The nation of Panem, formed from a post-apocalyptic North America, is a country that consists of a wealthy Capitol region surrounded by 12 poorer districts. Early in its history, a rebellion led by a 13th district against the Capitol resulted in its destruction and the creation of an annual televised event known as the Hunger Games. In punishment, and as a reminder of the power and grace of the Capitol, each district must yield one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 through a lottery system to participate in the games. The ‘tributes’ are chosen during the annual Reaping and are forced to fight to the death, leaving only one survivor to claim victory.
When 16-year-old Katniss’s young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives. She sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.

God this book. The fact that it’s so messed up yet so interesting is so captivating to me. It gives backgrounds to characters which makes them feel more alive. It gives information but not too much at once. It’s perfectly at speed with how my brain is going as I read it. And it just makes sense.
I think what really broke me was Rue’s death. The fact that Rue was such a loveable character and that Katniss could see so many of Prim’s qualities in Rue made it even more devastating. I like to think that Kantiss’ signs of rebellion didn’t start with the berries but instead with when Rue died. Speaking of Rue, when Thresh decides to let Katniss go after he gets Clove off her I felt so bad, knowing he was going to die. Something that also chilled me was when Clove started screaming for Cato and the fact that he answered immediately. He stopped whatever he was doing and just rushed to her. Just to cradle her as she died. I think that’s what really gave me a sharp awakening. The careers aren’t evil and they aren’t the villain. They were just brought up to think that being in the Games is an honour. They were privileged. But in reality, they’re just kids too. Just trying to prove their worth to the Capitol and their district. Snow was truly an awful human.

I love this book! As soon as I read it, I wanted to read it all over again. The rest of the series is just as amazing as the first one and then I even ended up watching the movie. I prefer the books though. This author is very descriptive and is so captivating that it made me want to just keep reading. It is very easy to follow which makes it an easy read. The characters and the plot made the book what it is. Which is amazing. It is so good. I recommend it to anyone who loves an action book and i rate it a 5/5.

I have nit read the book but i have seen the movies. for starters this movie is INCREDIBLE! i just absolutely fell in love with the series. the main two characters are called Peeta and Katniss they are the two tributes from there district to enter the hunger games. what Katniss doesn’t know is that Peeta has always had a crush for her since they first met at school. Katniss thinks that this is just an act to get sponsors.( so that they can have extra supplies). i wont say the rest because of spoiling so i hope you try the movie and the books.

I absolutely love The Hunger Games it is such an interesting read and there is always suspense. I have read it many times over and I just love the plot, it is fun but it also has a lot of meaning behind it which I really enjoy. I love the fact that this book tells us about katniss’s adventure and story but also makes us form a connection with some of the side characters, such as Rue, Gale and Peeta. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes divergent or maze runner as they are quite similar to The Hunger Games. I would recommend it to ages 11 up. i rate this book 10/10

The title of the book is “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place in Panem in a city called the Capitol. The book is about a girl named Katniss, her father died in a mine explosion. She has been looking after her mother and her sister Prim since her father died. Katniss has a friend named Gale that hunts with her on the other side of the fence. They would go hunting to trade with the people at the black market. But they needed to be careful when going over the fence since it is against the law to go and hunt animals but they needed food to eat. They knew the mayor’s daughter Madge and would trade berries since the mayor loved berries. It was time for the Hunger Games and Katniss was very nervous. The Hunger Games is a reality show where a girl and a boy are chosen to play for the district and where 24 tributes must kill one another until only one survives. It was time when everyone gathers at the square to hear the same story from the mayor and when a boy and girl get chosen for the district. After the mayor’s story Effie Trinket, District 12’s escort, came to the podium and called out Prim and Katniss couldn’t let her sister go to the games so she quickly ran up to her pulled her back, and ran up the stage and said: ” I volunteer!”.And the bot district is Peeta Mellark. I would 100% give this book a 10/10 and would recommend it to absolutely everyone. I think I have read this book 100 times! I would recommend this book from 12+ as there are some fighting and disturbing scenes throughout it.

Wow. The Hunger Games was such a thrilling book to read. I love the mystery and dystopian in it and a little bit of romance too. Katniss is such a strong character, and although she is the main character she is definitely my favourite. She decides to take her sister’s place in The Hunger Games to save her, which shows a lot of courage. This book is so well written, leading you on and leaving you wondering who will win. It’s an amazing book to read so go and read it now!

I loved the hunger games as it was full of amazing character and plots. This book has amazing backstories and detailed descriptions. My favourite part is when Katniss and Peeta are in the cave ‘falling in love’ because of how cute it is. My favourite character is Katniss because of how strong and badass she is. I don’t think I can relate to any of the characters. My least favourite part of the book is when Peeta loses his leg because of how hard it is on him. I would change nothing in this book because it is an awesome read and I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone because of how good it is.

I loved this book. I have never watched any of the movies before and my brother had to persuade me to read it but now I don’t why I didn’t earlier! The book has twists and turn all the way along, and at times it will make you want to cry with what the characters had to go through! Now, I don’t want to give anything away, but I can tell you this, some of the things that happen make you just stop reading for a second and just sit there telling yourself, I did not see that coming. I recommend this book for people 12+, since there is a little bit of fighting involved. I cannot wait to finish the series and I hope that you enjoy it as well!

This is the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy. It follows the strong-willed 16-year-old protagonist Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a poor area in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem in North America. The story is based on an annual televised event called the Hunger Games, where one boy and one girl aged between 12 and 18 from each of the twelve districts are selected by a lottery system to compete in a battle to the death.
I loved the edge-of-your-seat writing style that Collins shows throughout the story. It’s filled with action, suspense and futuristic but real-world concerns, and I had to pick up the sequel as soon as I put it down.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. This book left me feeling broken, weeks crying and screaming into my pillow, hating and loving Suzanne Collins at the same time. The hunger games trilogy is an inexplicably outstanding dystopian series. The hatred I feel for some of the characters is so real it makes my blood boil with rage. It is set in a country called Panem, a futuristic North America where society is divided into 12 districts and the Capitol. It represents the inequality we witness in today’s society- the privileged people of the country sit back in their extravagant houses with their unnecessary ornaments and expenses, watching as 24 children (1 boy and 1 girl from each district selected at random from a big glass ball) fight to the death in an arena for an annual televised show called ‘The Hunger Games.’ Katniss Everdeen, without meaning to, sparks a revolution within the districts. Throughout the three books, we follow Katniss’ heartwrenching journey as she makes life-changing decisions, risks her life, develops unbreakable friendships and love. I promise you, this book will leave you feeling incomplete and incomprehensibly sad and angry. I strongly, strongly recommend this book to everyone over the age of 12 or 13, as it is very violent and has a very dark premise. 1000000……./10.

The hunger games book is the most incredible book i have ever read ever! I loved reading it so much that i just couldn’t stop and i read it sooo fast. It really opened up my imagination about the hunger games and the twelve districts competing to see who is the best. The only way to fight and to see who is best they need to chose two people fro each district to compete and it is a lucky dip of who may be chosen. It is an incredible story about how 2 kids fight to survive and win for there district which is the poorest. I rate this book a 10/10 it is my all time favourite book and i recommend this book for ages in 12-16.

I would recommend the book: The Hunger Games. I really enjoyed this book and I could barely put it down!
It’s about a girl called Katniss who’s life is completely controlled by the capitol. She can’t do anything she wants to do without breaking a thousand rules. When her sister, Prim’s name is drawn she takes her place and is sent off to fight to the death of other competitors. Katniss needs to survive in order to fulfill her promise of coming home to her sister. But Peeta, a competitor from her district is mucking up her plans, she can’t kill him, they need to work together in order to win.
I would recommend this book to 12+ seeing as it could be scary or gruesome to younger children. This is a great book for all genders, every person no matter what type of books they like will love this book.
I love how you really get a gruesome, picture in your mind after reading this. Everything is described so well you get an extremely clear picture of what’s going on in this book. So when your next looking for a book I would 100% recommend the hunger games!

The Hunger Games is a thrilling book by Susan Collins. It is about 16 year old Katniss Everdeen who takes part in the Hunger Games where the rule is to kill or be killed. It is such an amazing book that I loved reading because it had lots of suspense, lies, secrets and twists and turns along the way. It has such a great storyline and at night once i had finished reading a few chapters I would lay awake just thinking about it. I would give this book a 9/10 because it is just a great story to read. I would recommend it to people aged 11+

the hunger games book is one of the most amazing books that I have ever read this book follows the journey of young 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen who is on her way to the hunger games after a dramatic turn of events involving her younger sister who was chosen to go into the games in her first reaping at the age of just a mere 12 years old. katniss then volunteers herself as tribute so that her sister may live. this is historic as no one from district 12 has ever volunteered to go into the games. the games are basically an excuse t send 24 people into a remote area in the capital so that they can watch and cheer for there favourites and cry when they die. it is served as a reference to the great war between the districts and the capitol. it is barbaric and horrible but it makes for an amazing book. if you have watched the movies trust me the books are so much better.

The Hunger Games Trilogy is an inexplicably amazing dystopian series. There is so much hype around it, and before I read it, I did not understand. All I knew about it was that a bunch of kids had to go into an arena and fight to the death for national TV. What I didn’t understand before I read this incredible series is the depth that the author goes. There is so much more to it than what I thought beforehand. It is a representation of the inequality in today’s world and how that will continue into the future if we don’t try to change it. It shows the absolute power the Capitol has over the districts and the lengths someone will go to protect their family from starvation and other fatal things. The character development throughout this series is phenomenal, you grow so attached to some characters and despise the others. The backstories of the characters are so well thought out by Suzanne Collins. Katniss Everdeen
(the main character) is such a strong, independent female role model, and Finnick Odair has to be one of my all-time favourite characters from any book. This series had me in tears throughout it and I was downright sobbing by the end. Could not recommend more highly for people 12+ (it is quite violent and the premise is very dark so you need to be able to handle it and understand it)!! 9.9/10 🙂

I really liked this book as well as the movie, although the movie wasn’t as good, I don’t think, so I will be reviewing the book!! My favourite scene in the book is either the end of the games, or the start of the book where she ‘Volunteers as Tribute!!’. I love these parts so much since they show such rebellion and courage and are amazing!!! Katniss shows so much love to her sister and such hate for the Capitol!!! It’s so good!! My favourite character is either Katniss or Peeta. Katniss has such skill with a bow and arrow, (that I am soooo jealous of!), and such control and responsibility, although I really don’t like how she plays with Peeta and Gale… It really frustrates me!!! I LOVE Peeta because he is so nice to Katniss, even though she is mean and cold to him. He only wants to be himself and not be affected by the Capitol!! How CUTE is he!!!! I also love Rue!!!! Like… Who doesn’t???? My least favourite part of the book is kind of a spoiler for anyone who hasn’t read the books, but it’s about the Star-Crossed Lovers and it’s reality and how Katniss only goes to Peeta when he is useful to her! PEETA DESERVES BETTER!!! I f I could change anything, it would be her feelings I would change!!! I would recommend this book to people who like action adventures and books about competitions, or people who have read and liked Fire and Flood!!

i really enjoyed the hunger games: Catching fire. It has so much detail in it and it really takes you away and you feel like you are in the story. It is one of those books that are hard to put down because it is so enjoyable. Its about how 24 previous victors of the Hunger game go into a arena and fight to the death, until one victor remains. My favourite character is Finick because he is super talented in water and although he looks very intimidating he is very sweet when you get on his good side. if you ask me i give this book a 10/10 !!!!

Some would consider The Hunger Games trilogy to be a YA classic along with titles like Harry Potter and Divergent; and it’s not hard to see why.
The first book of the Hunger Games is thrilling and very difficult to put down, with an extremely well-developed world named Panem and likeable characters that are easy to root for. My personal favourite character is Peeta, as his selflessness is often overlooked and I found myself rereading many of the scenes with just Peeta and Katniss alone.
I recommend this book for anyone aged 12+ who likes other books such as Twilight or Divergent.
The fact that this book was published in 2008 and is STILL getting hype proves how amazing it is; I absolutely loved this book and promise you will not regret reading it 🙂

The book is about a world in future America which is divided into 12 districts and a Capitol. Katniss lives in District 12, the poorest district. She and her family are struggling to provide for themselves when Katniss goes to compete in the hunger games. I really liked Katniss and Peeta’s relationship in this book and I like Rue. The Hunger Games was an amazing book!!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, when I read it for the first time in grade 6. Katniss is an amazingly strong teenage girl and is ready to stand up for what she believes in and I think she is a great role model.
The book follows Katniss, who lives in a world where two kids from each of the thirteen districts in her country are made to fight to death for the entertainment of the people in the Capitol. The Hunger Games is great read, and absolutely impossible to put down. I would recommend it to any over the age of 11 who is into action packed books/movies and would love to get lost in a great book series. I give it 10/10!!!!

The hunger games is the best book by far. It is set in the future 64 years after a big war when it says the “capital” saved them all. There is 12 little poor city’s and one big rich city (the capital). Each year the capital take one girl and one boy ages 12 to 18 to the capital to fight to the death till one person lives. It is a dark and sad book but it will still have moments that makes you laugh. it is set in the perspective of a girl named Katniss Everdeen and in the first book she was 16. There is also movies for each of the books but they do not have as much detail (I recommend reading the book the watch the movie). I defiantly recommend reading/watch the movies.

The hunger games books and series are a must read. You will love the strength shown by Katnis and Peta in the face of adversity. The storyline is gripping and thrilling sure to have you turning pages and reading as fast as you can. The general storyline is that the world has been spilt into 14 districts and each year a hunger game occurs where children and chosen to fight for their lives. There is no other book or series out there like it. I would 10/10 recommended if you haven’t already read them get going now.

The Hunger Games is about a pair of teenagers, Katniss and Peeta picked out of a pool of helpless children from their district to fight for theIr life in an arena filled with 22 other kids in the same situation as them, they are all tributes of the 74th annual hunger games. The capitol find this, a fight to the death, as a source of entertainment, they place bids whilst the 12 district whom have just lost 2 innocent kids hope for the victor, the lone victor to be from their district. Luckily, Katniss and Peeta have a strategy, they need to stage themselves as the ‘star crossed lover’s from district twelve’ hoping that the capitol is merciful. In the stress of the games Katniss and Peeta grow closer but is it just a show? Or have they actually developed feeling for each other? And it may not even be worth it, after all there’s only one survivor, or is there?

The Hunger Games is an action packed book. And I love it so much. The story line is full of twists and turns and full of surprises that made me leap out of my chair and scream every-time (I get very involved in my books sometimes) I really loved this book and I give it a 10/10 it does get pretty gruesome in some parts but that doesn’t change anything for me. I recommend this book to people 13+ .

I love the Hunger Games because I can relate to Catness’ position. I guess I would have done the same to my younger sister to save her. My favourite character would have to be Rue, because she saved Catness’ life. My favourite part of the movie was when Catness stood up for herself and shot the bow and arrow at the apple to get the scorers attention. I would recommend this to 12+ and I would rate this 10/10.

The story line of it is just great its about a girl called Katniss and she lives if a society were there are game held every year not for prizes but for there lives this book had me gripped from the start right thought to the end the are some truly gruesome part that the description is so good i could imagine ands see it like i was there there are many undeserved deaths that will live you heart broken but speaking of hearts Katniss definitely breaks her share of them. You must read this book it has everything ,courage, love, and rebellion and if you do read it may the odds be ever in your favour.

This book was INCREDIBLE! Katniss’s amazing story is gripping from the very first page, right through to the very end. The book truly begins when Katniss runs forth to take her sister’s place in The Hunger Games. I began this book, intending to read a few chapters, and ended up reading 250 pages! This books twisting plot keeps you wrapped around its pinkie the entire time, and leaves you dying for more at the last page. This book is a must read for any fantasy, action loving readers.

The hunger games is an AMAZING book !! It follows a girl called Katniss, who is entered into the hunger games, (a battle to the death) after she volunteers on behalf on her younger sister, Prim. There, she has to fight for her survival against all the other districts volunteers, until only one remains. It is quite gruesome in some parts, but if you love action and adventure novels, this book is definately a must read ! My favourite character in this book was Rue, as she was so strong and brave. I found her death scene so sad and heartbreaking to watch, as she truly didn’t deserve to die !!

The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins is a phenomenal book that I recommend for 11 years of age onwards. The Hunger Games tells a unique story about 13 districts situated In the post-apocalyptic future. Every year there is a reaping where each district chooses one courageous man and women between the ages of 12 and 18 to compete in the hunger games. Kill or be killed the capitol says. All 24 competitors have to go through an interview, a scoring panel, sponsors and a solid two weeks of minimal food, people hunting them and a destructive biome. To add to all this the capitol can do anything they want inside the games!! I absolutely loved this book and thankfully the movie does it complete justice. The story line leaves you on the edge of your sit, luring you into the next page. Definitely a 10/10!!! I’m so happy I got the chance to read this amazing novel. ‘Thank you for your consideration’ and ‘may the odds ever be in your favour’… 🏹😆

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a really good book series. It has action and adventure, fantasy and more. I don’t have a favourite part, there are lots of good bits! My favourite characters are Prim, because she is really kind and caring, Rue, because she is brave and sweet, and Katniss, because she is brave and loyal! My least favourite part is probably when Rue dies, or all of the killing! But it is a great series with lots of twists and turns, if you like action and adventure I would definitely recommend it!

The hunger games is a really good book. I love it and I think the universe that Suzanne Collins created with this amazing trilogy is just so well thought out and creative and it’s just such a fascinating book. It starts off in a Dystopian future where there are twelve districts which are all heavily controlled by the capital. The main character, Katniss Everdeen is a teenager who’s family suffers heavily from the lack of rations for District Twelve, the poorest district. After her father’s death, her mother is unable to provide for her and her younger sister, Prim, and Katniss is forced to use the hunting skills that she learnt from her father. At the Annual Hunger Games reaping, Prim’s name is drawn from the hat, however Katniss volunteers in Prim’s place, meaning that she has to compete in the games. This book is incredibly well thought out and I believe that it deserves a 9/10 for the creativity and how innovative it is.

