The blog for books and movies

Jessi knows a secret language! She learned it from Matt Braddock, the BSC’s newest charge. Matt’s been deaf since birth, and he uses sign language to speak. Since Jessi is Matt’s baby-sitter, she has to use sign language, too.

Soon all the kids in Stoneybrook want to learn to sign… which keeps the members of the Baby-sitters Club busy. Jessi’s the busiest of all: she’s working on another super secret, just for Matt.

Will Jessi be able to keep the secret and pull off her special event? Of course she will – she’s a member of the Baby-sitters Club!

  1. The baby – sitters Club. This is such an amazing series of book but one of my favourite ones is Jessi’s secret language. This is such a great book, it is about a girl called Jessi and she has joined the baby sitters club, all the other girls are older than her and mallory (jessi’s friend) so it is a great privilege to be asked to join. A job came up as usual but this was a different type of job, whoever took the job would be looking after the kids all the same but one of the kids was deaf and couldn’t communicate any way apart from sign language. Whoever took the job would have to learn sign language to be able to communicate with the little boy, nobody was willing to do it apart from Jessi. This is heartwarming story about a girl who dedicates her time to learning sign language so she can communicate with this little boy. She even organises a massive surprise for the little boy and all his deaf friends. It will be something that the little boy will remember forever, I rate this book 9/10. I think it would be suitable for girls 10+ I feel that it is aimed to that age group. Honestly read this book, it is actually sooo good!
