailed description of the characters.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was a fantastic book! It’s about Harry and his friends trying to figure out what monster is petrifying people. Although Harry has been warned by Dobby the elf to never return to Hogwarts, he decides to anyway, unaware at how dangerous his choice will become. At Hogwarts, a mysterious message had been written, informing everyone that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. The students of Hogwarts soon think that Harry is the heir of Slytherin and has opened the Chamber since he has just recently found out that he can talk to snakes. Harry soon realises that his enemy, ‘the one who must not be named’ is hiding in the Chamber of secrets with the Basilisk snake. Overall, i believe that this book was great, i would give it a 9/10 and i recommend it to people who love imaginative stories or Harry Potter in general.

  10. I like Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets because of who is opening the chamber is such a shock because you find out how opened the chamber then it is not who you think I also love how homely Hogwarts feels and how descriptive the writing is because it feels like you’re actually there. My favourite part of the book was whenever Lockhart gives Harry tips on fame thinking that Harry is trying to grow his fame, Lockhart is so infuriating but its so funny so this is my favourite part in the book. My favourite Character is Hermione because she is smart and bossy. I am not sure who I can relate to I understand all the characters but I can’t decide who I relate to the best. My least favourite part of the book is when Malfoy Hermione a mud blood as that is a really dirty word in the Harry Potter universe and it represents prejudice and discrimination in our world today but mainly, I didn’t like that part of the book because Ron tried to curse Malfoy but ended up throwing up slugs. GROSS. I don’t think I would change anything because it all adds up to a rich tapestry of magic and mystery. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone because I enjoyed it so much
    Happy Reading !!!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the Harry potter series. its starts off with harry at his awful home have an awful time, but soon enough Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts (even though a bit of stuggle) for the second time and is welcomed by friends, quidditch and teachers that care for them As the tale unfolds, Harry has to deal with humility, confrontation and even hate. My favourite character is Hermoine and my least favourite is definitely still Draco. I love this book so much and it is honestly one of the better in the whole series, i love that they are so young and naive and dont know whats coming. It doesn’t matter what type of books you like to read, the Harry Potter series has something for everyone. It has action, drama, mystery and even in the later books, a bit of romance. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone thats a confident reader, but would say it is probably most appropraite for people 10 years and up. This book is a little bit darker than the previous one, though I would think still suitable for a young child. I think that J.K. Rowling is an amazing writer that makes her books well detailed but also super interesting. I would rate this book a 9 out of 10, it is one of my favourite books of all time

Another fabulous book and a new year a Hogwarts school of which-craft and wizardry! It’s just another boring summer with the Dursley’s (his aunt, uncle and cousin) and Harry can’t wait to get back to Hogwarts! Surprises come his way when a house elf called Dobby comes to warn Harry not to go back to Hogwarts, but why? Dobby causes chaos in the Dursley’s house and Harry gets punished, his uncle puts iron bars on his windows. Coming to his rescue in a flying car Ron Weasley and his brothers take Harry back to their house, the Burrow. After the summer ends it is time to return to Hogwarts but as they line up at kings cross trying to get onto platform 9 and 3quaters, something is stopping him and Ron getting through, what could it be? They end up having to use the flying car to arrive at Hogwarts which end them in a lot of trouble, but the year begins. THE CHAMBER HAS BEEN OPENED! Mysterious things are happening around Hogwarts and harry needs help from his friends, teachers and peers to save Ginny from Tom Riddle in the secret chamber! You must read this book 😉

  13. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in this wondrous, non unreadable, incredible series!!! The second year is approaching when a creature by the name of Dobby arrives. He claims he is a house elf and is here to “help” Harry Potter. Ron Weasley soon saves him from the Dursleys with a flying car. Then when arriving at platform 9 3/4 they are blocked and are unable to enter because of Dobby, so fly in the magical flying ford (car) to Hogwarts where they stumble into the Whomping Willow Tree, where Ron breaks his wand. Ginny soon goes missing, and rumours spread throughout the school on the “Chamber of Secrets” being opened, with messages in blood spread through out the halls. Harry soon learns he can speak parseltongue (able to talk to snakes), and must get help from Moaning Myrtle and destroy Tom Riddle’s diary before it’s too late…..