This book is set in the future a time after war and the effects of global warming and in a now north America. Children have to fight to the death for the Capital entertainment. When I first opened up the first book of the hunger games it hooked me straight away I don’t think I stoped reading. It was packed with action, adventure, romance and mystery. The way how Katniss acts to feed and protect her family and I admire how she is always so brave. the character I like the most would either be Prim (or her cat) because she(prim isn so sweet and kind and cares for everyone but she is a little shy at the start of the book but through out the series she warms up. Many books have been based of the hunger games or the author wrote a same sort of problem and solution but there all different some examples are fire and flood, twilight, maze runner and much more Suzanne Collins made you feel like you were in the story as well as Katniss which is why I would say that the hingers deserves a place on the bookshelf next to Harry Potter and The Land of Stories.

The Hunger games movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has so much entertainment in it. I have watched it so many times and still cant get over how good it is. My favourite character is Katniss Everdeen because she is so brave, kind, caring and courages. My favourite part in the movie is when Katniss and Peter have to figure out who will win. My least favourite part in the movie is when Rue dies. She was such a young, brave and kind little girl. I was so upset when I saw her die. I would rate this movie a 10/10 and would recommend it anyone over the age of 12 because it is a little scary and confusing at some parts.

My favourite part of the movie was when Katniss volunteered for her sister because it was very emotional. The Huger Games is one of the world’s most popular series. One of my favourite too. I do admit it takes a little while to get to the best parts of the book. trust me it’s worth it. Katniss is such a brave and smart woman and she is just really such a important put to the story. About: 12 districts, 2 people (one female, one male), everyone fight for their lives with no prize but getting out alive. every night less and less people are alive. It’s so thrilling exciting. by far one of my favourite books ever.

WOW!! I have read this book so many times and I absolutely love it. Personally, I don’t think the movie is as good as the book, but I still enjoyed it anyway. Katniss’s story is a very sad one with the loss of her father who she seemed to have a very close relationship with.
I felt very moved when Katniss’s volunteered for her sister, it must have been such a hard thing to see her against all odds be chosen to go into the games.
Katniss’s showed great courage and really how much she loves and cares for her sister when she volunteered a tribute. Susanne Collins has done a fabulous job at giving us her idea of the future for the human race. Far altered from reality at the moment. Her predictions are hopefully far from true. Two children from each district go into the games. Battling for no prize but their lives. I would highly recommend the hunger games for anyone looking for a great read! 8/10!!!

Hunger Games is such an amazing book. I couldn’t put it down. My mum told me that I had to stop reading so that I could get ready in the morning. The constant thrills and suspense hooks you on from the start.
The main character, a sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen, is such a well made character, unlike lots of other characters you read in many other books. Katniss volunteers to take her younger sister, Prim’s, place in the hunger games. Its a gruesome game where twelve districts fight to the death.
My favourite character was probably Rue. She was such a light in a dark time. She was so little but so smart. Suzanne Collins created such a wonderful world. This is a book that surely wont disappoint!

I read this book a few years ago and I absolutely loved it. I was sucked in in the first couple of chapters. my favorite character would have to be Katniss Everdeen. Katniss is my favorite because she is so determined and she is also very caring for her little sister Primrose. She shows this when Primrose is chosen to go into the games and Katniss volunteers as tribute and she goes in instead. I rate this book a 9/10.

Katniss faces many bumps throughout her journey but always keep fighting and finds ways to get out of sticky situations.if you like suspenseful books that u struggle to put down then you will love the Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games book was a thrilling beginning to a incredible series, following Katniss Everdeen as she fights for her life alongside Peeta, a boy from her home town also fighting for his life, who she cam’t decide whether to trust him or not. Suzanne Collins was very clever in planning out the universe, and subtly dealing with our real world issues. I admire this book and the cleverness of the governments schemes, and I am still fascinated by the layout of their society. I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone, as everyone should at least give this masterpiece a go. I rate it 9/10.

The Hunger Games is an amazing movie following a young Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence. In her world, the capitol maintains its hold by forcing each of the 12 districts to select one boy and girl to compete in the nationally televised event called the Hunger Games, where only one can live. Unfortunately in the current year, Katniss is chosen to participate in the games where she will have to fight 11 other young boys and girls to the death. I 100% recommend this to those looking for an adventure and thrilling movie with a trace of romance.

This book is a must read! It definitely is a classic, and you will not be able to put the book down until you finish it. It is so interesting and the concept of the hunger games is so original and creative (though very tragic) and suzzane collins is simply a genius for coming up with it. I feel as though this book takes you into the mind of Katniss Everdeen so well, that you are able to empathise with her very well. However, i feel like the love triangle in the book was not needed and ruined the potential to make Katniss a strong female lead who can do without complicated relationships on her journey. But the book is very well written, and i would recommend it to anyone.

This book was sooooooo good!! My favourite part in the book was when Katniss took her sister’s place in the games. This showed lots of courage and I don’t think I would be able to do that. I would rate this book a 10/10 as It is full of action, romance, drama and adventure. This book would be suited for people aged 13-17 as for younger people it may be difficult to read.

What an incredible book! The Hunger Games is like no other book, it is so imaginative and unique and is extremely well written by Suzanne Collins. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Katniss is an amazingly strong girl and is ready to stand up for what she believes in. I think she is a great role model. The world that Katniss lives in is completely dark and terrifying, and their idea for fun is watching kids fight to survive. The Hunger Games is great read, and I would recommend it to any over the age of 11 who is into action packed books/movies. I give it 10/10!!!!

The Hunger Games is such a fun and thrilling book to read! I read this book and instantly fell in love with it! I read the whole series within a week! This gripping novel captures you from the start, and once you start, there is no going back. I loved Katniss and her strong whit- power and determination in order to help her starving family. The theme of romance is evident in this book, as we see Katniss and Peeta develop an unexpected romance, and having this romance is what makes them both more determined to power on and win! I cant say what my favourite part or least favourite part is because that would give away too much! I recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of blood and gory, but don’t let this discourage you, it’s brilliant and a great read who loves some action.!

The hunger games books and series are a must read. You will love the strength shown by Katnis and Peta in the face of adversity. The storyline is gripping and thrilling sure to have you turning pages and reading as fast as you can. The general storyline is that the world has been spilt into 14 districts and each year a hunger game occurs where children and chosen to fight for their lives. There is no other book or series out there like it. I would 10/10 recommended if you haven’t already read them get going now.

When this book first came out I couldn’t wait to read it and when I finally did, I was definitely not disappointed. The hunger games is an amazing book that you can never put down. My part of the book is when Katniss has to make the dissuasion to stand up for what she believes in or stay silent like everyone else.
My favourite character is Rue as she is a 12 year old who has to face many problems and finds a way to overcome every problem she is a friendly girl who will make a difference in everyones hearts. I can relate to Rue as a person because she is tough but small and can make a difference even though she is just 12.
If i could change something in the book the only thing i would change is that they had a side to Peeta’s story. It met my criteria at every turn even though it turned out only the victor of the hunger games would be the only one left standing it was fun to read and easy to understand.
i would recommend this book to everyone because will make everyone feel like it is ripping out your heart and has a meaning behind it and although it is a bit gruesome it is a magical story 10\10.

There are 12 districts, and every year one boy and one girl are chosen from each district to go into the arena to fight. My favourite part of this book was (if you haven’t read this book yet, then don’t read this next part!) when Katniss told Peeta to eat the berries to save them both. I think that was a really significant event in the book, as it is the key to the series. I think the type of person that would like this book would be someone who loves a book that keeps you on the edge of your chair dying to know what will happen next. I think also if you like a bit of romance or adventure, this is definitely the book for you. Overall, I rate The Hunger Games a 4/5!

The Hunger Games is a sad yet thought provoking book that i got hooked on the minute I read the first page.
My favourite part in this novel is when its down to the final 3 in the games and its an epic battle on top of the Cornucopia between Katniss, Peeta and Cato.
My heart was beating faster than a race car as the suspense built up throughout the book.
My favourite character would have to be Katniss Everdeen for i fell in love with her bravery, compassion and belief in herself.
The way she would sacrifice herself for her loved ones touched my heart. I can relate to her bravery and riskiness throughout the games as I would do anything to save my siblings as she did with Prim.
The concept of the story may be awful but that doesn’t change the fact that its a great novel. I would definitely recommend this to people who like action, romance, suspense and adventure.

I really enjoyed this book, The Hunger Games. IIt is definitely one of my favourite books that I have read, and I have read it at least 5 times! It continuously keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what will happen. My favourite character is definitely Katniss because I love how she is so brave and shows true loyalty, love and dedication to her sister Prim. I love how strong and determined she is, and how she never stops trying. This is an action packed book, and one you can definitely can’t put down until your finished. I would definitely recommend this book to 12+ and i would rate it 10/10

I recommend the book and movie ‘The Hunger games’.
This story is set in a dystopian nation called Panem. It is divided into the Captiol and the 12 districts, getting poorer and worse off as they go. Katniss Everdeen lives in the 12th, with her mother and younger sister.
Once a year, two children/teenagers are chosen from each district, a boy and a girl. They then compete in what is called the Hunger Games. It is literally a game of kill or be killed, and the last person standing wins. Every year, the contestants are picked randomly.
This time, Katniss’ sister Primrose is drawn. Katniss is distraught, and volunteers to take her sister’s place. This story is about trust, loyalty, love and fear.
I love the story (although it’s definitely not for the faint hearted. Beware of blood and gore!) and the film is a very good representation, with Jennifer Lawrence playing Katniss.

I love the hunger games from the first page all the way to the last will have you hooked. I just couldn’t put the book down. It is full of action and adventure. The main character is a brave strong woman who will end up in a game where she will be fighting for her life. Its an incredible book sires witch I strongly recommend!

I loved the Hunger Games Book 1 it was amazing and I have never read a book like it before. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss and Peeta ended up winning the games. My favourite character would of had to been Katniss. She is a fighter and a nice person. The least favourite part of the book was when Rue died it was really sad. Overall I rate the book 9.5/10!!!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I could not put this book down! which doesn’t happen very often for me. It took me so much quicker to finish this book compared to other books. It such a exciting, adventurous and courages book. [The hunger games is a game where you basically have to kill or be killed]. Without giving any spoilers one of my favourite parts of this book would have to be when Katniss volunteered as tribute for district 12 in the early parts of the hunger games instead of her younger sister going in. My favourite character in this book without a doubt has to be the main character Katniss because she is really brave and courageous character Katniss was also such a clever courages and strong minded character. dont really think I can relate to any of the characters personalities as well as hers. I probably would recommend this book to just about anybody as its very enjoyable, entertaining and keeps you wanting more because its such a great book, I would rate it 9.5/10. I think that basically anybody would fall in love with this book besides younger or less mature readers.

I love the hunger games series, I love the books and movies. One of the heartbreaking moments in the hunger games was when Prim-rose got chosen to go to the hunger games but Katniss (her older sister) volunteered. Whenever I see that part, I always think about what if that was me, what if that was my family. It really did shatter me. But sometimes it’s those sad and dramatic parts that make the book interesting. It was also very VERY sad when Rue died, it was truly heart breaking. In this book I like how they included a lot of detail which helped my imagination explode of imaginary pictures to match the scenes. I could imagine everything! I imagined the background, the looks of the characters, the camera angles, basically I imagine how it would look like if I were watching it, like in the movies. I ABSOLUTELY recommend reading and watching the hunger games series.

‘The Hunger Games’ is a fantastic read, many times are you surprised with the twists and turns of the story line. Although ‘The Hunger Games’ is about a girl called Katniss Everdeen, my all-time favourite character in this book is Katniss’ little sister, Prim. She is courageous, selfless and is always looking out for other people. Prim’s mother is a nurse, and treats people in the district and even though Prim sometimes finds many injuries frightful, she is always persistent to get them better. It is a super read, and action packed. Although it is a good book, it contains a fair bit of violence when the contestants enter The Hunger Games. Many are slaughtered or killed by the Game Makers. It would probably be appropriate to recommend ages 11+. Suzanne Collins is a very talented writer and has a great relationship with words.

I loved the Hunger Games so much because it was thrilling and I was always excited on what was on the next page. My favourite part was the part where Katniss and Peeta had won and one of them had to die so the other could win. This part was cute because both of them wanted to die for each other and I just really liked. My favourite character is Peeta because he was so considerate to Katniss even if it was to get sponsors. I love this book so much I have read it so many times and each time I read it I can’t put it down, even though I knew what was going to happen. This book is suitable for people that like intense books and are in for a good adventure. Any person can read it because it is easy to understand.

DEFINITELY read this before the movie! I love this book so much and it shocks me every time I read it. I really like how the book has so much detail even if it is about how gruesome everything is but that is definitely one of the things that the movie didn’t catch. My favourite character is Prim and I love her cat, Buttercup. If you like action and a bit of gore, I 100% recommend this book to you. It is a must read!

The Hunger Games is an action and sci-fi movie that contains deaths and survivors. The director Garry Ross shows us a country that is divided into 13 districts. The people must fight against each other, to survive the toughest and brutal Hunger Games. Only two people from each district from one to twelve are put into the games. The thirteenth district is not a part of the games after an incident that happened but it gets introduced to the people in the other movies as everyone thinks district thirteen is dead. Katniss Everdeen joins The Hunger Games after a tragic event after her sister’s name gets drawn out, instead Katniss willing volunteers in her sister place. Katniss learns survival skills that help her throughout the game. Katniss builds a love relationship throughout the game with Peeta Mellark as he was the male that got chosen from her district but this makes Katniss decide who she falls for as she has another boyfriend. These two find themselves in lots of trouble as they don’t know what to expect as they have never killed anyone before.

I loved the movie the hunger games because it was action packed and thrilling to watch. I also like it because it is not the type of movie I would usually go for but surprisingly I enjoyed this. My favourite part of the movie was when Katniss volunteered for her sister because it was very emotional. I don’t particularly relate to any of the characters but my favourite character would have to be Katniss because she is so brave and would do anything to save her sister. I recommend this movie to everyone ages 13+ because it is such an awesome movie, I rate it 8.5/10.

It is such a jaw dropping, nail biting and heart warming book about how an ordinary girl goes and fights in the hunger games to bring her family and district to justice and meets some amazing characters along the way. The hunger games can really leave you either crying from sadness or from happiness. It’s an amazing book and 10/10 recommend.

The hunger Games. T’is quite a book. Filled with romance, strategy, drama, thrill, action, violence and an insanely creative plot line, it would have to be my favourite book. 24 competitors are selected from 12 different districts, and are placed in an arena to fight to the death for the entertainment of others. The protagonist, Katniss Everdeen is my favourite character because she is such a wonderful role model for all girls. She is so determined and clever. Although in a foreign world and scenario she is often very relatable. This incredible book by Suzanne Collins will leave you breathless and will be impossible to put down. I would suggest this for teens and even any adults that feel like having a read. It can really be a book for anyone because it has so many popular themes in it and fits into many categories.

The Hunger Games is the first novel in Suzanne Collins’ thrilling trilogy. I absolutely loved all three books but in particular the first one. My favourite character was obviously Katniss Everdeen. How could she not be? Katniss is the teenage female heroine who inspires young girls all across the world to be brave and determined. Whilst Katniss is a heroine we also see her faced with the normal woes of teenage girls – aka boy drama. Katniss is both an inspiring yet relatable character. My favourite scene is the opening ceremony of the Hunger Games where we see the district 12 underdogs rise far above everyone’s expectations. My least favourite parts of the book are the harrowing scenes during the games. If I could change one thing about the book it would be the very end exchange between Peter and Katniss but you will have to read it to decide for yourself. All in all, The Hunger Games is a great book that I can’t recommend enough.

I have read many books, and by far this would be my favourite. If you’re searching for an adventure/ romance book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, get The Hunger Games. In this book, your perception on who is evil and who is good changes a lot, but you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. Their intense emotions embellish all of the action in this book. It’s set in the future, and the future isn’t nice. The main character Katniss faces many harsh choices in the book, and you’ll be reading everything she’s thinking! I highly recommend this book, it’s a great read. 9/10

This book was fantastic and would definitely be recommended by me to anyone who loves a good read. Their was action, adventure, thrill and even a little bit of romance in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I enjoyed the fact that I was always guessing on what would happen next and couldn’t wait to turn the page to find out what comes next. I found it fantastic how the author wrote the main character as a strong, independent female. She could stand her ground, was cunning, and could solve her problems for herself and not depend on a knight to help her run away from them, she faced them head on. Honestly I don’t know which side I am on, Peta or Gale, they both have great aspects to them, but I’d rather Katniss end up alone or find someone else except from them to change the generic line of that part of the story. Overall The Hunger Games was an amazing book and i would rate it a 9/10.

I first started reading ’The Hunger Games’ in the summer holidays after the end of year four. I was unsure of what I thought about it and so I left it for a little while. I then went back to it a couple of months later and found that I could not put it down! This book is set in a future dystopian society where every year, 2 young people from each of the 12 districts (except for the capital) are sent to compete against each other in a fight for survival. My favourite character is definitely Katniss as I love how strong-willed she is. I also really loved Rue. She was such a sweet character!
I would definitely recommend this book to people as I feel like it really introduced a new genre of books to me. This is just such a great book filled with romance, suspense, gore (only occasionally) and rebellion. I would give this book an full five out of five stars.

