The blog for books and movies

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he’s in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?

Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all—including Leo—related to a god.

  1. I definitely recommend the series Heroes of Olympus. If you love fantasy and action this is the series to read! In this book, Jason wakes up with his memory stolen, he doesn’t know where he is or even who he is, he only remembers his name. His friends Leo and Piper, pick up on his stress and try to find an answer to his problem. This book is full of ups and downs in Leos, Jasons and Piper’s perspective. They are all hiding secrets from each other which none of them wish to reveal. This journey will test their friendship and force them to work together as a team. They will have to be honest and have to constantly watch each other’s backs, in order to save the Goddess, Hera.
The series keeps you on the edge of your seat, never wanting to tear your eyes away from the books. This series definitely toys with your emotions, making it an emotional roller-coaster ride. I rate this book 10/10. Please enjoy the series and don’t get too hooked!

  2. The Lost Hero is the story of three teens on a treacherous quest. The first novel in the Heros of Olympus series travels at such breakneck speed you will be unable to put it down until you have read the last page. With mystery from the first page and an ever-thickening plot, I was hooked from the start. The reason I loved this novel so much was because it is a combination of Greek Mythology, twisted into today’s world. My favourite character in the book would have to be Piper, as at the start of the book, she is a quiet girl, who tries to avoid any attention at her camp, except when she is around her closest friends. As the story goes on though, Piper finds her confidence by standing up for her friends and protecting all she believes in. Piper is a perfect example of girl power, and I admire her courage, persistence and quick-thinking. For all of the three main characters, Jason, Piper and Leo, I believe the journey they undertake leads to a massive amount of self-discovery. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves a thrilling, fast paced read.

  3. I have read the Percy Jackson series and they were amazing! I then started reading the Heroes of Olympus series. They were amazing, too! It was great to see the old characters like Percy and Annabeth and introduce them to new characters. The only thing about the book that I would change would be to make a glossary at the back of the book because sometimes I got really confused with the Roman and Greek names for the Gods, especially when I just read a whole series with just the Greek names. On the plus side, I was the only one who knew the Greek and Roman Gods at school, so thanks Rick Riordan. The plot was really good as well, the mystery, romance and action flowed really nicely. I could not put the book down and finished the series in no time!! I rate this book 9/10.

  4. I would recommend the series Heros of Olympus. If you like the Percy Jackson series then you will love these series. As well as Percy and all the other characters in the Percy Jackson series new faces come. Jason, Leo, Piper, Rachel and so much more. Jason and Percy are the main leaders in this group. But what happens when they both forget where or who they are. The only thing they remember is their names. The first book starts off with Jason and he gets taken to Camp Half Blood but, Percy has mysteriously disappeared and Annabeth is in search of him. But where did Percy go? Why won’t he come back? Read the series and I know that you won’t be able to put the books down!! I would rate this series a 10/10!!!