This book is great. I loved it! It is about Harry Potters second year at Hogwarts. A house elf called Dobby shows up in his room and is trying to stop him from going because he says it is dangerous for him, but Harry manages to get there in the end. Once he is there he begins to hear some strange noises coming from the walls that no one else can hear. Then later, Harry discovers he is a parselmouth, which means he can speak to snakes. Harry, Ron and Hermione then discover that someone has opened the chamber of secrets, a chamber that Salazar Slytherin created that the basilisk lives in, to get rid of all the muggle-born students. Altogether, the group must figure out how to get rid of the basilisk and save Ginny. I definitely recommend this book.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – J.K. Rowling.
This is the second book in the Harry Potter series. We start yet again at the Dursley household, where Harry is spending his summer holidays. When, one day, Dobby, a house-elf appears, warning Harry that there is danger at Hogwarts and that he shouldn’t return. Harry didn’t listen and still returned to Hogwarts. But, as Dobby’s warnings said, danger started to occur; Harry began to hear whispers in the walls, messages in blood were found scrawled over the walls, and muggle (non-magical) born were being attacked. Soon, all evidence pointed to Harry. What did he do, to uncover the past and solve the chamber of secrets?
I really liked this book because of the extreme detail. The detail also really helped to set the scene and portray emotions with thoroughness. A lot of the time, J.K. Rowling had my heart racing really fast. My favorite character is Dobby, because he is so cute, and has a lot of character.
I recommend this book for ages 9+.
I give this book an 8.5/10.

  20. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book of the Harry Potter series and is just as good as the first! The book starts off with Harry being stuck with his cruel muggle relatives over the summer before he is whisked off to Hogwarts to begin his second year. However, things at Hogwarts aren’t as they seem as Harry discovers an ability to talk to snakes and several students are attacked. This book is filled with action, mystery and friendship as Harry, Ron and Hermione try to discover the secret behind the “monster” that is attacking the muggleborns. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure and fantasy (and who has enjoyed the first book) to read because this book is great for all ages.

i loved this book as it was about harry returning to hogwarts though his return wasn’t the best entrance as his friend Ron and himself were in the flying car when it smashed into a tree, he is warned by dobby an elf earlier on in the book not to go back to hogwarts but he insists on going and later on is great by voldemort and a giant snake, he is in the bathroom when he hears crying and meets a ghost girl myrtle who exclaims to him how she was in the bathroom one day looking in the mirror when something with big red eyes came up ad killed her and it was her soul talking to him. Harry then finds a hidden entrance to the sewers below and goes down to find out what is there, he is looking when he hears something and turns to see a huge snake slither past, he draws his sword he got fro the forest of dean. long story short he kills the beast that has been causing problems with the help of a phoenix and is happy again, or until the next book. i would rate this book a 8/10 as t is thrilling and exciting and a great suspenseful read.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets definitely has to be my favourite book in the series, with action, mystery, friendship and drama to fill the pages what more could you want? This is the second adventure of Harry Potter and his friends, with a mission to defeat ‘he who must not be named’ they solve puzzles and figure out hidden secrets until their final journey to the Chamber where all of the answers are revealed. I love this book so much because there is something interesting on every page, blink and you’ll miss out on important details that are spread throughout the book. I love reading but if I’m not entertained the entire time then I will easily give up but this book satisfies very well in that department.

I particularly love the involvement of Ginny in this book, I really like the fact the Rowling has brought in an underground character that still has a very strong connection to Harry Potter. I would recommend this for anyone, it’s not too long, it’s not too short and there’s never a dull moment. 10/10

I love all the harry potter books and movies, but this one is my favourite of them all. It has all the qualities a book should have, action, humour, sadness and friendship. The journey Ron, Hermione and Harry take is unspeakable, J.K Rowling has truly done a magnificent job on all the books and I applaud her for that. I also applaud Harry potter for digging for clues then finding the chamber of secrets!!!!! Even though I have read and watched these movies/books so many times it still makes my heart pound!

This is Harry’s second year at Hogwarts and surprise, surprise something goes wrong, but lucky for the rest of the students at Hogwarts Harry Potter is here to help! Harry is flooded with confusion as the half-bloods in the school including Hermione is suddenly being petrified! It wasn’t certain but everybody knew that the chamber of secrets had been opened… With Ginny being controlled by the memory of Voldemort living inside of a diary! (I know. That was a crazy sentence). Harry knew he had to take matters into his own hands since the only two adults he trusted had been taken away! (Dumbledore and Hagrid). Ginny had been taken to the chamber of secrets and no one knew id she was still alive or wouldn’t survive. Harry made the bold move to enter the chamber and restored peace at Hogwarts!