The first thing that struck me about the book, beyond the smart, polished prose and the immediately compelling protagonist Katniss, was the depth of insight into human life which Collins so deftly exhibits. Almost from the first page, as with Rowling’s Potter novels, the reader is struck with a sense that here is something special—that often ineffable quality which so many writers lust to possess but which is rarely achieved, that this book in some strange way resonates with the deepest realities of human existence, or at least of human existence at this time in history.

Everybody who has read the ‘Hunger Games’ or has watched the movie knows how good it is. There is action and adventure, challenges and determination, but the main character Katniss Everdeen perseveres through it all. The Hunger Games is about the competition of the ‘Hunger Games’. A boy and a girl are chosen from each district and are taken to the Capital city where they compete to death. The boy or girl who is still alive at the end is the winner. In district 12 where Katniss lives, her younger sister Prim, who is in the reaping for the first time, is called out, basically to death. Katniss volunteers to takes her spot as she knows she will have a better chance. She is then chosen with Peeta, the boy. They go on this crazy and thrilling journey of adventure. There is romance, times when you will cry, times when you will cheer and times when you will show hate. You have to read it to see how good it is! I would recommend this series to anyone who is a lover of a thriller and adventure with a good plot that will keep you obsessed! I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 11 or 12. I rate this book and series a 10/10!

I have read all the books and seen all the movies, and they just keeping getting better and better. I really couldn’t put down the books and my eyes were glued to the tv. The Hunger Games is one of my favourite books ever! I have seen the movie but I advise reading the book first because it gives you an insight into how the games work and what horrific events occur in the arena. I love how each chapter ends in a page turner. One of my favourite things about this book is the relationship between Katniss and Prim. The fact that Katniss volunteers to take her sister’s place shows how much they love each other. I feel awful for Peeta because he has always loved Katniss but Katniss is oblivious to the fact that he loves her, considering all that is going on in her life. Above all, I really liked this book and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for an action-pack novel. Rating: 10/10

These books are so well thought through and some of the best books I’ve ever read they are so intriguing to read. the movies were just as good as the books and had lots of action and adventure. my favourite character was Effie I just found her hilarious and touching at the same time. this is a series that you have to read and even if your not into reading watch the movies! It inspired me to write more creatively and think about the storyline further. I hope that people will consider these books because they are heaps of fun to read and have a cool theme about them.

I read this book roughly two years ago, before than I didn’t read much, as I didn’t really enjoy reading. But this book changed all that.
I was addicted to this book, the plot, and although some people may find Katniss’s stubborn/rebellious personality annoying, I loved it. I would give this book a 10/10!
The plot is there are 12 districts, forced to work for the capital, who are much richer, and have more/better resources. There used to be 13 districts, until there was an uprising and as punishment the capital bombed district 13 and created the hunger games, where 2 teenagers from the age of 12-18, 1 boy and 1 girl, are picked to fight to the death on live TV.

The Hunger Games is probably one of my favourite books and movie (considering that Liam Hemsworth is in the movie!)
I have been hooked to this series ever since I bought my first book, and can’t get enough of it. Its a very drama thriller book, that will get you on the edge of your sit or where ever you’re sitting while reading. I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading a drama book and who enjoys reading a series of books.

The Hunger Games- Action Aplenty
The Hunger Games is an amazing book about a girl called Katniss Everdeen From District Twelve. Katniss’s younger sister is picked for the hunger games. The hunger games is an annual TV show where two people from each of the Twelve districts ( a female and a male ) are picked to compete in the hunger games with the aim of trying to be the last one standing. So Katniss volunteered to go instead of her younger sister. This novel is an amazing read and I recommend this book for every one 11 and up.

The Hunger Games: Suzanne Collins
I really enjoyed this book and it was one of those books where I couldn’t let myself put down no matter how many times I was told to go to sleep. My favourite part in this book was when Katniss and Peta sacrifice their lives in order to live at the very end. They ended up making a movie out of the book and surprisingly the directors did it really well and it matched up nicely unlike some book/ movies. The book was quite large but considering I found myself unable to put it down I didn’t mind it and ended up finishing the book quite quickly and moving onto the next book. I found that the book was written really well and was easy to understand at my age level. I would recommend this book for those who enjoy thrill and fights. 8/10

A thriller movie that includes tears, love and disasters. Suzanne writes about two teens Katniss and Peta. After a war the world was split into 13 districts. Over time the 13th district was written out and blown up leaving only 12. Katniss and Peta are both from the coal, District 12. Every year an annual ‘Hunger Games’ is held in the main city ‘The Capital’. After Katniss’ sister, Primrose was picked out at random Katniss volunteered. Then Peta was picked out and they both said their goodbyes and were sent off to the capital. The two teens train hard for months and end up ‘falling in love’ for the publicity until it becomes real. In the end they win the hunger games as they are left the last two standing and become district 12 legends. It was an amazing novel and I enjoyed every part of reading it. 8/10

I really enjoyed the book the hunger games. The main character Katniss Everdeen is elected into the hunger games which is a game where people fight to the death and the last person standing wins. Read this book to find out what happens to Katniss and Peeta Mellark the boy who is madly in love with Katniss, and follow their action packed journey! The first hunger games book is absolutely fantastic, it was of one of the minority of books I can’t put down and genuine enjoyed. It was a book starring Katniss Everdeen and Peter Mellark. It was a book about war and family and life struggles, although it also had a love story within. Peeta is absolutely in love with Katniss and when he gets put in the Hunger Games with her they become allies and are romantic beneath all the chaos. The pair then start to get sponsored and become capital favourites and are known as the star crossed lovers from district 12. Although they do love each other they are sort of faking it to make it. At the end they are the last two standing and go to both poisonous berries because neither of them could live without each other, well at least thats what they had the capital thinking. They were about to eat them when they got told the games were over, they had both won. this made President Snow very unhappy, and he needs to get even with them, but that will all unfold in the next book in the trilogy. I strongly recommend anyone to read this book, I read it when I was about 11-12, and I adored it.

hunger games is just amazing full stop. i think this book is such a great read and i would highly suggest watching the movie as well. the book has violence horror and most importantly romance. the hunger games book takes you through an amazing journey and captures you from from start to finish. this book is so sad starting with the reaping which was where 24 kids were picked out of many to face either survival or death… only one of those 24 people could go home and the rest were killed in the hunger games arena where it as watched on big screens at home by the public. Hunger games is so make believe and i recommend it for ages 11 and over i would also recommend watching the movie its great (P.S-Liam Hemsworth is in it so yeh… )

The Hunger Games book is an amazing book, it is full of action and adventure. I could not stop reading it the moment I picked the book up. The book is so unexpected in some points. It is in an alternate universe, where there are 12 districts and one capitol. Each year, two tributes (one male and one female) are sacrificed. They fight it out till only one person remains. The victor. I definitely recommend this book for anyone. 10/10.

I really enjoyed this book, The Hunger Games. It has a very unique storyline, that I have never read anything like it. It keeps you on edge, wanting to know what will happen. I love that Katniss was so brave in that she stepped in for her sister Prim. This shows true loyalty, love and dedication to her sister Prim. I love how strong and determined she is, and how she will stop at nothing to ensure she wins the hunger games. I love hwo she is not scared to rebel against the rules although she is already aware for the consequences. I like the character Peeta, as I felt that even though he was not as confdent a brave, he had a big heart and cared for Katniss. I felt bad for him, as he clearly was not comfortable in the hunger games and not a experienced in fighting for survival. This is an action packed book, that also has very deep and meaningful parts in th book also. I would definitly recommend this book.

Wow. I was barely able to put this book down for a second after the first few pages got me hooked. The Hunger Games is a compelling novel focusing on life in a strict society in which young people must compete to the death in the annual “Hunger Games”. The main character, Katniss Everdeen volunteers for the Hunger Games to keep her younger sister from being required to participate and her experiences are the heart of the novel. I admire Katniss Everdeen because of her bravery, determination and strength, she would definitely have to be my favourite character! I loved this book!!

The Hunger Games, like no other book out there. A stand out favourite of mine. I loved this book so much, the concept, the whole imagination used and overall, the characters. Katniss, the sweet but stubborn girl on fire. Great with a bow and arrow and very determined. Peter, he is the boy who worked at his family’s bakery and gave Katniss a purposely burnt bit of bread when he saw her lying on the ground, even though he knew that he would be punished for it. He is caring and kind and always puts others before himself.
The Hunger Games is a book about a girl named Katniss who lives in the poorest district, district 12. The Hunger games is an event that happens every year. One boy and One girl are chosen to compete to the death. The reward…you live.

This book is so amazing. It is like the movie which a lot of people have seen but there is some differences. It is such a descriptive book and is worth the read. Even if you have seen the movie before you read the book it is still amazing. I watched the movie first and then read the book but it is still very intreating to read and you don’t want to put it down. I would recommend this book for people 12 and over because its not the easiest read. I would rate this book 9/10.

this book is actually amazing, i have to admit i did see the movie before i read the book, but as soon as i saw the movie i said to my mum can you buy me that book and i didn’t know that we already had it so the next day i started reading and i kept on reading and reading until i was finished and i could not put the book down i was addicted. my favourite character is katniss of course. this book had me hooked i read all of the other books in trilogy and read all of the books around 4 times i love them so much

I recently read this book and instantly fell in love with it! I read the whole series within a week! This gripping novel captures you from the start, and once you start, there is no going back. The story is about a girl named Katniss, who is forced to fight to the death in the Hunger Games until only one remains. There are 12 districts, and every year one boy and one girl are chosen from each district to go into the arena to fight. My favourite part of this book was (if you haven’t read this book yet, then don’t read this next part!) when Katniss told Peeta to eat the berries to save them both. I think that was a really significant event in the book, as it is the key to the series. I think the type of person that would like this book would be someone who loves a book that keeps you on the edge of your chair dying to know what will happen next. I think also if you like a bit of romance or adventure, this is definitely the book for you. Overall, I rate The Hunger Games a 4/5!

Katniss the main charter lives in district 12 with her mother and her sister prim. she is a terrific hunter an hunts every day with her friend Gale. all Katniss wants to do is keep her family alive but when the day of the reaping comes everything goes downhill. I recommend this book to 12+ year olds. when you pick it up you won’t put it down!

This book is a fantastic book, it is definitely something to read if you love all kinds of adventure, fantasy, suspense an a little bit of romance. I really loved how there is something different on each page, you never know whats going to happen. You will never want to stop reading because it is so extreme an just draws you in. The author describes the book so well that you feel included. My favourite character by far is Katniss because she is so curious and stunning. The hunger games is a book that you HAVE to read. I was so sad when it finished. I can’t wait to read the next two. I recommend this book to 12+ it is a great book for everyone.

This book is AMA-ZING!! I loved watching the movie but the book was by far the best. It is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss who participates in the hunger games which are basically “killing games”. My favourite part in the book was when Katniss put the flowers around Rue and then did the three fingered salute. It was so powerful and emotional. My favourite character is Prim because she is so kind, and so caring, she is really brave and responsible because she takes care of her mother so well. I rate this book 9/10 and recommend it to boys and girls 12 years and up

I strongly recommend reading the series “The Hunger Games,” if you liked watching the movies because the books are much better than the movies. In the books there are more events that happen and there are more details. They are an adventurous, thrilling, tragic and romantic action novels.The book goes more into depth than the movies do. The books are appropriate for high school students as they ages are relatable to the characters. I would rate them 8/10.

The Hunger Games is truly an amazing book. It’s so gripping and it takes you to another world. I love this book because it is so interesting and different to what we experience in our everyday lives, yet it could be somewhat similar to what they future may be like. It is about a 16 year old girl who takes her sisters spot in ‘The hunger games’; fighting for her life in a stadium filled with traps, forests, lakes and open grounds just to entertain people from the capitol. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss drops the nest of tracker jackers on the careers. It was a very tense part of the book and I really felt for Katniss. I became absolutely obsessed with this book within the first couple of chapters and finished it in three days. Katniss is such a strong-minded, stubborn character and this makes the book so interesting because at times I can relate to it. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of action, romance and drama I would have to rate it a 10/10!

‘The Hunger Games’ by Suzanne Collins is such an amazing book! It is about a young girl named Katniss, who is sent to a place called the Capitol to compete in a deadly game called the Hunger Games where the aim of the game is to be the last one surviving. A fast-paced and extremely well-written novel, this book is filled with romance, suspense, hatred and pain. This is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read, and I would rate it a ten out of ten. I would recommend it to anyone over the age of 12 that is looking for an addictive action-filled book.

I recommend the movie and the book the Hunger Games for many reasons. It has such an amazing story line which gives you pleasure and you never get bored. You are always hooked and nervous for what will happen next. I loved all of the characters because they all have different things to offer. In some scenes of the movie, you have chills down your spine because you are so nervous that something bad will happen. My favourite character what of course the main character Katniss. She is so brave and she has a huge personality. She is unique and doesn’t care what others think of her. She is strong minded person and she never gives up which is what the Games is all about. She cares deeply for her sister and her mother and this love is one of the parts that gets her through the games. There are so many factors that make the movie and the book amazing. The hooks, love, fantasy, imagination and so many more. I enjoyed reading the book first because then you have a better imagination and understanding before watching the movie. Once watching the movie you feel more knowledgeable and the words from the book just create amazing images for you. I loved the book and I would rate it an 8/10 and the movie was amazing, 9/10. I hope most of you could consider this as an option for the future because I know many others have the same feelings I do!

The book is set in a poverty stricken district where Katniss Everdeen is needed for her family’s survival. The amount of emotion and intensity in this book is insane! It’s just incredible. The characters in the book are fantastic, with a wide range of personalities and a hunger to win, I promise you won’t be able to put this book down. This book is one of the best books that I have ever read. The author Suzanne Collins showcased the characters different to other books and captured the essence of their characteristics perfectly. I don’t normally love to read but I just couldn’t actually manage to put the book down. My favourite character is President Snow, because in a way he is kind of convincing and evil in a very dark and cruel way that mesmerises me. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 12, as the book is a bit challenging to read sometimes. I would rate this book a big 9/10.

I recommend the book The Hunger Games, now we can all say that we love the movie but I don’t. The book is much more descriptive and it includes every single little detail of each event happened and scene. The movie gives you the visual of the book, however, did you ever think that the book is different to the movie. Oh yes you must read the book to compare the two and the book is the original, the movie is a remake of the book. Both very different sources. So I suggest reading the book to know what really happened. The book itself is a thriller, I mean, how can you not love it. I certainly do love the book. Katniss (the main character of the book) takes you on a journey of survival, it likes being there in the moment with her surviving in the bush and may have to murder your own peers to be the one left to see the day of light again. Would you kill anyone? Now it may sound a little dry just trying to survive in the bush with 24 other tributes being the last one to live, but did I mention love can save you big time. Yes, their is a little love in the air out in the arena and this love is crucial to survival because it just might save your life. Don’t believe me. Read the book. I rate this book 8/10.

Oh my golly gosh….this book is amazing. The romance, choices.. the death. I just can not ever ever put this book down. I felt like i was apart of the book… i wish a was apart of this book. A girl named katniss is fighting for her life in district 12. There is no food.. no love… nothing at all. But for katniss there is always light through her sister Prims eyes. She lost her father and her mother is not herself she has to do everything for herself and her family.
The reaping has come…24 fight to the death and only one lives. Her sister has been pulled out. Katniss knows that her sister will bot survive so she takes her place……Will she live or die.

I think a lot of people would like it and I definitely recommend it because it is so good. Sometimes it could get boring but then it would pic up and be really really good. I loved reading this book! it constantly pulls you in and you will never want to put it down. It’s about how every year the capital gets one girl and boy from each district to go into the Hunger Games and will not finish until there is one person left. It feels very realistic as you are reading it, like you are there with them. This a really good book and I recommend it to everyone!!

I recommend the novel, The Hunger Games. I found that this book was just as good as the movie but maybe even the tiniest bit better. This is because unlike the movie in the book it is more descriptive. The thing that i love about this book is how creative and how the book makes you love different characters. I rate this book 10 out of 10!

I bought the Hunger Games trilogy years ago, and reading through them now I notice flaws but I still love it all the same. I’m iffy on the movies, but I love the books. Since this is a young adults novel, I’d recommend it for 12+ Looking forward to re-reading the others.

I have read and watched the hunger games and I have loved it. The storyline is fantastic and has really been one of the best scifi/fantasy movies I have ever watched. How the characters interat is not only hilarious but also emotional. The characters have made you feel attached to the show and always wanting more I have absulutely loved this book/movie and would rate it 9/10

The Hungers Games is a great serious of novels, I recommend to everyone and anyone! Once i picked up the book it was a little dull, but then it got action packed with drama, and danger! It was written well. It showed great values, and gave a great message over the books. There were parts that were terrifying which made me feel anxious with what was going to happen, it had me on the edge of my seat whilst reading these fanatic books, but on the other hand there was some excited jam filled parts. Overall the book was amazing, if you like adventure you will love this drama filled, adventurous exciting book! I give it 10/10 !!

The Hunger Games was an amazing book!!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Katniss is an amazingly strong girl and is ready to stand up for what she believes in. I think she is a great role model. The world that Katniss lives in is completely dark and terrifying, and their idea for fun is watching kids fight to survive! Katniss Everdeen a driven, strong willed young woman volunteers to enter a life or death game in place of her sister. She is thrown into an arena where she must fight or run to survive, along with 23 other ‘tributes’. She needs to figure out who she can and cannot trust, because in this game it’s the last one standing, and there are no second chances. Follow her on her journey towards rebellion, and experience every emotional blow. Love, sorrow, terror, pain, joy. Be prepared for a journey that has captured millions of people world wide in this original futuristic novel.
Some scenes involve a lot of violence both using tools, weapons or bare hands, and some themes may be too intense for younger readers. I would recommend this to any girl or boy over the age of 11-12.
An original premise, use of relatable and loveable characters, mind blowing and action and adventure. I give this book a solid 10\10.

