The Land of Stories: Wishing Spell.
A great twist to old fairy tales!
Alex and her brother Conner have been given an emerald green fairy tale book from their Grandma……..This is not just any fairy tale book. Soon they find themselves in an unrecognisable world, lost and confused.
What is this place? Who lives here? Who are these people Will they get out?
For Alex and Conner have found themselves on a scavenger hunt around these foreign lands, they need to find all the iconic items from the common fairy tales that we know, because they will need them if they are to have any chance of hopefully returning back home.
Along the journey Alex and Conner meet the Princes and Princesses and all the Fairy Flocks years after their stories have been told and they see how their lives have changed and what is happening in their life now. Did they all live Happily Ever After…..
I give this book a 8 out of 10 and recommend this book for anyone looking for an adventure.

I highly recommend this book to 8 – 12 year olds, who enjoy fantasy, action & adventure! Within the first few days of reading this book, I couldn’t-put the book down! It is the first adventure of four other books in the series! ( that I cant wait to read )

One thing I honestly, not a fan of is the fact it is a very long book! I am not a fan of a long book but this book is worth anything!

  3. The land of stories is a great series and I loved it. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The books are nice and long but if you loved them enough (like me) you’ll get through them really quick if you want to find out what happens. If you read the blurb and think these books will sound all magical and fantasy, you are mistaken’. It’s about adventure and action. It is actually a really good series about a boy and a girl-Conner and Alex who are both very different from each other apart from their looks. Alex the smart, sensible one and Conner the non sensible, one who struggles at school. And then their grandmother gives them a special book. A book that will change their lives for ever.

It is a great series and you will love it if you read it. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will be in great suspense if your waiting to get the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book to people under the age of 13/14. I rate it a 9/10!

The Land of stories is such a great series and the first book is just the beginning of all of the amazing adventures that they have. Alex and Conner Bailey are twins that are complete opposites other then their similar looks. Alex the smart logical thinker and top of the class and Conner the boy at the back of the class that is always asleep. Their life is pretty normal until they discover a secret that their grandmother has been keeping from them.

This series keeps you on the edge of your seat and just leaves you breathless and wanting to read more. If you love fantasy and adventure then this book is for you. This would have to be one of my favourite series of all time. I give it a 10/10!!!

  5. The Land of Stories: the Wishing Spell was probably one of the best stories I’ve ever read. This magical book is the first of an amazing chronicle of four the Land of Stories. My favourite part of this book is when the main characters, Alex and Conner Bailey fall into the Land of Stories, and meet Froggy, a mythical frog creature, because it is where a lot of the magic truth is unveiled. If I could change anything about the story, I would make it that it said a little more about some of the princesses, like Princess Rapunzel. I recommend this book as a must read, to girls and boys who love reading about made up lands, magical creatures, and everything else fantasy.

  6. I recommend ‘The Land of Stories’ series, by Chris Colfer off Glee, there is four books out right now, and there my absolute favourites. Its about the Bailey twins, Alex and Conner, Alex who is a goody two shoes, who gets straight A’s in everything, not to mention she’s her teachers favourite by far. Conner, a mischievous boy with a talent for writing about there adventures. They lead a normal life, until their father was in a car crash and passed away when they were eleven. After a year of renting houses, their grandmother gives them a book, a book which has many surprises…

And thats all I’m gonna say, if you are interested, I completely recommend it! It has a great storyline and amazing sequels. Its a fantasy book, with fairytales, and its a great novel. The books are about 550 pages long each, but you get through them in the blink of an eye!!