I would rate this book a 10/10. It was action-packed and loaded with fascinating details of Harry, Ron, Hermione and even Voldemort’s life! I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for something new and different but they should be over 10 because although this book is very detailed it may scare young children with its gruesome details.

I am reviewing one of my personally favourite books (Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.) The book starts off very normally but then some strange things start to happen to their school (Hogwarts). And Harry must figure out who is or was the person who did these things and it just happened to be that everyone blamed Harry. Though the formula is similar to the first book I think it is this well-written and exciting sequel keeps me glued to the page and I just can’t stop reading it. Seriously, once I read the first page I could not put the book down.

  36. I loved all the Harry Potter books but this one particularly, The Camber of Secrets by JK Rowling was one of my all-time favourites. It follows the storyline of three friends called Harry, Ron and Hermione attending a School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. The story starts with Harry desperate to return to Hogwarts to visit his friends and play Quidditch (the wizard sport). But he was unexpectedly visited by a house-elf warning him not to return. But Harry is so keen to be back he ignores the elf who leaves him with a warning and a cake smeared over the guests downstairs. The Dursleys lock him in his room for weeks only to be rescued by his best friend Ron and his siblings. Harry is so excited to be going back to Hogwarts only to be stopped by the closing barrier at 9 and 3/4. This is a crazy start to the year to be followed by; Harry discovering he is a parseltongue, attacks on muggle-born students and him facing against his dark enemy Lord Voldemort for the second time, only this time he is in a different form. I love this book but I do recommend reading the books in order as they seem to flow better and are easier to understand. Harry Potter is my favourite series and I recommend it for all ages. I also love the movies but recommend them for 8+ as some scenes are a bit scary.

The book begins to explore the life of Lord Voldemort more and begins to set him up as the villain of the series. This book has its own mystery, that Harry, Ron and Hermione try to solve, before it is too late. This book has a great amount of mystery and magic and allows the reader to use their own imaginations. Throughout the book you find yourself trying to figure out who opened the chamber, where it is and how Harry will save the day. I highly recommend this book, because it is a very entertaining read and is hard to put down. I would definitely give this book a 10/10.

This year its about a chamber of secrets. I actually preferred this book to the first Harry Potter book. I found it more entertaining and enjoyed the plot a little more. I would recommend reading the first Harry Potter book first if you’re planning on reading this book because I think that this one would be a little hard to follow if you haven’t read the one before it. I still liked the movie more compared to the book edition but it was still a close call, so if you liked the movie chances are you’ll like the book as well. I would recommend this book to most people and I think it’s suitable to most age groups. However, the group who I think would enjoy it the most is probably teenagers to young adults. So it’s a good read for anyone interested at Sacred Heart. I would rate this book a 7/10 because it’s not my favourite but I still enjoyed it.

The Chamber Of Secrets is one of my favourites because of how adventure packed it is! Ron and Harry miss the train to Hogwarts, so they use Mr.Weasley’s magic muggle car. when they started flying in the car the invisibility button ran out of power and the car can clear to view. they decide to stay near the train track to avoid being seen but the Hogwarts train comes up behind them and they are forced to fly up back in the sky above the train. Harry had a very near miss with falling out of the car whilst in mid air. They make it to the school barley, mind you, and a Hogwarts famous tree called the Whomping Willow almost bashed them to death. If the tree didn’t kill them then leader of their house, Professor McGonagall certainly would. to their surprise she did not but only thanks to their very friendly principle Professor Dumbledore. OK, I will let you guys find out the rest when you read the book or watch the movie. What I am doing is I am reading the book and then watching the movie to get a better understanding of the story line.

I am a very picky reader and start books that I never finish but this special book had me falling of my chair every time I turned my page. With not being familiar with the Harry Potter series and unbeknownst to me I had started with the chamber of secrets as the first book I had read in this series. Even though the story line was a bit confusing I couldn’t put it down and couldn’t wait until I could read it again. The book was filled with so much suspense the built up it was so hard not to stop reading it. I strongly suggest this book whether you have read the first book or not its a great read with so may mysteries and secrets. I would suggest knowing a bit about the first and then dive head first into this book. It will have you grinning from ear to ear and have you raving about it to everyone.