The Hunger Games is a fantastic book about a girl called Katiss Everdeen, a girl from district 12, who competes in The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is when 2 children are sent from each district to an area where they are forced to kill each other until there is one person left. Katniss’s sister is drawn, and Katniss volunteers to take her place. The boy tribute from district 12 is Peeta Mellark, who Katniss has a history with, but they had never spoken before the reaping. My favourite character is Peeta, because he is very kind, and cares so much about Katniss. He is loyal and trustworthy to everyone he meets. My favourite scene in the book is the tribute parade, when Katniss gets the name ‘Girl on Fire’. My other favourite scene that is followed by the parade is Katniss and Peeta’s interviews with Caesar Flickerman. If I could change something in the book, it would be Rue’s death. I was s sad when she died, because she was such an amazing character. I would definitely recommend this book to other people. I am giving it a 10/10, because it has a lot of originality to it, and is quite an interesting read. Every time you flip a page, there is always something exciting going on.

The Hunger Games was a book that I could not put down. I had been waiting for a while to read this book, and only took me 3 hours to read altogether. The book was full of action and it had a very different story line compared to many other books that I have read. I wasn’t about some magical word like harry potter or something romantic like twilight, this book is about gruesome fights and deaths, with a bit of love and definitely survival. The most emotional part for me was when Katniss volunteered her life in place of her sister’s. The story became more intense as it got into the main part, the moment it reach that point the story was definitely about life and death as well as knowing how to survive. There were certain points where it got me questioning things like ‘ is she going to survive?’ and there were points that got me on the edge of my seat. My favourite character was Katniss Everdeen because she was brave, strong both mentally and physically. She was a character who was very determined but she wasn’t a killing machine like some other characters. I would recommend this to people 12+ and I rate this book 9/10.

Yep this is it, this is my favorite book! I have read and reread and reread this book and it still manages to amaze me. I’m siting there on the edge of my seat not being able to put the book down always eager for every bit of information. I love everything about this book, it’s story line, it’s characters, it’s setting, everything! It is all about a girl named Katniss or some times Katnip=) hehe. Anyway she is a strong, courageous girl who lives in the poorest district with a poor family where they have to entertain the high ranked people. Katniss stands up for her sister and ends up entering a game where you play to the death. This book is so engaging and is the best thing I have ever read. I woulld recommend this to anyone and everyone, I loved it and you will too! I rate this 200/10!

Absolutely my favourite book in the whole world. The Hunger Games is an amazing book set in the future. It is about a sixteen year old girl named Katniss who lives in a country called Panem. Every year the districts have to compete in the hunger games which one girl and one boy will be chosen from each district from the ages 12-18. They will have to fight to death in order to stay alive and win the games. Katniss lives in a small district where they have hardly any food and most people are to weak to fight so their district hardly ever wins but when Katniss gets chosen to go into the hunger games she has a chance as she can hunt and fight and is not as weak as the others. This book has so much detail and there was never a point where I was bored. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure books.

I have read this book so many times and I absolutely love it. Personally I don’t think the movie is as good as the book, but I still enjoyed it anyway. Katniss’s story is a very sad one with the loss of her father who she seemed to have a very close relationship with.
I felt very moved when Katniss’s volunteered for her sister, it must have been such a hard thing to see her against all odds be chosen to go into the games.
Katniss’s showed great courage and really how much she loves and cares for her sister when she volunteered a tribute.
Susanne Collins has done a fabulous job at giving us her idea of the future for the human race. Far altered from reality at the moment. Her predictions are hopefully far from true.
Two children from each district go into the games. Battling for no prize but their lives.
I would highly recommend the hunger games for anyone looking for a great read!

This is such an amazingly written book that explains the ups and downs of poverty and what some people will do you to have a little food on their plate. This book really inspired and they way it was written was immaculate and stunning it tells the story of Katniss Everdeen that will do anything for family even compete in the hunger games in place of her little sister Prim.
I recommend this book to everyone that wants some action and Inspiration in their life. 10/10 !!!!!

The Hunger Games series is different to any other futuristic books I’ve read, many of them don’t include kids killing kids to remind people of what war is like, almost sounds like a joke. Nonetheless the book is really interesting to read. I thoroughly enjoyed it, we crawl into the skin of Katniss and pretend we are as smart, kind and strong as her. I can relate to Primrose most though, being a younger sister and being so weak I could never kill. However, Katniss is my favourite. Even the love line running through the series is interesting to follow, personally I like Gale, but many would choose Peeta. I think if you haven’t read the books you should read it yourself and form your own opinion. The movie didn’t disappoint either, followed the book nicely, but the book gave that little extra in being in Katniss’ mind.

The Hunger Games is an amazing book, both empowering, inspirational & action-based. It is about a young 16 year-old girl called Katniss Everdeen who is entered in the 74th annual hunger games, and the rest remains a mystery. I loved reading both this book and the rest of the books in the trilogy. My favourite character is Rue because she is beautiful, clever and innocent. I think Katniss is an amazing character, teaching girls that you can achieve amazing things if you only try and have hope. I would recommend this book and the rest of the trilogy to anyone who loves a good action book and is most preferably over the age of 10. I would rate this movie an 8.5/10

I love this! I have seen the movie but I recommend reading the book first as it gives you an insight into how the games work and what horrible events happen in the arena. The hunger games series is one of the most creative, gruesome,and fascinating books I have ever read!
The first book, Hunger games, is a book of adventure, love, loyalty and friendship. This series is a must read, with a story line that is different to any other book.
My favourite character is definitely Katniss. She is a brave and strong minded person. This is shown when she volunteers to courageously and selflessly take her sisters place in the Hunger games, she could of just kept quiet and give her sister no option but to compete in the Hunger games, where she would fight to death.
My favourite part in the book is when Katniss joins forces with Rue in the hunger games. I find the relationship so important, Rue had no hope in winning the Hunger games, but Katniss felt the urge to protect her. When Rue dies, tears are brought to my eyes when Katniss lays the flowers around her and sings the song that Rue used to sing to the Mockingjays.
I would definitely recommend this book to Girls and boys aged 12+, it is such an amazing book, that is full of love and adventure!

The Hunger Games is a great action packed book and movie trilogy that leaves readers eager to continue on. Katniss Everdeen is a strong, determined character who inspires readers through her selflessness and willingness to sacrifice so much for what she believes in most important. It just goes to show how no matter what situation or lifestyle you come from, anyone can be great. You just have to be brave enough to voice your opinion and stand up for what you believe in, no matter who tries to knock you down.

I love the book Hunger Games. You have probably heard of it before and thats probably because its so good. This book was action packed for sure. This book really shows how much Katniss would sacrifice for her family which is a great message which the author has put across. I would give this book a 8/10. Personally I thought the book was a bit bigger than what I usually read but it waste hard to read because it was so interesting.

The hunger games was such a interesting trilogy. I loved the whole books and how it contained all happy endings in each. I really recommend the book and the movies. I can’t wait for mocking j part 2 to come out because I know it will be a full on movie. It was an excellent book and it makes me feel all different emotions. You just want to keep on reading the book because you want to know what happens. This book made me nervous at times because I was frightened of what was going to happen next. Overall you really should go read this book it has been out for quite a while and when I read it when it first came out it was amazing. I rate this book a 10/10 and go read it!!!

Well this book lived up to a lot of the hype that surrounds it.This book is written in first perspective, from the heroine’s aspect. Her name is Katniss Everdeen. She starts off in her home, a simple, poor area of the land. She is the provider for her mother and sister with her hunting skills. To protect her younger sister, she is sent to the capitol, along with local boy Peeta, to ‘participate’ in the annual Hunger Games.These ‘games’ are fights to the death, aired and shown to the capitol and all 12 districts under its control, in a survival arena of sorts. The book shows, throughout the story, a somewhat futuristic dystopia society. In the end she a Peter end up winning and bring pride to their district but not without the awful horrific things they experienced and took apart in.I recommend this book to the type of person who loves adventure and pretty much every genre, I rate The Hunger Games a 10 out of 10.

This is such a captivating and exciting book, despite the context and ideas being slightly terrifying it was a great book. I love how Katniss is so brave and has a strong personality. I think the hunger games is an excellent book and i would defiantly read it again! it gets me into the zone and it is full of all sorts of different events. sad ones and happy ones. My favorite character is Katniss because she is very brave and sometimes is a bit odd like when she thought she was dying but she found water. the worst part is when Rue died i thought something good would happen because Rue is a great person. But i would strongly agree that kids 11 and up SHOULD read it because it is detailed, deep and has the best description ever. I couldn’t think of a book that could be any better.👌It has a very good amount of each genre of story because it is action, comedy, romance and more. Peeta was a very loving man.💖I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!

i really enjoyed the book hunger games as it was very hard to put down and stop reading! What i loved about this book is how descriptive it was and how the story line was very unpredictable and it always kept me on the edge of my chair. I absolutely love all of the characters in this book and i love how they are all so different to any of the other characters i have ever read about. My favourite character was the main person in the film; Katniss Everdeen she is my favourite because all through the book she shows great courage, strength and she was brave enough to stand up to the capital and anyone who she thought was in the wrong. I wont give to much away about this fantastic book but what i will tell you is if you love books that keep you wanting more, are unpredictable and inspirational, Hunger Games is definitely a book for you!

I love the hungers games, the book and movie. It has such a good story line, living in a different world where they living in the districts of a capital and every year, two people either volunteer or get picked out of a bowl to go into the hunger games where they fight to the death until only one remains, a bit gruesome but it isn’t just about fighting, its also about survival and tricks, to stay alive.

My favourite character is the main character, Katniss Everdeen who volunteers for her sister and goes in and even though she is stubborn and likes being by herself at times she is so funny and caring.

The Hunger Games is the best trilogy i have ever read! I used to think that Harry Potter was amazing and then my brother showed me the books and said they were amazing so i just had to read them. The reason why i liked this book was because of the way the author described the characters and their emotions. I like the character, Katniss because she was courageous, selfless and stubborn. The other main character that i liked was Peeta. He was compassionate, calm, and convincing. The book is about a girl called Katniss Everdeen who grew up in District 12, one of the poorest districts out of the 12 which are controlled by the wealthy Capitol. And each year 2 children, 12 years or over from each district get chosen to fight to the death in an arena with harsh conditions all for the entertainment of the Capitol. And when Katniss replaces her sister Prim who was chosen, she has to use her hunting skills to stay alive. As soon as i started reading the Hunger Games i could not stop reading it. There was always moments where you were on the edge of your seat! I was so attached to the book that i finished it in a day and a bit! As soon as i finished the book i needed to read the second one, Catching Fire. I’m currently reading the third one which is Mocking jay. I definitely recommend The Hunger games trilogy to people who are into action and adventure. The Hunger Games is a very gripping book!

The hunger games series is an amazing series for everyone to read! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and could not wait for the movie. I really love Katniss as a character as she is very kind, serious, rude at times, and the list goes on. She meets a boy called Peter and doesn’t admit she likes him but I think everyone who has read the book would know that she does. I would definitely recommend it for anyone over the age of 10 because of the violence but I would rate it a 10/10!!

It is about Katniss, a girl living in a dystopian future where the world is split up into 12 districts, and each year 2 citizens of each district are picked to compete in a deadly competition, know as the Hunger Games, where the aim is to kill all the other competitors, and unfortunately she and Peeta are picked to compete. My favourite character is Rue because she is so adorable and it was so sad when she was killed. It is full of suspense, action, romance and is one of the best reads EVER ❤ I would rate it a 10/10 and recommend it to anyone over 10! 🙂

It is a great book! Its about a big games that brord casted on tv, where 24 competitors are selected from 12 different districts, and are placed in an arena to fight to the death. This book is amazing and very hard to put down, as it always keeps you in suspense and is never boring. There is lots of action and survival techniques involved as the book is basically about staying alive. I love peter and katniss together. I would rate this book 10/10 because it was so amazing!!

This is probably my favourite book ever. I have seen the movie but I recommend reading the book first as it gives you an insight into how the games work and what horrible events happen in the arena. As I started to read this book I felt really close to Katniss and the hard ship that she went through. I felt sorry for Peeta because he really loves Katniss and she hasn’t got time to think and express what her real feelings are towards him due to the fact that she thinks she is going to die in the arena.I recommend this to high school students and above because it is a bit gruesome at times. I rate this book a 9 1/2 out of ten.

I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in an action packed novel with a touch of romance. When I first picked up this novel I was unable to put it down and even after I finished it I read it at least 5 more times! There are all different moments in this novel that want to make you want to keep reading and never want it to finish, but sadly it came to an end and I just wanted more. I started reading The Hunger Games in the holidays and fell in complete love. I really enjoyed this book because it had action and romance all mixed in one. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss volunteered for Prim, i just thought it was so sweet and Prim was lucky to have such a caring and kind older sister. My favourite character in the hunger games would have to be Gale (Liam Hemsworth) because he was so strong and tough but at the same time kind and caring. I cannot really relate to The hunger Games because i live in a country were it is fair and peaceful. If i could change something in the book, i wouldn’t change a thing because it is great the way it is. I would recommend this book to older years because it is sometimes is hard to understand. I think everyone would love this book, especially boys and girls.

I recently read this book and instantly fell in love with it! I read the whole series within a week! This gripping novel captures you from the start, and once you start, there is no going back. The story is about a girl named Katniss, who is forced to fight to the death in the Hunger Games until only one remains. There are 12 districts, and every year one boy and one girl are chosen from each district to go into the arena to fight. My favourite part of this book was (if you haven’t read this book yet, then don’t read this next part!) when Katniss told Peeta to eat the berries to save them both. I think that was a really significant event in the book, as it is the key to the series. I think the type of person that would like this book would be someone who loves a book that keeps you on the edge of your chair dying to know what will happen next. I think also if you like a bit of romance or adventure, this is definitely the book for you. Overall, I rate The Hunger Games a 4/5!

I really loved The Hunger Games because it’s such a exhilarating, adventurous book. My favourite part of this book was when Katniss and Peeta had this moment together in a cave, in the Arena. It’s my favourite moment in the book because in this moment Katniss finds out that Peeta has been loving her since they were little. And I loved the idea of that because of someone loving a person for so long and they have never given up on their love. My favourite character in this book was defiantly Katniss because she just shows so much courage, to stand up for Prim and have the risk to die and never come back. Also because she is a great role model for younger girls. I can relate to Prim. Because if I was pick of something literally like an initiation to death and one of my relatives stood up for me I would react like Prim I would go into The Hunger Games if I could. I don’t have a least favourite bit of the book because it was all amazing I would change nothing. It’s so well written and great detail. I would defiantly recommend this book to other people because it’s a great piece of writing. Especially people who love adventure and thrills this would be great for them.

I think that this book is great i even think its better than the movie.
I think that it is packed with twists and action. I love the way it has so much more detail than the movie and i love the way she desprcibes each character. I absolutely loved this book!! This has a romance/action/future filled pack book and it makes you feel many emotions. It is also very interesting there are always twists and turns that make you keep reading because many people change and there fore the plot changes.This is such a captivating and exciting book,even though the actual concept was terrifying it was a really good book. When it first came out i thought the idea of killing others for entertainment was horrible and inhumane but i came to love the characters especially katniss and peeta. I have only read the first book and I really want to read the other book but have not got around to reading them or seeing the movie.
I like the different twist to the future not like all the sic fi movie about the future.

The hunger games was one of those books I clutched tightly so I could read it whenever I had a few minutes, I’m not sure how maybe it was how the drama and the action blended into an emotional and breathtaking adventure but I felt inspired to make a difference in the world. Katniss is such a strong person, she volunteers to go in the slaughterous games for her sisters sake. She overcomes challenges and battles her mental struggles. I would rate this book 5 stars and if you haven’t already read this breath taking page flicker than you haven’t lived!

Hunger Games. Where do I begin? I watched the movie Hunger Games before reading the book ignoring all the protests I got from my brother to read it first but I really just wanted to see the movie. After seeing Hunger Games I had already fallen in love with many characters and I also had so many questions about the movie. That night I got Hunger Games off the shelf and began reading and automatically it was answering all the questions about the movie. This book is literally amazing and it’s impossible to describe how good it is! I recommend this book for everyone 13+ because it’s a bit gruesome throughout the book. I also have told my friends who aren’t really readers to give it a go because it’s an amazing story. I rate the book 9.5/10

Based on the future the Hunger Games lets you imagine what might come about in the future! (hopefully not though!!) Suzanne Collins describes a gory love between not only Katnisses sister but also her ‘Boyfriend’ Peeta. At the reaping when Katnisses’ sister is picked she heroically volunteers as tribute. After this Peeta is called out and they are sent to the capital. On the train to the capital they meet there mentor Haymitch. Haymitch is a previous victor and is forced to help Katniss and Peeta and give them advice to help them get through and be successful as he was. The book is explained very week with lost of detail and anyone who reads it will be pulled into another world. The book is suited fro 13+ as there is lots of violence. Hands down to Suzanne Collins. 9/10

I REALLY enjoyed this series by Suzanne Collins. It is based on a young girl named Katniss Everdeen. When Katniss’ sister is chosen in the reaping, Katniss volunteers as tribute for District 12. The other tribute, Peeta Mallark is crazy in love with Katniss, and as they come into the interview with Caesar Flickerman, ‘official commentator’ of the Hunger Games, Katniss’ stylist, Cinna has worked magic on Katniss’ dress, as it glows with fire as they ride the chariot down the path. Cinna continues with this styling point throughout the series. I would definitely recommend this series for those who have read the Divergent Series because the two series are quite alike. For sure i would rate this series a 110/10!

