The blog for books and movies

A nightmare, I’d told Tamlin. I was the nightmare.

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit—and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well. As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords—and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

  1. The third instalment in the ACOTAR series is a flood of adventure, romance and betrayal which I can so easily get lost in. Feyre’s sisters, Elain and Nesta, have recently been turned into faeries, and war is looming with bloodthirsty fingers. Feyre returns to Tamlin’s mansion. She and Tamlin were once deeply in love but Feyre is now after sweet revenge for the way he mistreated her in their relationship. She is High Lady of the Night Court, the first High Lady in history, and she is ready to do what ever she can to gain allies and impede war, and to slaughter and destroy her enemies. Surprising confessions are made, shocking secrets and uncovered, relationships bloom and wane. Everything everyone holds dearest could come crumbling down, and it is this anxiety which makes this books so, so entertaining! Each page is a cliff-hanger. One of my favourite parts is a scene where Rhysand gives Feyre a massage after her training. Let’s just say, it gets very intimate!! Even if Feyre and Rhysand gain allies, will they be enough to save their family, their home and the human world? Please read this book if you love romance and adventure and uncertainty! I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

  2. A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN BY SARAH J MAAS is the 3rd high fantasy book in the ACOTAR series. This book had me in TEARS so many times. I am sad to be letting go of Feyre and Rhysand’s story and I don’t think I’m ready AT ALL. I feel as though I prefer the second book compared to this one. I think the reason is because I had such high expectations for certain storylines that never happened and that’s when the hype died. This book was phenomenal though and I am so happy that Sarah J Maas decided to bring in more representation (including more people of colour, LGBTQ characters etc…). The world of ACOTAR will continue next year but not in Feyre’s perspective which breaks my heart. This series is definitely worth the read and it has been my favourite since of last year when I was smart enough to pick it up. It is a long read, as this book was 800+ pages but it was worth every single minute!!! It is action packed with something happening every chapter which is what pulls you into the universe. My favourite character just has to be Amren because of the reveal of her true form. New relationships bloom such as Cassian and Nesta’s which really makes your heart hurt. Sarah J Maas really has a way with her words, expressing all these emotions and feelings and it really gets to you. If you haven’t read picked this book, i assure you that you will feel so much regret when the rest of the spin-off series comes out and you need to catch up. This book gets a 97% from me.