I really enjoyed reading Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, I especially love the mystery of not knowing what will happen next, and coming up with theories throughout the book with the limited amount of clues that don’t seem important until the end when everything is explained. I also especially loved the character Dobby, he was incredibly sweet, funny, although some of his actions seemed to cause unhappiness for Harry Dobby always had the right intentions, and loved Harry so much that he was willing to die for him. I don’t have a least favourite part of the book I loved all of it which leads me to not have a favourite part either, I simply loved the whole thing. I would definitely recommend this book to children, teens and even adults as it is not limited to a particular age group which is what I love about all of the Harry Potter books.

I love this book so much it was so good and gave me goosebumps while reading it, through the entire book, I felt like I was actually there encountering what they encounter. I loved every part of the book, but I love how Harry meets Dobby, Dobby the House Elf. Once again I loved every single character but I thought Dobby was quite funny. I can relate to Dobby having to punish himself when he’s done something wrong or said something he shouldn’t have. Because I normally try and push myself far beyond my comfort zone. No, I can’t even choose a least favourite part because I loved every bit. I wouldn’t change anything about the book because the whole thing is amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone because it is so so terrific. I think anyone would love this book but you would definitely if you love Sci-Fi and Fantasy and Adventure stories.

Harry has to live with Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, and cousin Dudley, for the entire holidays, until school starts back, usually, you wish you wouldn’t have to go back, but Harry is wishing for the holidays to end and for school to commence. Then one day Harry is visited by a strange guest, Dobby the House Elf, Dobby warns Harry about not continuing at Hogwarts this year as terrible things will occur, he speaks of a plot that will ruin Hogwarts. Harry doesn’t listen to Dobby and his plans of returning to Hogwarts still going to plan. But everything Dobby had spoken about came true, things are going wrong at Hogwarts. There are voices that only Harry hears, Muggle-borns are being attacked.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets by JK Rowling is a great read. At the start, Harry was desperate to return to Hogwarts. However, a strange elf turns up at his house and tells him not to return to Hogwarts! Despite Dobbys warnings, Harry went to where he felt he belonged. If you read this book you will go on a wonderful journey with Harry and his two best friends, Ron and Herminie. Harry realizes he has a incredible ability to speak to snakes and uses this to his advantage. Things start happening to students who are muggleborns and harry is intrigued to find out why. I recommend this book to anyone who loves an adventure and some fantasy. I rate it a 10/10!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets –
First off, this book had high expectations because of JK Rowling’s reputation, and it definetly exceeded those expectations easily. This is a very exciting novel which will surely keep you hooked throughout the whole 2nd year of Harry, Hermione and Ron’s adventure in hogwarts. I loved this book, and all the other ones in the harry potter series just because they were so detailed, and described things any human being could only imagine.
If you love an adventure, be sure to read this book as it will definetly be a favourite.

Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets is such a funny action novel that involves a giant killer snake rampaging around the suage pipes I love every word on every page of the book because there is never a boring part in this book. My favourite character is probably Ginny Weasley because she is so shy in the book and she has a hilariously big crush on harry. This book was leading in many different ways but my favourite part was the giant twist at the end of who the air of slytherin was. I find it amazing how J.K Rowling merged Voldemort’s name. Tom marvolo Riddle into I am Lord Voldemort. It’s clever and quite frankly funny in some ways. In a nutshell this book is so funny and is a great book to read over and over again.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets being the second and one of the most jaw dropping and astonishing novels in the Harry Potter series, depicts the school year of Harry and his peers/teachers in a magical and exceptional school. As the year goes on, mysterious occasions continue to occur as a result of the Chamber of Secrets opening once again. Harry along with his two closest friends persevere to find the answer to this unidentified incidence.
Just like the first, it is superbly written along with fantastic explanation of each scene making it feel as though you, the reader, are apart of the story.

They make it to the school barley, mind you, and a Hogwart-famous tree called the Whomping Willow almost bashed them to death.

I enjoyed how they described Voldemort and how he is portrayed in a book for the most of the book. I enjoyed the mysterious aspect it had and how Voldemort would take over the mind of the students.