The Hunger Games is one of my favourite books of all time. The characters are so unique, the story is intense and the author really explains things well that you feel almost like you are actually in the different settings of the book. I think it is worth reading the book before watching the movie as things that seemed insignificant in the movie actually get explain in the book and have lots of meaning, like the importance of the mockingjay pin. My favourite character is deffinitely Cinna. He has such a calming personality and reassures Katniss that everything will be okay. He also creates amazing dresses for Katniss to wear, which are explained really well in the book. I recommend this book, along with Catching Fire and Mockingjay, the other 2 books in the trilogy, to anyone that likes to read fantasy, adventure or even romance books as this book has it all in one. I give it a 10/10!

This movie (and book!) are both fantastic! It is an amazing film and I would recommend it to all the girls in our school. It is funny and interesting, but it is also very serious and has lots of action and suspense. The characters are amazing and my favourites would have to be Katniss and Rue. They are both interesting and have hard lives. One of saddest moments in the film is when Rue dies! The books are incredible and I would rate them all 9/10.

I love this book it is a brilliant book to just snuggle up in a cosy blanket and just read, its amazing and every page just gets better and better! The author has done an outstanding job writing this book, you get a very clear understanding of whats happening.
Where do I begin! I have to many but if i could just name one it would have to be when the end part when the mutants are each of the passed tributes, that was freaky!
My favourite character would be Katniss, because she is not to mean nor to nice that it just gets annoying. But I love Peeta to!
If I could I would relate Katniss to myself, I’m very different to Katniss but in personality wise we are quite similar.
My least favourite part of the movie would be when Rue dies, that was a horrible scene, you get so close to her and she is only 12, that was sad.
Personally I wouldn’t change anything, its just so good!
I would recommend this book to slightly more mature children, after all It has murder in it.

I read the Hunger Games a bit before it became a huge success. Though after re-reading the series I noticed different things that added to the overall feel of the story. It’s one of those series that gets better every time you read it, as you keep finding new details that help shape the story even more. The stories are always jam packed with action and suspense, which leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the time you read it. I would rate these books a 8/10.

I recommend the book The HUnger Games. Although some of you have sene the movie the book is worth reading. The book is more detailed and exciting than the movie and would strongly recommend it to anyone. Like most people my favourite characters are Peeta and Katniss, they are both strong minded and are very brave in both the film and the book. I loved this book, I couldn’t stop reading it. It was amazing on so many levels and is a book that needs to be read. Anyone that loves books with exhilarating and thrilling moments, this is the book for you.

This book is amazing, I just finished all three books and the first 2 were outstanding. It’s a great action, drama and romance filled book. Even if you don’t like reading like me, I still absolutely loved it and if you really can’t stand the book try the movie, it’s so intense and you can really feel what the characters are feeling. For instance, when Rue died you could feel the pain and sadness that Katniss was witnessing. My favourite part is when Katniss and Peeta win because you feel so relieved and excited about it. I would definitely recommend this book to any Sacred Heart girls.

The Hunger Games is an amazing book and is a book that anyone who likes adventure and sadness this is a book for you! The characters are amazing and the way the author has displayed so much emotion in one book is amazing! I loved it because it has so many emotions in one book and every single sentence you read from the start of the book leaves you hooked! i definitely recommend reading the hunger games!

The Hunger Games is amazing! With twists and turns on every page this book is hard to resist and very hard to put down. I have just read the whole trilogy again and even though I knew what was going to happen, I still went on Katniss’ exciting adventure.
The storyline is well constructed and the characters are described in depth. My favourite character would have to be Katniss because of her brave and knowledgeable personality. Her decisions in the games were based on her knowledge of survival skills, edible plants and animals. She used those skills wisely in the games when she protected Rue and later on Peeta, which caused a little bit of a love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale.
This book was filled with a lot of emotion, the saddest part was when Katniss sang to Rue as she was dying. Rue was such a brave little girl and it brought me to tears she passed away.
Even though the concept of the games is horrible and fairly depressing, The Hunger Games is a well written book, which uses Katniss’ point of view to really help form a picture inside the reader’s head.
I would rate this book a definite 10/10 because of the interesting storyline and would recommend it to anyone who likes action, suspense, emotion or romance. Anyone who hasn’t read The Hunger Games trilogy should pick up the books and read them right away!

The hunger games was a great book. I loved listening to it, (I had the audio book from my local library). I listened to it on my bus, and I am now on the second book in the series. I loved the book, and the capital accents. My favourite character is Peeta because he is kind and helps and doesn’t expect anything in return. Hunger games is one of my favourite books.

The Hunger Games is truly an amazing book. It’s so gripping and it takes you to another world. I love this book because it is so interesting and different to what we experience in our everyday lives, yet it could be somewhat similar to what they future may be like. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss drops the nest of tracker jackers on the careers. It was a very tense part of the book and I really felt for Katniss. My favourite character in the book was Rue. She had such a beautiful personality and was so kind and brave the whole way through. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. It’s such an amazing story and is really suited for all likes. Theres romance, action, a little bit of suspense and a bit of tear jerking. I think everyone who hasn’t read this book, (and series), defiantly should pick a copy and read away!

I love the hunger games, just the detail and the base of the story is awesome. It seriously got me crying for days about Rue’s death and everything else. Highly recommended for you! 10/10 by far!! The movie is also really good, s after the book you will understand it so much better. Watch both the movie and read all three books because its so worth it.

Like every other book-reading teen on the planet, I love the Hunger Games series. When the first movie rolled around, however, I left the midnight premiere majorly disappointed. I was unhappy with the casting, effects and disloyalty to the core of what our beloved story of The Girl Who Was on Fire is truly about. Everything was how I imagined it reading the novel two years ago. The characters, the districts and the arena all immensely improved from the franchise’s opening. It was much more focused on the twisted ways of the Capitol and the brewing rebellion than the love triangle the first film seemed to revolve around. I would reccomend this book to everyone!

The Hunger Games is the best book ever it is my favourite book. I have read the books so many times and each time I start reading the Hunger Games I don’t won’t to put the book down I just won’t to keep reading. My favourite character in the Hunger Games is Katniss she is so brave, caring and determined. My favourite part of Katniss’s character is when the judges weren’t listing to her and she shoot’s an arrow into the apple in the pigs mouth of the judges lunch. There is also a movie of Hunger Games is which a great movie but personally I like the book better. I found the book tells the story better and is more detailed in some parts then it was in the movie. I rate this book 10 out of 10 it is a fantastic read. I would recommend this book for people 12 years and up because it can be quite gruesome in some parts of the story.

I read The Hunger Games around 8 months ago and as soon as I started reading the book I couldn’t put it down because I really liked Suzanne Collins’ style of writing. I think the plot line was very interesting and the book always had action on each page. My favourite part of the book was probably when they nearly ate the berries because those couple of pages were so action packed and intriguing that I couldn’t have stopped reading even if I had tried. My least favourite part of the book though was when Rue died. It was really sad because she was so young when she went into the arena and for me the thought of having to go through that when you are only 12 years old is so scary. Katniss was definitely my favourite character in the book because she was so brave and she always fought for what she believed in. Even though it is a great book/movie it can be quite gruesome sometimes and the whole concept of it is pretty depressing. But if I had to rate the book out of 10 I would give it a 9.5/10.

I saw the Hunger Games movie before I read the book. Shame on me. But I’m so glad I ended up reading the book! It’s amazing! It’s the kind of book that almost everybody would like. It’s about a 16 year old girl called Katniss who lives in a very poor area in a new country. Every year there is something called the Hunger Games – where a boy and a girl from each area (24 people in all) are made to fight to death in a man-made arena. Katniss volunteers to fight in place of her sister Prim, and that’s where it all begins. Her and a boy Peeta have to try and survive both in and out of the arena, and they have to do it together, however hard it may be. Katniss is a really amazing character, as she’s so strong and smart and real. Suzanne Collins is a great author to have created Katniss. And also, you fall in love with Peeta too. I cried my eyes out over Rue and I really felt like she was a real person. I would recommend the Hunger Games to anyone over 11 or 12 because it’s actually pretty dark, sometimes gruesome and has a lot of deeper meanings to it. I rate it 10/10, it’s definitely my favourite book now.

The Hunger Games is the best trilogy i have ever read! I used to think that Harry Potter was amazing and then my brother showed me the books and said they were amazing so i just had to read them. The reason why i liked this book was because of the way the author described the characters and their emotions. I like the character, Katniss because she was courageous, selfless and stubborn. The other main character that i liked was Peeta. He was compassionate, calm, and convincing. The book is about a girl called Katniss Everdeen who grew up in District 12, one of the poorest districts out of the 12 which are controlled by the wealthy Capitol. And each year 2 children, 12 years or over from each district get chosen to fight to the death in an arena with harsh conditions all for the entertainment of the Capitol. And when Katniss replaces her sister Prim who was chosen, she has to use her hunting skills to stay alive. As soon as i started reading the Hunger Games i could not stop reading it. There was always moments where you were on the edge of your seat! I was so attached to the book that i finished it in a day and a bit! As soon as i finished the book i needed to read the second one, Catching Fire. I’m currently reading the third one which is Mocking jay. I definitely recommend The Hunger games trilogy to people who are into action and adventure. The Hunger Games is a very gripping book!

I love reading this book!!!! it constantly pulls you in and you will never want to put it down. It includes many genres like action, romance and is set in the future but looks as though it could also be from the past. It’s about how every year the capital organises for one girl and boy from each district to go into the Hunger Games and will not finish until there is one person left. It feels very realistic as you are reading it, like you are there with them. I would rate this book a 9/10!! and would recommend to anyone over 11.

The Hunger Games is a AMAZING book to read as a series or on it’s own. Its intense, emotional, warm hearted and always makes you never want to put the book down!!! Katniss is an inspiration the way she volunteers for Prim it is so heart touching and brave. This book is perfect for anyone who likes an adventure, is gutsy, loves action and can stand a little blood. I would recommend this book to anyone 10+ because it’s a bit gruesome and probably wouldn’t be the best for younger readers. I would give this book a 9/10 because it has to be one of my favourite books and it’s exactly one of my types of books. From the start to end your craving more and I could read this book 100 times and not be sick of it. This book makes you laugh, cry, smile, and wish there could be a forth book in the series. All the characters make you want to wish they were your best friends and you fell like you know them like they are. So all up this book is OUT STANDING and if you haven’t read it you haven’t lived and everybody should read this book at least once!

The hunger games is a amazing book full of action and adventure written by the amazing american author Suzanne Collins. I loved this book because it was full action and adventure and kit kept me in suspense. I have also seen the movie which i recommend you to watch after you have red the book because it will help you understand the games and emotions they were feeling in the movie ! ( i prefer the book though because it is more detailed and easier to understand ) My favourite part in this book was when katniss was stuck up in the tree because the career alliance chased her down and tried to kill her so she climbed up the tree to safety. She was stuck up there until night fell when she saw rue in the other tree giving her a signal to climb up the tree to this weird bee hive thing , she climbed up slowly not wanting the careers to see her. Once she got to the hive she realised it was a tracker jacker hive and started cutting the branch it was on , while doing this she was stung multiple times . she finally finished cutting and it dropped down onto the careers and exploded all over them. they were all stung multiple times, but only one died. i loved this part because it was so full of adventure and suspense.my favourite character in this book is katniss everdeen because she has a big attitude and is real brave. I really connected with katniss from the start of the book and i just love her story.I can relate to katniss the most because she isn’t a very confident girl but she has a very big attitude , she is very aware of things and isn’t stupid. I wouldn’t change this story one bit cause i absolutely love it . I do not have a least favourite part of this book because it was amazing and so interesting. I recommend this book for people who like action aplenty and graphic novels, i rate this book a definite 10 out of 10 !!!!

This is probably my favourite book ever. I have seen the movie but I recommend reading the book first as it gives you an insight into how the games work and what horrible events happen in the arena. As I started to read this book I felt really close to Katniss and the hard ship that she went through. I felt sorry for Peeta because he really loves Katniss and she hasn’t got time to think and express what her real feelings are towards him due to the fact that she thinks she is going to die in the arena.I recommend this to high school students and above because it is a bit gruesome at times. I rate this book a 9 1/2 out of ten.

This book/ movie is incredible!! it is a great movie to watch and a great book to read, it has action, love and drama that gets to you, once you have seen the first movie you are just willing to watch/ read the second one. My favourite part of the first movie is when Katnis and Peeta find each other, they fight and fight until the very end end up holding poisonous berries in there hands up against their mouth and i couldn’t stop reading it, i had to find out what happens. It is so exciting!! my favourite character is Katnis because she is strong and determined, when she wants something she fights for it and never gives up, it is a truly amazing book/ movie and i rate it a 9.5/10!

Suzanne Collins science fiction novel takes place in a post apocalyptic nation of Panem.
“The Hunger Games” is an event where one boy and one girl from each district, aged 12 to 18, are selected by an annual lottery to fight to the death in an arena. All the districts stop their work in order to watch the 24 children fight television. Sounds gruesome right? But it makes for a great read.
If you have a running imagination, you can see, smell and hear everything that happens in this book. This book is very suspenseful and very detailed. Every time I read a sentence, it was like a movie playing in my mind. This book does not only deal with death, but also the complications of love, friendship and survival. My favourite character is the main girl Katniss. She is a strong figure, who begins with closed emotions, but opens up after having to deal with some horrific experiences.
I would recommend this book to everyone. However it contains some strong images which can be hard to take. It is a very creative and attention grabbing story.

The Hunger Games is written by Suzanne Collins and is set in a futuristic dystopian world. Each district presents a male and a female aged from 12-18 to compete in the annual Hunger Games, where each contestant fights other contestants to the death for their life, with the last one standing, the winner. Formally known as Appalachia, District 12 is the coal region, where Katniss Everdeen, her mother and little sister Prim reside.
I became absolutely obsessed with this book within the first couple of chapters and finished it in three days. Katniss is such a strong-minded, stubborn character and this makes the book so interesting because at times I can relate to it. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of action, romance and drama I would have to rate it a 10/10!

this book was absolutely incredible! when I first started I didn’t think that I would enjoy that much but once I started reading, I became obsessed! it was so action packed and adventurous! I loved Katniss and how brave she was to go instead of her little sister. She’s such a strong and interesting character. I love how independent Katniss was. I loved the part when there was only Katniss and Peeta left (the two from district 12) and they announced that there could only be one winner. Then they both hold poisonous berries up to their mouths and put them in their mouths. I didn’t know what was going to happen here and I couldn’t stop reading!! I would absolutely reccoment this to anyone! I rate it 9.5/10!

This book was one of the best books that i had ever read, when i was in year 6. I think that the first book out of the three was the best, it completely enthralled me. The author Suzanne Collins completely captured the characters uniquely and captured the essence of their characteristics perfectly. The books were amazingly enjoyable, and i could never actually manage to put them down. My favourite character out of the 3 books would have to be prim, (primrose) because throughout the series she is so innocent, and nice. She is also very pretty, and her immaturity towards Katniss’ leaving just makes it all so much more dramatic. But i also like President Snow, because in a way he is kind of convincing and evil in a very dark and cruel way that mesmerises me. I would recommend this book to anyone 12 and up, just because some things can be a little hard to read, and the books can be a bit long, especially when you add up all three. My favourite part of the book, would have to be when she places all of the flowers around Rue, in the actual hunger games, and then leaves her peacefully. I would rate this book an 8/10, but it is a must read.

The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins, is a gripping novel that really takes you into a new world. The whole time I was on the edge of my seat at each turn of the page. I love the way this book is written, with each chapter ending in a page turner. This book was so hard to put down, I practically didn’t, I read it in one day and found myself yearning for more. Thank god I had the two next books! The characters in this book are all really punchy, they each bring something different to the story and make it what it is, this book is action-packed and adventurous, and I recommend it to anyone who is ready to take on its power. ‘The Hunger Games’ is an ‘Edge-of-your-seat’ book which you can’t wait ’till you read whats next. It makes you smile when you read the end, because then, you can add to the shopping list ‘Catching Fire’, which is the next book in The Hunger Games series. I strongly suggest this book to anyone who loves Couragous-based people and who likes a bit of a punch in their books. If you haven’t read nor watched The Hunger Games, get your pen and To-Do list, because its a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and you dont want to miss out. The Hunger Games; Catching Fire the Movie premieres in cinemas November 22nd. Im super pumped to watch it, and like me, you will to. 😉

When I first started reading this book, i didn’t really think that i would be that interested in it, but as i started reading it all of that changed. I became so obsessed with this book that i read it 4 times in a row without hesitation! The main character of the book is 16 year old Katniss Everdeen, who lives with her mother and little sister Prim in Panem, a post apocalyptic North America That has been split into 12 districts. Every year in Panem the government known as ‘The Capitol’ reaps 2 people (1 boy and 1 girl) from each district to fight in a tournament called The Hunger Games, in which they will fight to the death until 1 victor remains. It was just such an engaging and emotional book and i absolutely loved every second of it. I also loved the fact that the main character was a strong, independent girl (unlike Bella from Twilight). Overall i absolutely loved this book and i would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a good read. I rate this book 10/10

I really love The Hunger Games! This book is not my favourite out of the Trilogy (Catching Fire is) but that doesn’t mean it isn’t amazing. I like this book because it gives a very different view of the future then what most people think of. My favourite character is Katniss Everdeen (of course) as she is super brave to volunteer to replace her sister in the dangerous Hunger Games. My favourite part of the book is the tribute parade and the tribute interview night parts, because they are fun to read about and to imagine all the amazing and quirky costumes. I would recommend this book to anyone who saw and loved the film and anyone looking for lots of action. Beware! There is also plenty of gore and death, so if you are not really into that, you should probably steer clear. Rating: 9/10 🙂

I’ve heard about this book for years now, but was never really interested in reading it. At the time, I was reading only urban fantasy or paranormal romance novels and didn’t know what to make of the dystopian genre. After seeing the movie trailer for The Hunger Games, I was intrigued. I went out and bought the entire series. I am so glad that I read this book, it was way better than I anticipated. The characters and the world-building were exceptionally believable. Katniss, and all the other characters in the novel were well developed, and as a reader I felt connected to the characters. Whatever was happening to them in the book, as a reader I also felt their joy, sadness, and pain.
The pacing of the book was great; it had me constantly turning the pages eager to find out what will happen next. I finished the book in 2 days, but it would have been sooner if I didn’t have school. The book is told from Katniss’s point of view; and the majority of the book is full description rather than the usual dialogue that I read. The ending of the book had a lot of surprises that I wasn’t expecting (example: what happened to the dead tributes). Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone whose looking for an action-pack novel. This is my first dystopian book, and surely it will not be my last. I look forward to reading more of Katniss’s adventure in the next two books in trilogy.

the hunger games series is very creative and tells a story unlike no other. its story line is very detailed and it is revealed much better in the books. these books keep you on the edge of your seat and tell the story about friendship and loyalty. the detailed books are definitely recommendable because they are full of action and suspense.

This book is AMA-ZING!! I loved watching the movie but the book was by far the best. It is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss who participates in the hunger games which are basically “killing games”. My favourite part in the book was when Katniss put the flowers around Rue and then did the three fingered salute. It was so powerful and emotional. My favourite character is Prim because she is so kind, and so caring, she is really brave and responsible because she takes care of her mother so well. I rate this book 9/10 and recommend it to boys and girls 12 years and up 🙂

This is the most amazing book! And the movie was just as good! I’ve read the next two, and I can’t wait for them to release Catching Fire! These books are really great, I think the second one is the best though. This one is so thrilling, sad and just mind blowing. One of my favourite characters, is Prim, because she is so sweet and caring and she grows throughout the books, and becomes more like an adult because of the challenges she has faced. I also love Katniss, because she is so determined and extraordinarily brave to replace her sister when it would have been just as well staying back. I also love Peeta and Gale because they are so sweet and kind. My favourite part of the book was when Rue dies (well I didn’t like that) but then Katniss was so sweet to her and di the three fingered salute, it was so moving. Also when she and Peeta defied the Capitol with the berries. I rate this an 11/10 because it’s one of my favourite books and movies!

I absolutely adore this book! The characters in this book are very interesting as they all have their own stories. The book didn’t take me too long to read, and people usually resort to watching the movie, though I believe that the movie does not include some important things in it. It is a book for everyone as it has aspects of drama (between Gale and Katniss aswell as Peeta too) and action (when they are in the arena). I give this book a 10/10! I also enjoyed the 2 other books in the trilogy! Everyone should read this book! 🙂

The Hunger Games- This trilogy is fabulous action packed and full of drama and sadness too. There are three books 1. The Hunger Games 2. Catching fire 3. Mockingjay These books are great and really need to be read. There is also a movie which is extra good and a new one soon being released. The main characters are Katniss, Peter and Gale. If I were asked to describe this book in one word, I would be standing there pondering that question for about a week, trying to find one that suits it best. Action, romance, danger, death, murder, hiding, survival, intelligence, loyalty, disloyalty, trust and distrust are just some of those words that would be thrown back and forth in my mind. This story has been described by Stephanie Meyer, as “amazing”, however seeing as she can’t write an enticing story (no offence intended, just my opinion), this comment does not need to be taken seriously. Nevertheless, Meyer does manage to do one thing right, and that is of course, use the word amazing to describe a simply incredible book. The Hunger Games is filled to the brim with action and beyond interesting story lines which definitely kept me on my toes, and because of this, I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. You must read this! This is definitely a 10/10, with a minor flaw which is just my opinion-Collins at times finds herself diving into too much detail which can bore me at times. Despite this, I am still in love with The Hunger Games and I am definitely a fan of Katniss – in fact, truth be told, I am a fan of any strong female protagonist – especially in this kind of situation as it shows how strong she is, with the power to overcome the challenges she is faced, and dominate all else in her path. The Hunger Games is a must!

This book is a fantastic book, it is definitely something to read if you love all kinds of adventure, fantasy, suspense an a little bit of romance. The thing i really love about this book is how there is something different on each page, you never know whats going to happen. You will never want to stop reading because it is so extreme an just draws you in. My favourite character by far is Rue because she is so cute and mysterious. My favourite part of this book, as sad as it is, is when Rue dies. It was so sad I was literally crying. I thought the song was also sad. The hunger games is a book that you HAVE to read. I was so sad when it finished. I can’t wait to read the next two. I recommend this book to 12+ it is a great book for almost everyone!

THE HUNGER GAMES – Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a spectacular book that is my all time favourite.
I first heard about this book from my cousin who recommended it to me as she said I wold love it and not be able to put the book down, which for me was exactly true.
The Hunger Games is just so intriguing and you always want to find out what is going to happen next as everything is mysterious.
The book is about twelve districts that are ruled by a place that everyone from the districts hate, it is called… The Capital. When one boy and one girl is selected from all twelve districts they go of to the capital to train and then compete in the ‘oh so famous’ arena.
They win when only one victor is left standing.
When Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister Primrose Everdeen’s place in the 74th Hunger Games as the girls tribute it was in every aspect a shock to everyone as she is the first person to volunteer.
In the arena as the games were being played, Katniss Everdeen tries to bomb up one of the big groups that is working together and has all their supplies equipment stacked up as Rue from district 11 who has teamed up with Katniss Everdeen, is lighting the grass/plants on fire, as being done Rue gets caught and ends up trapped when Katniss finds her and gets her out and thinks all is good, everything goes down hill as Rue is shoot in the stomach with an arrow.
This for me had to be the most saddest part of the book as they describe ever so carefully to not miss a single detail.
I would rate The Hunger Games 10 out of 10 as it is my favourite book and has always got me at the edge of my seat or never to stop until I have completed.
I would recommend this book to anyone over 11, someone who likes to read a little about fighting and doesn’t get scared by death and also someone that likes some mysteriousness in there life.
The Hunger Games is amazing and so is the rest of the series.

I read this book with my Lit Circles to group and I loved it! I loved the book but I hated having it for Lit Circles because I had to stop at a certain point! This book is about 12 districts who are all ruled by a place called the Capitol. This districts had wars but they stopped but when this happened they had to get two tributes from each district to fight until death in the Hunger Games! My favourite character would have to be Rue, because through she is small and young, she knows how to look after herself. I found this book so sad and got really upset in some parts but I would recommend this book to everyone who likes adventure! I would rate this book a 10/10 because it was action packed full with twists and turns!

The first time I read this book I could not put it down! It is so well written that after reading only a page it has you hooked. The book always has another plot twist and i think that really makes you want to keep reading. The book is sad at times but it is also filled with action. It is an amazing book and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good read! I would definitely rate this book a ten out of ten!

The hunger games is a fantastic book about the twelve districts, they battle one and another, and i mean not battle but kill! There is only one person two win.. but something changes. Two children, a boy and girl get chosen from each district, and for district twelve, which is the main district. Rue was a little girl from on of the districts. I thought it was very sad when Rue died but I liked how caring Katniss ( the main character ) was singing the lullaby and placing the flowers over her. I love the fact that Katniss and Peter, were going to take there lives because they didn’t want to kill each other. So they were going to eat poison berries.. but the people in charge stopped it because, it would then not be a great competition. I rate it 10/10 for the hunger games!!!! 🙂

I love all the books in the series and wasn’t able to put it down once i picked it up, i spent a couple of late nights reading (probably when i wasn’t supposed to) just so i could find out what happened next.
I loved the way it used suspense and at the end of each chapter it had something that would make you want to use the next chapter.
I watched the movie first and my friend told me that I had to read the books so I lent them of her and I think I finished the first one within a week.
I rather the books more then the movie, probably because they last longer then the movie does.
I would recommend this book to everybody who loves action, adventure, romance and suspense all rolled into one

I love this book! I read it with my Lit. Circles group and I had to read the book over a course of four weeks and it was so annoying. My favourite character would have to be Rue, because through she is small and young, she knows how to look after herself. I don’t like the way that Katniss’ mother is zoned out half the time, it would be scary not having someone looking after you. I hate it how the Capitol thinks they have control over everyone else, and that they can just take random kids and make them fight to the death. They don’t even think about the fact that the life of the child’s family will be ruined forever. I wish I could just give Katniss water when she needs it; it would be so easy for me to turn on a tap. This makes me feel grateful for everything I have.
I would rate this book a 10/10 because it is so believable and it is hard to put it down.
I would recommend this book to people aged 13+ because younger kids might not understand or they might ind it a bit scary.
‘The Hunger Games’ is an action packed thriller with twists and turns on every page.

I love this book! I got all three for christmas and I started reading that morning and could not stop! It had me hooked! I think It’s so well written. I loved how this book had you in suspense. I also liked how the story was through the eyes of Katniss. Reading this book made me fell like I was in the arena fighting it out to stay alive! It felt very real. I thought it was very sad when Rue died but I liked how caring Katniss was singing the lullaby and placing the flowers over her.
I think this book would be great for ages 12+ I would recommend it for people who like an adventure and don’t mind scary books! 9/10 from me.

I’ve finished the Hunger Games Series and I absolutley loved it. Some moments were just too exciting you wanted to skip 100 pages to find out the ending. The first book was the best for me, I found it the most exciting. The second book was amazing two I also recommend that book. But the third book wasn’t as good. It was good but it wasn’t amazing like the others. Overall I thought the series was great and I recommend everyone to read it if the haven’t already.

I absolutely loved this book! My dad recommended it to me when the movie reviews were up, and he said that it would be a good book. And it was! It was absolutely brilliant! I loved how Katniss wasn’t friendly or into the love-dovey stuff. She was an independent, hard working woman who didn’t have time to be nice. She had experienced a hardship when she was younger, and that had shaped who she was. The whole idea of the Hunger Games was so creative and original. The people in the Capital were obviously horrible people if they created a game where children fight to the death. You’d be scarred for life if you won, and your family would be scarred for life if you lost. I don’t know if I can choose a favourite character. I loved how independent and rebellious Katniss was, but I also liked Peeta, and how kind he was. I was so devastated when he didn’t forgive Katniss for faking her love for him, and their friendship was over. It was also extremely sad when Rue died, but I liked how Katniss said goodbye to her, with a lullaby, and how she sent her off, covering her in flowers. It was so sweet. I would recommend this book to everyone ranging from 11 to 25. Depends on what you like, but this book has a bit of romance and adventure, but you also have to have a bit of a hard stomach with all the violence in the Hunger Games, but it isn’t that bad. I rate it 10/10, it was brilliant!

I loved the Hunger Games Book 1 it was amazing and I have never read a book like it before. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss and Peeta ended up winning the games. My favourite character would of had to been Katniss. She is a fighter and a nice person. The least favourite part of the book was when Rue died it was really sad. Overall I rate the book 9.5/10!!!

I think that this book is way better than the movie because it explains all lot more in the book than it even shows in the movie. The best part in the book is when she volunteers herself to go in the hunger games after her sister is chosen. I also like when she finds Peter in mud where he has been cut in the leg and left for dead. What i don’t like about the book is when Rue dies because she was very special to Katniss. The most interesting part in the book is that the place they are in is poor and a bit like Africa but when the peace-keepers come to the town ( district 12 ) and then the movie becomes a bit futuristic.

This book is really good! I saw the movie and read the book and I thought both were equally really good! I loved how detailed the book is and how the author (Suzanne Collins) really makes you feel like your the character in the games. This book is also really sad since plenty of people die when they’re in the games but at the same time it’s not very sad because you are on edge of every page you read because the book is so well written it keeps making you want to read more and you get lost lost in the book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone 11 or 12+ because it is quite violent and to anyone who just wants a really good read. 8/10 🙂

This is one of my favourite books because I thought it was very well written and it told the story of Katniss very well through her struggles on her amazing adventure! I loved how the author wrote the action in so much detail! My favourite character was Katniss for sure, not only because she was the main character, but because she had passion and persistence throughout the movie and I found that quite interesting for the movie and especially for Katniss. I would rate this book an overall 10000000000000/10 because of it’s outstanding adventurous journey throughout the book!

The Hunger Games is a great book. It is also a very inspiring book because it shows how much Katniss loved her sister and she tried very hard to win the Hunger Games for her. I really liked the book and Katniss because she displayed lots of courage, bravery and love for Peeta and Primrose. It is very sad with all the death it has but it has a very nice story. The Hunger Games is very unique as it has a very different story line. What I also like about the Hunger Games is it has very futuristic things in the Capitol and very olden day things in the District. The Hunger Games is my favourite book.

THE HUNGER GAMES
This book grabbed my attention with its name “THE HUNGER GAMES” as those words could mean so many things. I think that the author Suzanne Collins made those three words mean so much more than just words, they are a symbol of bravery, rebellion and friendship.
For me this book was like going back in time to early Roman times when gladiators fought until the death. Instead this book was set in the future in America. The general plot was that there are twelve districts, district 1 being the richest they hold the anneal hunger games and district 12 being the poorest. Each year they have a boy and a girl from each district go to the capital (district 12) and fight in a big arena until there is only one survivor.
The book was written through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen a 16 year old girl form district 12. Her and a boy named Peta get chosen to represent district 12 in the huger games.
But this book was so detailed and so well written that you felt like it was you going into that arena, planning a way of staying alive, it really did feel real.
I really liked the suspense in this book i could not stop reading. The way Suzanne Collins planed the book is what makes this book so exhilarating, terrifying, entertaining and exciting. On almost every page there was something that made you cry, gasp, or burst out laughing. There were so many twists and turns in the book that not even I could tell what was going to happen next.
In summary, I liked this book because it really gripped my attention from the start and was interesting right from the first page. I think the author did an amazing job writing this book, it had a lot of depth and really captured the reader. I think this book is suitable for the ages 12 and up.

The hunger games i a really amazing book about the people on the journey through the game. we see many things happen that we dont expect so if that what you like you will love this book i loved it and it was such an amazing book i give it a 10/10.

I love the hunger games! My favourite character is Katniss because she is brave and fights to survive. This is a 10/10 book and I would recommend it to any one over 10 years old because there is a lot of violence and dyeing. My fav part of the book is when Peet and Katniss kiss because its so romantic and it brings them good luck to survive. The one thing I didn’t like was how much killing there was because i felt sorry for the ones who didn’t know how to defend them selves. I would highly recommend this book even if you have seen the movie already.

In this futuristic world 12 districts are controlled by the capitol. Each year the capital forces each district to offer up one male and female tribute between the ages 12 and 18. These 24 tributes are delivered into the custody of the capital. They are then transferred to an arena where they will compete in a televised fight to the death until a lone victor remains. This book is accounted from the point of view of katniss Everdeen. Who is the girl tribute from district 12 after volunteering to take the place of her 12 year old sister prim in the seventy fourth annual hunger games. The second tribute is petter melark. Each twist and turn keeps you completely hooked and its almost impossible to put down. I absolutely loved this book, it’s amazing. I rate it 10/10 !!!!

I loved this book! I loved how it was action but also romantic. I haven’t read the next 2 yet but I am really excited too. I saw the movie before I read the book and after I saw it I knew I had to read it. The movie was definitely one of the best I have ever seen. If you haven’t read the book or seen the movie yet I would recommend it to you. I rate it 9/10 and think it is suitable for ages 12+

i thought this book was a bit different to the movie but i still enjoyed it. there are lots of twists and turns and lots of adventure. my favourite character is katniss because she is very talented and is skilled at archery, and she is also a good hunter. i loved the relationship she had with her sister because she would not let her sister go into the hunger games so she went for her, witch i think is sweet.

I loved The Hunger Games, it is a really gripping and well written book that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through the novel. My favourite part of the book was the actual games. It was written so well, very descriptive and I read the whole part of the book about the actual Hunger Games in one go because I just couldn’t put the book down. My favourite character was Katniss at the start of the book but as it progressed I grew to love Peter more and more. I feel I related the most to Primrose because having an older sister I found I relate to how she was feeling the day of the reaping and how terrible she would have felt about Katniss taking her place and volunteering. I hated the part near the end of the book when Katniss breaks Peter’s heart because I felt so sorry for Peter and because I had gotten quite fond of him and of them being a couple.
I recommend this book to everyone over 12 because it is such a terrific book!

The book “Hunger Games” is set in the future, where a boy and girl from each district have to compete in the annual Hunger Games, where they battle to the death. When Katniss volunteers to take her little sisters place, she becomes even more brave and determined to come back for Prim (her sister), her mum and her best friend Gale. Peeta and Katniss are the 2 from discrict 12 that have to go, and they have to go through A LOT during the Hunger Games. My favourite character is Katniss because she is very brave, and very handy with a bow and arrow. This book is a mix of action, adventure and a little bit of romance, but it is a fantastic book in the series, so I would definitely recommend people maybe 11+ to read this. I didn’t have a least favourite part because the whole book is just so action packed and amazing! People who would like this book would be people who like a lot of action. This is one of my favourite books of all time. 10/10.

The story is based around the character of Katniss Everdeen. She has been chosen to compete in this year’s Hunger games. Katniss deals with lots of things facing death, friendship and something that will excite you at the end of the book. I would encourage people to read this book who are aged from 10-11 and it is a tear jerker so bring those tissues out. I would strongly recommend this book.