I enjoyed the description and thought that went into the monster that was petrifying the students of Hogwarts. I especially liked how J.K made it so the students didn’t die because of the reflection.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the Harry potter series. Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for the second time and is welcomed by friends, quidditch and teachers that care for them As the tale unfolds, Harry has to deal with humility, confrontation and even hate. I love this book so much and it is honestly my favourite book in the whole series. It doesn’t matter what type of books you like to read, the Harry Potter series has something for everyone. It has action, drama, mystery and even in the later books, a bit of romance. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, no matter their age/interests. This book is a little bit darker than the previous one, though I would think still suitable for a young child. I think that J.K. Rowling is an amazing writer that makes her books well detailed but also super interesting. I would rate this book a 9 out of 10, it is one of my favourite books of all time

Harry was famous to wizards because he defeated the powers of another wizard when he was one. It was a bit of an accident, so he was still treated normally. Even this school has its ups and downs. Harry has enemies like Drako Malfoy and his least favourite teacher Snape.
There were lots of stories told about the chamber of secrets and Harry and his friends, Ron particularly tried to solve the mystery. They had to find the entrance to the chamber, what was inside it, and who had been opening it and letting the monsters inside it out to attack the students. In the end, they found out that Ron’s sister, Jinny was behind it but she had been under control by a diary. With this diary, you write in it and a person named Tom Riddle would write back. But Tom was an evil wizard so he managed to learn enough about Jinny to control her. Personally I enjoyed this story. People at any age would enjoy so long as they can understand the language used. The good thing about the story was the more they found out, the more it confused them. I recommend this book for anyone who loves to read because it is a pretty heavy book!!

    I really enjoyed this book.

My favourite part was when Harry saved Ginny from Tom Riddle (Voldemort) and when ‘Tom Marvolo Riddle’ was rearranged into ‘I am Lord Voldemort’.

My favourite character was Ron, because he had to fight for his sister, and even though they fought ALOT he still wanted to save her, but I was kinda upset that Harry went on and Ron was left to deal with Professor Lockhart.

I relate to Hermione Granger because she is smart, she is always paying attention and she thinks straight in an emergency.

If I could change something, I change it so that Harry and Ron swapped places and Ron confused Tom and Tom sent him back to get Harry but Ron says no and drags his sister along the ground behind him and Tom just looks at him like; whaaa?; and Harry accidentally does a charm on Lockhart turning him into a frog, and he tries to turn him back but it doesn’t work. That would be so funny.

I completely recommend this book for people who are into fantasy and magic and who have already read the first book (philosophers stone). If you have just read Philosophers Stone read the next books and you will enjoy the books as they go on.

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Harry, Ron and Hermione are in their second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry when Harry starts to hear a disembodied voice moving around the school. Lord Voldemort (you-know-who) is possessing Ron’s sister, Ginny, to set a basilisk on the muggleborns and squibs of Hogwarts. Hermione is petrified and Harry and Ron discover what is causing the attacks and go down into the Chamber of Secrets and defeat 16 year old Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort/you-know-who). The books is based on Teamwork, friendship and magic, and amazing combination! My favourite part of the book is when Ron, Harry and Lockhart are down in the chamber and Lockhart loses him memory. My favourite characters are Hermione, the girl with all the brains, and Ginny, because she is really kind and sweet to everyone (except Draco Malfoy). I wouldn’t change anything about this book, it is perfect. I would recommend this book to people who are 8 years or older. I really enjoyed this book, and loved the new characters introduced which made it more interesting. My favourite character is still Harry, but I really loved Dobby in this book. Dobby was warning Harry not to return to Hogwarts, and Harry’s kindness caused Dobby to go crazy and try to punish himself. Dobby was a really kind, caring character who cared for Harry’s life, blocking the entrance to platform 9 and 3/4 so that he couldn’t return to Hogwarts. My favourite part was when Harry and Ron drove a flying car to Hogwarts and then crashed into a tree that hit them back. That was a crazy adventure. I also liked it when Harry was in the Chamber of Secrets battling battling a Basilik (a huge dragon/lizard creature) and meeting a young Voldemort. I have no least favourite parts because this book is amazing and I would not change anything at all. It has so much action and adventure in this book, so I would absolutely recommend this book to someone else. I would recommend it to anyone who likes books in general, because everyone has to read Harry Potter at least once; they are worldwide famous for a reason. The plot has action aplenty and is quite mysterious. It will keep you guessing so you certainly will never become bored of the book. The golden trio’s friendship continues to grow and they become closer than ever.