I read the hunger games for my lit circles book. I was so glued to the book that i never wanted to put it down. I would be reading the book til midnight not realizing what the time was. I wouldn’t really know what me favourite part of the book was because it was always good to read, but one of my favourite parts was when Rue and Katniss teamed up because they are both my favourite characters and they worked really well as a team. My favourite character is Katniss Everdeen. She is a female tribute from District 12. At the age of 16, Katniss volunteers to enter the 74th Hunger Games after her sister, Primrose, is chosen to be a tribute. Her father, a coal miner, died in a mine explosion; since then, Katniss has become the primary supporter of her mother and younger sister. She gets food by hunting illegally in the forest outside District 12. Because of this, Katniss has strong survivalist instincts and is a wonderful archer. Katniss has straight long black hair, which she normally pulls back into a long braid, olive skin, and gray eyes. She is also known as “the girl who was on fire” during the Hunger Games; she earned this title from her fierce personality and the outfits created for her by her stylist, Cinna. she stands up for her self and supports her family. Katniss is also a really great shooter to catch animals and is very smart with her plants. I love the way they show how tough Katniss really is and how hard her life is. Another one of my favourite characters is Rue. Rue is the small 12-year-old tribute from District 11 who was selected to participate in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. She is described as being small and easily underestimated by other competitors. Rue had formed an alliance with Katniss Everdeen after warning her about a nest of tracker jackers. Rue decided to trust Katniss only because of the pin she wore over her heart, the famous mockingjay pin. Rue is very good at moving through the trees without being heard and knows her plants like Katniss. Some of my favourite parts of the Hunger games are with these two characters so you should defiantly read it to find out what happens to them in the arena.
I would recomend this book to anyone who likes books about adventure. But if you don’t like books with people killing each other i wouldn’t recomend this for you to read. For some reasons i would also recomend this book to year 6 and up.

I borrowed my sisters copy of this book and I finished it in less than a week. It was that good. I recommend reading the book before watching the movie, because all of the emotion that Katniss goes through in the book never really gets expressed in the film. The book is written very well, and I certainly felt a bit horrified at the more gruesome bits. My favourite parts of the book were when Peeta and Katniss were together, and the more action packed moments such as when the tracker jackers were found, and near the end of the games. My favourite characters were Katniss, Peeta and Rue. I loved every word of the book. I give it 20/10, and I think it’s suitable for experienced readers from 12+

I loved the Hunger Games so much because it was thrilling and I was always excited on what was on the next page. My favourite part was the part where Katniss and Peeta had won and one of them had to die so the other could win. This part was cute because both of them wanted to die for each other and I just really liked. My favourite character is Peeta because he was so considerate to Katniss even if it was to get sponsers. I love this book so much I have read it so many times and each time I read it I can’t put it down, even though I knew what was going to happen. This book is suitable for people that like intense books and are in for a good adventure. Any person can read it because it is easy to understand.

Kattniss Everdeen is just a normal girl in district twelve. Of course she’s nervous on the day of the reaping, but who isn’t? She never thought that she’d actually end up being a tribute for district twelve ! After farewells, a long train ride, and making acquaintance with her fellow tribute, Katniss is taught to fight, and made to look ‘presentable’. She will have to fight for her own life, and hope that she is the last one standing. She has to be the Victor, how will her mother and sister survive without her ?
This book is amazing, so amazing a read it in a day ! I love this book because the idea is so unique, new and strong. I would recomend it to anyone who loves sci fi, action, and love !

The Hunger Games is a dramatic love story of the tributes of district 12. The fighting to the death with 23 other tributes, a girl and a boy from 11 other districts. Peeta and Katniss have a love bond that their mentor told Katniss to start for they can both go back to their poor district. The hunger games is action packed, crying, love story and jaw dropping movie and book. There are many different characters. Katniss’ Dad died in mines which there district does. Katniss’ only chance of surviving in their district is to go in to the wood and kill the animals then sell them in the black market. Gale is Katniss’ friend and helps her in the woods. I remmond this book to everyone that enjoys watching love, fighting and action. I rate this an 11/10

The Hunger Games is a fantastic futuristic story of survival, love and strength. You follow Katniss into her poor and weak world called District 12 where she hunts illegally to keep her family alive. When she is chosen for the Capitals’s Hunger Games she takes it as a death sentence but she is willing to push that aside for her family.
The Hunger Games is a edge of your seat, action packed kind of book. It’s impossible to put this book down! You get so attached to the characters that when one dies you feel like you knew them so well. This just proves how well this book has been written. Suzanne Collins has the imagination of an artist. She is an Artist! This material is amazing and something that probably took forever to come up with. I rate the Hunger Games 10/10! 🙂
I recommend it to anyone that doesn’t mind a bit of blood and guts and loves lot’s of Adventure.

The Hunger Games Book Review
This has to be the best book I have ever read, I literally could not put it down! it was so much better than than than the movie.
I had been waiting so long to start to read it and I am really glad that I did!
the book was very descriptive and easy to understand, it is also very well written.
This book I could honestly not put it down, I would recommend this book to anyone 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12’s! it is a fiction book with a bit of romance, I will admit it made me cry a few times like when Katniss was putting the flowers in Rues hair.
I would rate this book a 10/10 for sure its my favorite book and I seriously can’t wait to read the next two! 🙂

The Hunger Games was a book that I could not put down. I had been waiting for a while to read this book, and only took me 3 hours to read altogether. The book was full of action and it had a very different story line compared to many other books that I have read. I wasn’t about some magical word like harry potter or something romantic like twilight, this book is about gruesome fights and deaths, with a bit of love and definitely survival. The most emotional part for me was when Katniss (main character) volunteered her life in place of her sister’s. The story became more intense as it got into the main part, the moment it reach that point the story was definitely about life and death as well as knowing how to survive. There were certain points where it got me questioning things like ‘ is she going to survive?’ and there were points that got me on the edge of my seat. My favourite character was Katniss Everdeen because she was brave, strong both mentally and physically. She was a character who was very determined but she wasn’t a killing machine like some other characters. I would recommend this to people 12+ and I rate this book 9/10.

Recently i’ve read all the hunger games series and i just can not get enough of it i hope they keep on writing more and more because i absolutely loved this book (relating to the first book) all the way through i could feel the adrenalin pumping through my veins as if i was in the book i would rate this book 10/10 hands down because it’s a book that just makes you want to get up and be adventurous and try new things and never give up, i recommend it to people from ages 12+ it’s an amazing book!

this book was amazing!!!! i loved it!! it is about a 16 year old girl who takes her sisters spot in ‘the hunger games’ fighting for life in a stadium filled with traps, forests, lakes and open grounds where all the people from the capitol can sit and watch as 24 teenagers fit for there life. As the long days go by, there ends up being just Katerina and the boy from her district. and they where ‘deeply in love’.

Recently, I saw the film ‘The Hunger Games’, and straight away I knew I had to read the book series, which is a trio written by Suzanne Collins.
After reading this book, I was overpowered with my sudden love for the characters, and the way that even though the story was so unrealistic, I felt like I could relate to the characters in the novel.
The story never has a quiet moment, all jam packed with action, love, drama, passion and heartache, everything you need in a good book. There is never a boring moment in this book, this is why I recommend it to all teenagers, even if they arent regular readers, there are some really strong messages about ethics and morals which come through very strongly.
The world of The Hunger Games, is one that can hook you in at the first minute, and there is no way that you can stop at just reading one book! Suzanne Collins is an amazing author, and has got me addicted to these books, not knowing what will be on the next page.
As I said, I reccomend this to all teenagers, who are interested in action thriller, and with a fantasy feel. Great for both males and females, and of course adults! This book is a very powerful one which can be read over and over, but don’t forget the next two in this trio, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

Wow. Is this book good! It is one of the most interesting dystopian books I’ve ever read and it has an amazing outline of characters and storyline in the first few pages.
It is so interesting to learn about the world the people in Panem live in because it is so different from our own world.
My favourite part of this amazing book was the cave scenes… which are so beautiful, but also a spoiler! Let’s just say there is some really beautiful moments that happen in a cave!
My least favourite part is the end. It really makes me hate Katniss, but leads perfectly to a second book. Trust me, there are few parts you’d dislike because it is so interesting to read about all of the crazy, weird and sad things.
I can definitely relate to Peeta. He’s shy and realistic and considerate. He is one of the few people in the book who really cares, and it shows us that even in the toughest of situations there are good people in the world. He is my favourite character too!
I would only change the end of the book, because I really hate what happens! But all in all I think that everything that happens is really for the best-even though sometimes it’s sad.
The type of person that would like this book would be someone who likes Harry Potter, or any ‘fantasy’ world. I’d also recommend it teenagers.

I recommend the book The HUnger Games. Although some of you have sene the movie the book is worth reading. The book is more detailed and exciting than the movie and would strongly recommend it to anyone. Like most people my favourite characters are Peeta and Katniss, they are both strong minded and are very brave in both the film and the book. I loved this book, I couldn’t stop reading it. It was amazing on so many levels and is a book that needs to be read. Anyone that loves books with exhilarating and thrilling moments, this is the book for you.

I loved The Hunger Games. I loved how there was a lot of action and I was at times a bit disturbed at the violence but it made the book exciting and I just couldn’t put it down! I absolutely love Peeta TEAM PEETA ALL THE WAY! I loved how Katniss looked after him in the arena and I thought it was just so cute. I thought it was an absolutely fantastic book. I recommend it for anyone but probably not younger children because of the vioilence but for older kids definitely read it!

The hunger games is one of my favourite books ever! I really enjoyed reading this book. It really gets you hooked! Once you read the first couple of pages you can’t put the book down! I finished this book in 2 days because it was so interesting. I also really enjoyed the other books in the series. I love Katniss she is a really outgoing, tomboyish, kind, family type of girl. She is a really inspirational character who grows as the book progresses. Suzanne Collins has put this book together really well in a way that kids and adults really enjoy it. The book is filled with lots of twists and turns and once a problem is resolved a new one surfaces! I would rate this book a 9 and a half out of 10. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 12 who likes a good read! 🙂 I recommend this book to anyone that likes adventure, romance and action.

My favourite part is when Katniss has to say goodbye to her family because it is very sad. I really enjoyed this book because it is very exciting and you never want to pit it down. I would recommend this book to people over the age of 12 because of violence. This is an an amazing book and I would rate it a 10/10.

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins is such a phenomenal, inspirational, amazing book which I loved every second of reading. Firstly I have to say that i did see the movie before i read the book which I know is utterly terrible but my friend was practically dragging me into the cinema, and I do wish I had read the book first, but the book was so descriptive and lifelike that it was like my first time entering the awesome world that Suzanne Collins has created.
The book is about a 16 year old Girl, Katniss Everdeen, who lives in District 12 – the poorest of all the districts in Panem. The Capitol run the annual Hunger Games, where two tributes from each district must fight until only one tribute is left. During the reaping – to find out who the two tributes from the district are – Katniss’ sister Primrose’s name is called out. Katniss rushes out and volunteers as tribute. The male tribute’s name is called out and Katniss is worried that her best friend Gale will be chosen, but instead Peeta Mellark – the baker’s son- is chosen. Peeta and Katniss travel to the Capitol and prepare for the games with the help of District 12’s only ever victor, Haymitch Abernathy. What happens next? Read or watch to find out!!!
I absolutely adore this book and I am currently at the end of Catching Fire, the second book in the series and I can’t wait to start Mockingjay, the third and final book. The movies were great and I definitely recommend these books to everyone over the age of 12 because it can get a bit violent. It is amazing and I love this book!!!

I won’t tell you too much about the story as I don’t want to spoil it however, I loved this book. My favourite character was Peeta. I could not physically put this book down once I had it in my hands and there is no other book that compared to it. “May the odds be ever in your favour”. After you read the book, you must watch the movie. It is also very good. I reccomend this to mature ages (a bit intense). 5/5,

This has been the best week ever in Lit. Circles. The Hunger Games is coming to an end and in each chapter, I found the book dragging more and more of my concentration into it. Imagining the reactions on the faces of the characters, cringing at every wound they get and feeling every heartfelt moment in the book as they would. If I had to compare this book to any other book that I have read, this would have to be in my top three. They face their greatest enemies, which are not always the most obvious ones. Katniss and Peeta make a final decision that could change the destiny of the country. I wouldn’t like to be in the Hunger Games, even though action, and blood guts appeal to me, I don’t think that I would be able to cope facing death every day, knowing that anyone could be waiting for me to walk by and kill me. From my opinion its a stupid idea, and you can’t help but feel sorry for the families of those who died in the Games. The winner(s) would have to live with the fact that they were murderers and killed innocent lives, although I’m not sure about those tributes from 1, 2 and 4. They seem to have hearts of steel, not caring if they kill people, but only that they will win. Katniss and Peeta’s journey in the Games might be over for now, but from that ending in the book, I doubt that it will end as they expect it to.

This book is amazing! It grabs you from the very first page and urges you to read on! It is an action novel, but also has a bit of romance in there as well which is perfect! It is a very intense novel. The whole idea of the book is very clever and the author has put it together really well! You will fall in love with the characters! Overall, this is a MUST READ and is so worth the wait to get it! I would rate it 10/10 🙂

The Hunger Games is definitely a book that you should read. Firstly, the plot of the book is just great. Suzanne Collins is a pure genius for coming up with the Hunger Games for her book. Although the storyline seems grim, and it definitely is, but there is also a hint of romance in it, which lightens the mood a fair bit. The book gets really intense during the actual games and I struggled to put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone, it’s absolutely amazing.

The hunger games is one of the best book that i have ever read. It is just so hard to stop reading. I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen next. This story is about a game, in the game 2 people, a boy and a girl are chosen from each district to compete in ‘The Hunger Games’ in the game they have to fight and kill to win. Katniss’ sister, Prim was chosen for the girl tribute but Katniss volunteered instead of her. This book also has some romance in it. I loved The Hunger Games and i am excited to read the next one! 10/10!!! 😀

The Hunger games is the perfect companion for girls who like a bit of Romance and a bit of action. Both a tear jerker and a thriller if you manage to put this book down with out finding it the least bit interesting than your just on of those people that doesn’t like good books. Based in the future Katniss chooses to replace her sister in the 74 hunger games because being chosen means certain death. I would like to recommend the hunger games. It is a thrilling tale about the near future. This book is based on killing or surviving. The main character in the story is Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark and they are chosen to represent district 12 in the 74th Hunger games. The book is a lot more descriptive than the movie and I would recommend reading the book first to understand what it’s about. They embark on troubled time, facing death at every corner and making allys. It is a super book and I would recommend this book to people how enjoy action and thriller books and also romance, this book is suitable from the age of 12 and over. I give the Hunger games a 10/10 😀

I loved this book, I kept me captivated every second. I literally couldn’t put it down, I bought it everywhere with me reading it. It is such an unusual story line, I could’t stop thinking about it and what would happen next. I loved the detail used to describe katniss’ feeling. I rate this book 9/10. I would definitely read it again if I’m bored. I suggest it for people 12 years old and up.

A good book that I have read was the hunger games. I liked the book but I thought that the movie had more tension and action. But in the book I like it more because you have more details about the events. Just like on the train it tells us about how they stuff their face with food and in the movie the go…. i was so full after dinner. Or something like that. Anyway it had a romantic touch in it and a great amount of action. It was filled with action. That is why I liked the book. I give the book a 8/10 🙂

I never thought that I would want to read the hunger games, but I went with my family to see the movie and I really really enjoyed it, so i decided to choose the hunger games for Lit Circles, I am really enjoying it, my favourite character is Katniss because she is so strong and brave, to stand up and volunteer, and she is very caring. My favourite part is when Katniss is getting ready to say goodbye to everyone and travel to the capitol with Peeta. My Least favourite part which was very sad, was when one of the contestants, who was very young, dies, but Im not going to say. even if you are thinking about not ever reading it, I really think you should, because once you start, you really dont want to put it down. I rate it 9/10, i love this series, and am sure to read the others

I was really happy with the way the ‘Hunger Games’ is set out. I love how this book is futuristic, so it’s all in everyones imagination and I love the thought that Suzanne Collins has out in to the book by the way she has set it so one event leads to the next. My favourite character in the book is Gale because of his bravery, him and Katniss go out everyday, hunt to feed their families, sell things at the ‘Hob’ and come home just before dark when everything that they did that day was illegal. He isn’t afraid of Katniss going into the games, he believes in her and her ability to hunt and use her bow and arrows. I loved the friendship between Katniss and Rue. I think they made a great team, Rue being fast and hard to catch along with Katniss being a good hunter and being daring and eager. This action packed book is perfect for any age! (My nan read it and loved it!) I think this is a great book and I’m looking forward to reading the trilogy.

The Hunger Games is Action Packed and full of suspense! Once you start you cant put it down! I love how descriptive and powerful it is. You get so attached to the characters in the book that when one of them dies or something awful happens to them you feel like you have lost someone. It’s an amazingly powerful read and a little gory ant times!! I recommed this book to anyone over the age of 12. I rate this book 100/100. 1000/1000. 10000/10000!!

I recommend the book Hunger games.Even though everyone has probably already seen the movie the book describes so much more. It has a great story line and is very descriptive.I liked it because it has really good characters and it might be a bit scary for some people it really is one of the best books i have read.I also think you should get the movie Hunger games in the linc because i think everyone would hire it out.

This book is great it is so interesting you never know what is going to happen next. It is so well written that I can picture everything I read in the book in my head! It really hooks you in and gives you an excuse to stay up late 😛 It’s AWESOME 😉 My favourite character is Katniss because she is so brave and kind. I wish I was brave enough to take risks like that!!! I mean i thought i was a risk taker… I recommend this book to everyone because I know you’ll all love it :):):) I would definitely rate this book 10/10!!!