Beyond the story line so many factors lie behind the characters; coming of age, overcoming gender, society and being different. This entire series is great and I would recommend it to anyone. It is perfect for children to read any age, even if it is read aloud to them.

“Harry potter and the Chambers of Secrets” has to be one of my favourite films of all time! It is the movie out of all the Harry Potter movies that I have watched the most. It’s so magical and adventurous! 😀 I use to be terrified of the snake but now I love it. My siblings still find it scary but I am so much more mature than them ;D. My favourite scene in this film is when all the people get petrified…even the cat. I use to look forward to that scene every time I’d watch it because it was so creepy! My favourite character in this book and movie was definitely hermione. She is so cute and matter-of-fact in everything she does. Also the fact that she is a “mud-blood” makes me like her even more because even though one of her parents is a muggle she is still the smartest witch in the school. I rate it 10/10!

My favourite part of the movie was when Harry and Ron ‘follow the spiders’ this part gave us an deeper understanding of the plot as well as the characters and who might have opened the ‘chamber of secrets’. My favourite character in this book is Malfoy, he is so cruel and rude but his character really makes the book and it wouldn’t be the same without him. I found when Harry entered the chamber to be really scary and I was really worried for him. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 12, because some parts can be pretty scary. I rate this book 9.5/10, I loved it!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Joanne Rowling

The perfect sequel from the perfect author I say. The chamber of secrets is one of my favorite Harry Potter books. I believe it is where Harry discovers the true powers of Lord Voldemort or as he is more commonly known as, he who must not be named.

My favorite character from this book is Ginny Weasley. Having grown up with six elder brothers she really knows the meaning of happiness, but as the year goes on Harry will discover that Ginny is hiding something, but what could it possibly be?

My favorite part of the book is when Ron and his two elder twin brothers Fred and George break him out of the captivity of his horrid aunt and uncle.

I encourage anyone to read this book but only after they have read the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.

Again one of my favourite all time books! In this book my favourite character is Harry, due to his bravery and curiosity throughout the book. My favourite part is when Harry knows how to open the door with the snake type design on it, it think that was such a brave moment of his and I know that I would not have had the courage to do that. It was like he was not even scared and I thought that was really cool. My other favourite scene is when Harry writes in the diary and the diary writes back to him, I found it the most intriguing part in the novel, and that part was the part that got me hooked on the book! I was totally upset when I finished this book, but then I was happy because I found out that there was another book for me to enjoy. I would recommend this book to everyone, as it is probably my favourite out of the whole series. I would rate this book 10/10

Just like JK Rowling’s first novel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is just as entertaining and exciting. It’s Harry, Ron and Hermione’s second year at Hogwarts, and again they find themselves solving mysteries, having fun, learning about magic and trying to discover the secrets of a myth about a hidden chamber at Hogwarts. The book is full of laughs and tears, and you won’t be able to stop reading! My favourite part of the book is when Dobby, a small house elf Harry befriends at the start of the book, is freed from his horrid master Lucius Malfoy. It is a touching scene and shows how compassionate and kind Harry truly is. It is also the scene where everything becomes clear, where our questions as readers are answered. I love this book and couldn’t put it down! I would recommend this book to everyone, because it is so exciting, engrossing and seems so real!

As I have stated in another Harry Potter novel review, I love this series. J.K. Rowling writes with wit and much detail. The characters are so loveable and relatable (even Professor Snape and Peeves the Poltergeist). Anybody who is a fan of fantasy novels and defeating the evil, you should read this novel, and the one before, and the entire series. Twice.

  100. I love this Harry Potter book!! Every time I read it, I find it incredibly creative, and amazing how someone can come up with all the ideas. I love the general idea of the heir of Slytherin returning, and the basilisk petrifying people. Even small details like the mandrake juice to return people to their original state, is a brilliant idea. After all the other books came out, it’s really interesting how the diary is a horcrux. However we don’t actually find this out until ‘The Half Blood Prince’. I find it amazing how the whole series had been planned, and the contents of each book, and then all the different ideas lead in to each other.
I love Hermione in this book. She is so smart, and unlike many of the other students, really values her education and loves to push herself by reading many of the libraries books. Without Hermione, the mystery of the Chamber would be a mystery. She is highly logical and sees things others don’t.
I rate this book 9.8/10 and I believe anyone over the age of 10 would love this book.

I have never read the books but I would love to, but the movie OMG its so good. Although my brothers have watched it 50 times and I think i even know almost all the words now its still a good movie. Finally the other day my brother said “I’m sick of that movie now” and I jumped for joy when I found out he wasn’t going to watch it anymore, because that was all he ever watched. My favourite character is Hermione because she is smart and sometimes even funny. I also like Dobby because he is ute and friendly and tries to save Harry’s life I love how Harry, Ron and Hermione have such a strong friendship and nothing can tear them apart. I recommend this for 9+ because there are some scenes that could scare some kids like the spiders. I rate this movie a 10 out of 10! If you haven’t seen this movie you haven’t lived so go and watch the amazing Harry Potter!!!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets is amazing. In this book, there is the unraveling of many secrets, whether it is about Voldemort, or Harry himself. There is a chamber discovered, where you have to have a special tongue to open it. It is hidden in a bathroom. Harry works it out and just in the nick of time he saves someone. Harry has to investigate and figure it out with his two partners, Ron and Hermione. Without the help of teachers or anyone other than his partners harry discovers a diary. A diary owned by someone, very important. This book is good and bad. It helps harry, but it gets him into trouble too.
I love this book and rate it 10/10. I recommend it for 10+ because the writing can be hard to understand for any younger. 🙂

Join Harry, Ron and Hermione for another dangerous, fun, and exhilarating school year at Hogwarts ! The Chamber Of Secrets has been opened, and although many students have only heard rumours of what exactly it is, the teachers appear more frightened than anyone. According to legend the chamber of secrets was created by the founder of Slytherin house, and inside he hid a monster, a terrible monster. This monster was supposedly there to kill all muggle (non magic) blood students. Of course Harry Ron and Hermione are always in the wrong place at the wrong time, but start to work out where the chamber is really hidden, and what they can do to save the muggle born students of Hogwarts.
This book is amazing, and if you’ve read the first one you’ll have to read this one as well !

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling. This story is about a monster controlled by the ‘heir of Slytherin’ that lives in the chamber of secrets. In the Chamber of Secrets, Harry and his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, must find out what the monster is before the headmaster closes the school down. On their mission, they find a special diary and soon find out that there is more than meets the eye. In this adventurous story, the types of animals and creatures includes, Fangs (Hagrid’s dog), snakes, gigantic spiders, monsters and even a phoenix. My favourite character in this Harry Potter book is Gildory Lochart because he never fails to entertain me and make me laugh.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the magical series by J.K Rowling. The story is about a deadly monster controlled by Voldemort that lives in the chamber of secrets. Harry, Ron and Hermione save Ginny from being possessed by Voldemort. The book introduces us to Harry being able to speak Parseltongue (being able to talk to snakes). There are giant spiders, snakes mandrakes (mandrakes cure petrified people) that contribute to the thrilling adventures in this novel.

I think this story is one of my favourite books out of the whole series. It is so mysterious and you find out so much about Voldemort and his life as a student at Hogwarts before he crossed to the dark side. When I read this book I felt I got to learn more about the characters.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second of the 7 series novel’s of Harry Potter. It is a pretty good book, but it would not be one of my favourite book in the series. However this book is still a good . I like at the end of the book when Harry is in the chamber of secrets and also when Harry and Ron are in the flying blue car and they make there way to hogwarts. My favourite character in this book would be Dobby! He is so cute and small. But my least favourite characters in the book would be Gilderoy Lockhart because everyone thinks he is amazing but he is not, Tom Riddle because he dose terrible things to people and lucius because he is mean and he dose some bad things too. I do not like when Harry and Ron are in the forest because I do not like big hairy spiders. This book is still very good and I would recommend this book ages 10 and up. I would rate it an 8 out of ten. It is still a good book but for me some bits in the book got a little bit boring and also not all of the book was interesting for me .