The Hunger Games is a descriptive, action packed love story about a girl called Katniss Everdeen. My favourite part of the book/movie was when Katniss and Peeta finally achieved what they always wanted. My favourite character is of course Katniss. Katniss is a strong minded, loving brave girl who will do anything for the people she loves and she will go to any lengths to be what she believes in. I would recommend this for anyone that liked Harry Potter and wants to read an exciting adventure. I rate this book 10/10 and it is best for all high school students 😀

As soon as I read the first chapter, I couldn’t put it down! I really felt like I was there watching everything happen. When I finished, I went out and bought the next two straight away, it was so good! The hunger games is about 12 districts that have tributes who fight against each other in an arena set to different climates, so it is a test of survival. Some have advantages, others disadvantages, but in the end there can only be one winner. It is based around Katniss, one of the tributes from District 12 and the journey she faces before and during the games. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys books that make them feel like they are actually in the book. I would recommend it to people over the age of 11-12 and would rate it 10/10 !!

The Hunger Games is a really good series, I coudn’t stop reading the books!! . It is mainly about 12 tributes who have to fight each other to death until their is only one winner. My favoroute character was Katniss as she volunteered to be a tribute in order to save her sister prim. I love how she stayed focused and was able to provide meals for her family by hunting outside of district 12 even though she could get in trouble. I also loved the character peeta as he protects Katniss during the Hunger games and I really liked his cake decorating skills and how he used his skill during the Hunger games to try and blend in with the scenery.I would have to say that this series is one of the best I have read and rate it 10/10. 🙂

The Hunger Games is one of the best series of books I have ever read. It is very similar to Harry Potter in a way that gets you hooked from the first chapter. I like it because there is always a bombshell at the end of a chapter which makes you want to keep reading it. I finished all 3 books in 5 days! My parents had to force me out of my room and back into the real world! When I wasn’t reading the books I found myself thinking about it constantly through-out the day. I was so moved by this book and the imagination of the author. I always wondered how she came up with something as detailed and real as the Hunger Games, the Reaping and the Capitol. My favourite part in the book was when Katniss covers Rue in flowers after she dies. It shows that she isn’t just a competitor in the Games, she cares about the other tributes.
I recommend The Hunger Games to anyone who doesn’t mind reading a bit of gruesome stuff or adventure. Make sure ou have the second book on stand by for when you have finished the first because you will want to go straight onto the next one!!

The Hunger Games in one word can be summed up as amazing. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I love the hunger games because of the drama, romance, action and interesting scenarios that Suzanne Collins has put into the book. The characters are another good thing because they seemed so real, and the detail of every little thing is what makes it amazing. My favourite part of this book? Well, I’d have to say page 1 – page 454. There was nothing bad about this book. I give this book 1,000,000/10, thats how good it was with a 10+ rating. The Hunger Games where do I start, I love this book because Peeta showed so much love for Katniss, it broke my heart that she didn’t love him, it made me angry and I willed it to be. My favourite part of the book was when she was with Rue because she seemed sweeter and gentler. But I think she was so harsh on everyone, I realise this was only because she wanted to get home, but I hated that she was like that, I don’t know this is because I have read the series and know how it turns out that angers me but I’m not sure. My favourite character was Peeta he cared for her so much and was always so gentile and always nice. The most heartbreaking parts in the book was when he told the Capitol that he had come to the Games with the person that he loved during the interview and at the very end when he realizes that she was just using him, it left me clutching my heart in despair. But I also believed that she broke both Gale and Peeta’s hearts and I hated her for that. If I had to change the way the book ended I probably wouldn’t ,yet… mostly because it has to go this way so the rest of the series has somewhere to from. I recommend this to people who haven’t seen the movie because the books are always better, and who wants to start reading again because this was the book that kicked start me into reading again.

I would love to recommend to everyone a great book called the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is a great novel about a frightening tv show, where 24 competitors are selected from 12 different districts, and are placed in an arena to fight to the death. This book is amazing and very hard to put down, as it always keeps you in suspense and is never boring. There is lots of action and survival techniques involved as the book is basically about staying alive. My favourite character was Rue, because she sounded so cute and her story from her district was interesting. I would rate this book 10/10 because it was so amazing!! A movie has been released for this book and it’s just as great as this book, but I think the book should be read first so you will have a better understanding of the movie! Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND BOOK! I saw it at the movies 2 nights ago and I fell in love right away. Its my favourite movie at the moment and I could watch it over and over and over again. I would never get tired of it! I love the book because it has so much detail and you can see it in your head as you read. Its just an awesome storyline. My favourite part of the book was when Katniss shoots Cato in the head and she and Peeta win the games. I know I sound really cruel and mean but it was just so awesome! My favourite character would be Gale because he just seems so strong and just a nice person. He is always there for Katniss when she needs him and he is a great hunting partner. One of my least favourite bits was when it had a whole chapter on just sitting in a cave talking and it kind of bored me. But I pushed through because I knew it would get better! I would definetely reccommend this book and movie to others because its just such a great movie and book to watch and read! I recommend to read the book first because it explains things so much more and when you see the movie it’s easier to understand. If you are 12+ you should see this movie and read the book because it has lots and lots of violence and is based on killing other people so YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! 🙂 If you like action, adventure, violence and romance, this is the book for you!

The hunger games are brilliant! I have just finished reading the hunger games, and now i am reading catching fire. Once you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down… There is a girl names Katniss, and she lives in District 12, which is a very poor district. Her sister gets picked out to be in the Hunger Games, (which is a horrible televised game where its kill or be killed) and Katniss immediately volunteers as tribute. My favourite tribute was definitely Rue, from district 11. I was crying when she died because it was sooo sad 😦 This book has romance and adventure, so if your into that kind of thing, it is definitely worth reading…

This is my favourite book by far!!! I love everything especially the characters, storyline and detail!!My favourite part of the book is when Clove catches Katniss and tortures her with the knife and then when Thresh comes, because it was the most thrilling, gut-wrenching, nail biting chapter of the book I was so suprised of what happened!! My least favourite part of the book is when Rue gets killed because I hate sad parts in a book but other than that I have no parts that I hate! My favourite character is Katniss and Cinna because they both were kind and understanding. I wouldn’t change this book at all I love it all. It is a long book but it is worth the time I give this book a ten out of ten!

I have just started reading this book and I am really enjoying it. I think it has got a really good story line and great plots. If you like books about adventures and survival you will like this book. Its similar to the tomorrow when the war began series in that they are both book about survival and hunting. I can’t wait to read the rest of the book to find out what happens. So far I would recommend this book for people aged 12 and over : )

The hunger games series are the most creative, gruesome, amazing, interesting, fantastic and different books I have ever read!
The first book, Hunger games, is a book of adventure, love, loyalty and friendship. This series is a must read, it is certainly a fresh and new type of writing, and a story line that is different to any other book I have ever read.
My favourite character is definitely Katniss. She is a brave and strong minded person. This is shown when she volunteers to courageously and selflessly take her sisters place in the Hunger games, she could of just kept quiet and give her sister no option but to compete in the Hunger games, where she would fight to death. But she doesn’t. Katniss also is strong in the way she controls her emotions, the whole time she was competing in the Hunger games she stayed positive and did not cry in pain or worry. She just kept fighting.
My favourite part in the book is when Katniss joins forces with Rue in the hunger games. I find the relationship so important, Rue had no hope in winning the Hunger games, but Katniss felt the urge to protect her. When Rue dies, tears are brought to my eyes when Katniss lays the flowers around her and sings the song that Rue used to sing to the Mockingjays.
I would definitely recommend this book to Girls and boys aged 12+, it is such an amazing book, that is full of love and adventure. I would rate it 10/10 for its strong story line and well described and created characters.

HUNGER GAMES ! ! 10/10!!!! amazing! The movie will be absolutely outstanding, It might even become better than Harry Potter. Little Primrose was chosen for the Hunger Games, ruled by the Capitol, the ruler of District 12. District 12 was the poorest city. I love the storyline, nobody has come up with such anticipating stuff before. Its great. I can’t wait to see who wins, and this sounds GREAT!!! i will surely go see this movie, and be ready to pack mysel with a LARGE drink and a SUPER LARGE popcorn for all the anticipation that is going to happen in this movie. Can’t wait for the next couple to come out. Even if you dont like action, or you dont like people fighting to the death, then all you need to do is pick up the book. These books are TERRIBLY hard to put away, and once you have finished the first PAGE they are terribly hard to put away. The first book took me 2 days to read, and i reccomend this book to Yr 7 8 9 10 11 and 12. Good luck reading this book, and Enjoy!

The Hunger Games Is an Amazing Book for me i like mostly every part not so much the first bit as it bored me a little but as soon as you get past that it is all action the characters were written delicately not so much in a way that each had a file that had traits but they were still good with feelings and emotions the twists were good and not predicable which is always great there was still adventure thrill and of course Romance 9/10 for me but how will it be decided until you read it.

i loved the twists and turns, the power that Katniss had when there no hope to be found. i did not dislike anything about this book and i would strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of thrill, action, romance and survival against all odds for all girls of SHC!

I absolutely love the hunger games series…but before i get into it…i would just like to give a shout out to my bffl, Maddie Meath, who recommended the series to me. Thanks Maddie! now back to the point. The hunger games is certainly not for anyone who doesn’t like action, romance, war and blood and stuff. because this is what the hunger games is about. i love this book because its the beginning of a fantastic series. the book is writhed my suzanne collins. she is a fantastic writer and in the book, she has heaps of detailed descriptions. i can see the pictures in my head like a film. the book is about a girl named katniss everdeen who’s name is pulled out of a hat to compete in “the hunger games” the objective of the hunger games is that you kill everyone and try to survive yourself. you are put in an arena and you have to fight to the death to win. you have 1 in 24 chance of winning because there are 24 people put into the hunger games. if you win, you are supplied with a rich house and all the food and stuff you want…(well…in the book people are kinda poor :S ) my favourite character would HAVE to be “cato” because he is portrayed by Alex Ludwin!!!! the film is coming out on 23rd of march this year by the way the hunger games is an absolutely GREAT book and i would recommend it to all of you at the school !!!! try it 🙂

The Hunger Games books are amazing! I got this book from a family friend and my parents literally had to pull me out of the chair because i couldnt stop reading it! I love how engaging the chapters are and how the author throws you into a whole other world full of adventure. I loved every minute of this book and once i finished it i wanted more! I’ve read the whole series and cant wait till the movie (march 2012)… If you are considering reading this book you defiantly should read it, you will be amazed! So let the Hunger Games begin!! If there’s one series that takes you to another world, it’s definitely The Hunger Games. Catching Fire follows up from the first book and the story is told from the eyes of the main character, Katniss. Katniss is a strong, determined character who is against the Capitol and its cruel ways of holding the annual Hunger Games where two tributes from each district are required to take part in a battle to the death. Katniss is a natural hunter but despite her tough character, she expresses a soft spot for her little sister, Prim, her mother and her close friends. I love the way this book is written to be so engaging and it gives a real insight to Katniss’ perspective on the whole system with the Capitol in charge of all 12 districts. In this book, many new discoveries are made, stimulating hundreds of question s to flood the reader’s mind and the events that occur often make you want to throw the book across the room as they move you so much. THE HUNGER GAMES
in the spotlight. i was absolutely stunned at how good the books were. ive read the whole series and i am dying for the movie to come out (March 2012)!!! you have to have it in!

The hunger games was amazing, utterly breathtaking and unputdownable. My mum had to take it away from me because i would not take my eyes of the book. I don’t think the book is gory or gross, i just thought it was great. As you probably know already its about a girl called Katnis who is forced to compete in the terrible, shocking game called the hunger game. the hunger game is a game where you basically have to kill or be killed. Katnis is from a poor family and aims to win the games and help her family, but accidentally befriends a boy who she must compete in the hunger games with, she finds herself in a lot of sticky situations, and she knows even if she does win, victory would not be sweet. I really thought with this book i was right there watching the action, and watching every move Katnis was making. I cant say what my favourite part or least favourite part is because that would give away too much. i recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of blood and gory, but don’t let this discourage you, it’s brilliant.

Hi everyone. I just finished reading The Hunger Games, and it is awesome! Here’s the storyline… The Capitol hosts a special TV show called the Hunger Games. 1 boy and 1 girl from each of the 12 districts to compete in the hunger games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed. 16 year old, Katniss Everdeen is a girl from district 12, and her smaller 12 year old sister, Prim, is chosen to compete in the hunger games. But Katniss cares for her sister and doesn’t want her to be killed, so Katniss steps forward instead. She is taken to the HUGE arena with the boy tribute, Peeta Mellark. Once they are thrown into the arena together with weapons, food and water, they must fend for themselves, and at the end, only one person can survive. So Katniss has to kill anyone she sees if she wants a chance to make it home! I would rate the book 9 and a half out of 10 because it got a tiny bit boring after a while, but then it jumped into action after the next few pages. I would recommend this book to boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 11,000 years old (he he he he) who like action, romance and killing. I finished the 450 page book in less than a week because I couldn’t stop reading!!!! You HAVE to read it!!!!!

The Hunger Games is an amazing book!!!! I loved every second of it and couldn’t put it down. The whole book was extremely well written and easy to read. I don’t usually enjoy the adventure, new age type books but this was an exception.
My favourite character was probably Peeta. He was so nice and likeable. He was always very funny and would do anything to help Katniss or anyone else.
The things that the characters went through were dangerous, difficult and sometimes impossible. Reading the book and seeing these character’s sense or courage is actually quite inspiring.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. There is quite a bit of fighting and some gruesome details but nothing too extreme. The overall storyline is a bit sad but also uplifting in places. I’d definitely rate this book a 9/10 😀

Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games is the first novel in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, followed by Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
I really loved this novel. At first I wasn’t so sure about it, since I was still fairly new to the dystopian sci-fi genre. But, I quickly found that it was a really enjoyable novel. The plot was really strong and once the usual introductions were over it was really easy to follow and get into.
My favourite characters include Katniss Everdeen, the narrator, as she is strong-willed and looks after those with-out a voice (literally and figuratively). My other favourite character would have to be Peeta, mostly for his cake decorating skills among other talents.
Although I’ve not yet been forced into an arena to fight to the death I can definitely relate to the characters and what they stand for, and I think most readers would agree that the themes aren’t too hard to grasp.
My least favourite part of the book was probably the end, not just because I had to put down the book, but because of what happens and what is said. (Although, this is a great finishing point to lead into Catching Fire.)
One thing I would change about the book is the character Gale. I’d just get rid of him because I think he complicates things. That is of course what makes things interesting, but since he can only shoot game and has no cake decorating skills what-so-ever (I like cake) he is of no use to me. Someone else can just have him!
I would most certainly recommend this book to others, but it can get a bit gory and violent so depending on how much you love physical combat (which I do) this might or might not be the book for you. I think it’s pretty safe to say though, that if you like The Mortal Instruments or love-dodecahedrons you would probably enjoy this book and this trilogy.

I have read about 5 chapters through this book and I am already sucked in. It is so far a whole lot of adventure.

I would recommend , the hunger games its a very exciting book. Its about 12 districts and a capital ( that is in control of the districts ) and every year to entertain the capital the a random boy and girl from each district have to fight in what is called the hunger games. Its a fantastic book and takes you to anther world ! I loved it so much that I am now waiting on the third book

I would Recommend the hunger games , this book is a fantastic book , it can get a bit gruesome but it is a good book. It has a bit of romance but also has some interesting and exciting parts of the book . Its about 12 districts and a Capitol that is in control of all of the districts and every year or so they have a hunger game where a girl and boy from each district have to fight to each others death and win. I love this book and I recommend it to 12+ . Its a great book and I strongly recommend it

The Hunger Games is a vicious and gruesome book where twelve districts battle against each other to the death. There is no way out of the huge arena and Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old girl, takes her younger sisters place and finds herself in the middle of these horrible games. But Katniss is no stranger to survival. Her home town is very poor and only four years ago her father died and she had to take over as the woman in charge. Her mother was depressed and unable to look after herself and her family. Katniss hunted every day and collected herbs for her family to live on. If Katniss can survive that, can she defend herself and destroy her enemies before it’s to late? This is a great book filled with romance, suspense, anger, hatred, pain and death. The characters are incredibly ferocious and then others are loving and kind. I recommend this great book for ages 13+

The story follows the Earth in the future, much altered, after a horrific war left only 14 isolated districts worth of people alive. A powerful district takes control and after a revolt of the other districts takes place, they created a horrible contest. Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl, steps in for her little sister and goes to battle in the games, designed to fight to the death as a reminder for the districts to never revolt again. An amazing book which is completely suspensful, filled with courage, love, deceit and rebellion. This is my favourite book!

The hunger games is a fantastic book about the twelve districts who must battle it out for, no prize, but their lives. Two children, a boy and girl get chosen from each district. When Katniss Everdeens sister gets chosen, she offers herself to go in her place. During the games she and Peeter, the other contestent from her district, put on an act as if they are in love only, is Peeter pretending?

I love the Hunger Games! It is a really good book! It’s a bit gruesome in some places but it’s good! It’s even better than Twilight (Which is really bad)

I loved this book!! It was a wonderful blend of ancient Roman gladiators and Survivor which had me hooked from the start. At times the story was a bit gruesome but it was action packed and full of adventure with great characters. Can’t wait to read the sequel.

I was roaming the shc blogs the other day trying to find a great recomended book, and i stumbled upon this one so almost a week ago i was in borders and decided and follow up this book The Hunger Games, i bought it, and have been reading it ever since. It is one of the best books i have read ! i’m hooked on it as if i was a vampire drinking human blood ! it is full of contant suspense and at night after i have read a chapter or two and go to sleep i just can’t stop thinking about it! it makes me paranoid that the reaping is near for me haha !
this is a great quality book, it has a great storyline but i would recomend it to the ages of around 11 and up.

I’m not sure if the LINC has this book but if you don’t PLEASE get it it’s a great book.
It’s called The Hunger Games.
If you like Twilight, you would like this book. It is my second favourits book after the Warriors saga.