I recommend the book to anybody who likes to read books with adventure, mysteries and excitement. Although in reality The Harry Potter series is probably the best bunch of books I have ever read, being filled with adventure, fantasy, excitement, horror, Drama, Comedy the list could go on… but what really struck about the chamber of secrets is how the author put so much passion and detail into her books. I Simply love J.K Rowling’s creativity, the fact that she created so many different spells and creatures is pure genius. There is so many fantastic parts of this book that is so hard to choose a favourite, but I have to say the part where Tom Riddle takes Harry 50 years in the past to discover who the culprit of the book, was simply magical! There are some areas that slightly frightened me, Like the part were Harry, Ron and Fang(Fang is Hagrid’s dog) were taken hostage by a bunch of gigantic spiders. I also would never have thought that Harry could speak Parseltongue (He can speak to snakes).
I would recommend this to people who are 9+. This is because this book is for is for Advanced readers, there are also some scenes which could frighten younger readers.
Over all I would rate this book a solid 8/10, frankly I rate this because there were some parts of the book which bored me and one of the characters Gilderoy Lockhart annoyed me beyond compare. but other than that Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a fantastic book

The second book of the infamous Harry Potter series had a lot of hype to live up to, and it certainly surpassed itself. This book focuses on Harry, Ron and Hermione’s adventures in their second year at Hogwarts, starting with a magical flying car and ending with a giant, deadly snake (and of course many more in between). When reading this book, the first thing I noticed was that it seemed to be darker than the first, and I certainly believe that, and also that the other books become considerably darker after this one too. But, that is not really a bad thing, I just found that it pulls you even more into the series, and you begin to relate to the characters and have real feelings for them. I would recommend this book again to everyone, as I loved it and everyone I know who has read it loved it too. This magical, mysterious book is one for everyone.

I also like the part when Harry realises Tom Riddle is Lord Voldemort because you feel really shocked and want to read and see what happens next. My favourite character is Ginny Weasley because she is always really shy around harry and it’s really cute. My least favourite part of the book is when they encounter the spiders because it was really scary and I am also scared of spiders so I was like sitting in bed gripping the book really tightly cause I felt like I was there and I had to keep reminding myself it wasn’t happening to me. Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, is the second book of the series, Harry Potter, and is just as good as all the others!! It’s Harry’s 2nd year at Hogwarts with a bit of a twist, the Chamber Of Secrets has been opened. I loved the movie and book because it is just like any other Harry Potter book I have loved watching and reading. My favourite part in the book/movie was when Harry was fighting the Basilisk in the Chamber Of Secrets, but was also very dangerous for him, and Ginny as well. My favourite characters are Harry because he is strong, thoughtful, smart, talented and possesses the quality of courage, Ron because he is so funny when he is scared of everything, very brave in the Forbidden Forest with Harry and all the spiders and Aragog, and of course Hermione because she is super, smart, deep in thought and absolutely incredible! Sadly, I can’t really relate to any of the characters other than Hermione because I think we are both very smart, and we think the same. (LOL!!) My least favourite part in the book and movie was when Hermione was petrified, when Harry was battling the Basilisk and when he destroyed Tom Riddle’s Diary aka, a horcrux with the Basilisk’s fang, because it was one of them moments when your thinking, what’s going to happen and are they going to die? Well there are 2 ways to find out, read the book, watch the movie or do both. If I were J.K Rowling, I wouldn’t want or have to change anything in the book, because I like it just the way it is, the way I read it. I would recommend this book/ movie to any person, because I am positive that they will love Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets movie and/or book, and the rest of the series as well. I think any type of person would love this book/movie, especially people who are into magic, and the make-believe stories. So, my advice would be, watch the movie, read the book, even do both because no matter what, everyone, including you, will and should love Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, and of course the rest of the book and movie series!!

  138. hi,
i am reviewing a classic favourite of mine, Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets by JK Rowling. THe story kicks off by Harry desperate to return to Hogwarts, shcool, his friends and quiddich. However a surprise guest arrives in the form of a house elf named Dobby who warns harry not to return to hogwarts. He leaves Harry with a parting warning and an cream cake smeared on a guest of the dursleys. He is rescued from his cousins by a his best mate Ron and a flying car. Harry is going to Hogwarts! However it isnt that simple, the platform 9 and 3/4’s is blocked so their trip to Hogwarts isnt by train but by flying car. This is only the start of a dramatic year for Harry who discovers a new ability to converse with snakes and when mysterious attacks on students are happening on muggleborns Harry encounters his dark enemy Lord Voldemort once again. . .
I would recommend anyone who enjoys adventure and fantasy to read this book and the entire Harry Potter series because although it may seem a bit “young” for highschool students i find this book is great for people of all ages
