The blog for books and movies

https://i0.wp.com/covers.booktopia.com.au/big/9780142410349/fantastic-mr-fox.jpgAt night, Mr Fox steals chickens, ducks, and turkeys from three mean, stinky and wealthy farmers — Boggis, Bunce and Bean — in order to feed his family. The farmers are fed up with this and try everything to kill him. One night they wait outside his foxhole in an attempt to ambush him. When Mr Fox emerges from his home, they fire at him but only succeed in blowing off his tail.

Determined to catch him, the farmers use spades and shovels to dig their way into the foxes’ home, but Mr and Mrs Fox and their four children dig a tunnel deeper into the ground and manage to escape. The farmers even resort to using bulldozers in order to dig deeper into the ground, but to no avail.

The three men therefore decide to play a waiting game, keeping watch on the entrance to the tunnel with shotguns at the ready, while their men patrol the area to make sure the foxes don’t escape.

“Fantastic Mr Fox” written by Roald Dahl is one of my old favourites, which I would highly recommend. I first read this book when I was seven and have also seen the movie. I still remember so much about this book and I greatly enjoyed every moment of reading it. It is a wonderful story about a family of six foxes and their amazing adventures. There is rivalry between the foxes and three nasty and wealthy farmers, Boggis Bunce and Bean. Mr Foxes family of six includes the cleaver, skilled and talented Mr Fox, his wife Mrs Fox and their four young children. These farmers live close to where the foxes are and this causes trouble when it comes to food. Boggis is an owner of an enormous chicken farm, where he raises thousands of chickens. Boggis is very obese and eats up to three chickens per day! As well as buckets and large amounts of dumplings. Bunce is also an antagonist of Mr Fox and his family. Bunce is an owner of another farm, selling ducks and geese. Bunce is very short and also over weight. Bean is also a nemesis of Mr Fox and owns a farm of turkeys and apples. Bean is very tall and slender. Boggis, Bunce and Bean team up against Mr Fox and his family of six, which leads to devastating issues. Mr Fox, Mrs Fox and their children end up on the run from the farmers. I loved reading this book as it contains loads of excitement, thrill and adventure. My favourite characters in the book are the four little foxes because they are very small and cute! My favourite part when the family is on the run and the farmers are thoroughly searching for them. Roald Dahl used loads of imagination when writing this and was very creative. “Fantastic Mr Fox” is an amazing and exciting book with thrill and adventure. I would recommend this book for children aged 7-12 and you will most definitely enjoy reading it. I would rate this book a 9/10!

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a brilliant book its one of my childhood favourites. I love the way Mr Fox confuses the 3 farmers each night to steal food for his family. I like Mr Fox for his cunningness and brilliance. The 3 farmers know perfectly well what’s going on, and they are determined to stop it. The farmers thought that it would be all that easy! ‘ Its just a stupid fox, it cant out smart us’ they thought but Mr. Fox proved them wrong! Read the book or watch the movie and you’ll sure be sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the whole story!

I recommend this story for those who like a fun filled adventure! I would definitely rate this a 8 out of 10. Such a fantastic book!

I love Roald Dahl’s books. They’re so beautifully written. He’s a marvellous storyteller.
I especially like the limerick about Boggis, Bunce and Bean. In fact, I love the idea of three vastly different men coming together to try and kill a fox (Although I do feel sorry for the poor foxes. They had a happily ever after though 🙂 )
If you’re fond of classic, this book is for you.

  14. This book is really funny, and makes you actually laugh out loud!
It is a humorous book about a fox called Mr Fox. Every night, he goes out of his hole to steal food for his family. He steals it from 3 farmers, Boggis Bunce and Bean.
“Boggis, Bunce and Bean, one fat, one short, one lean. These horrible crooks so different in looks were nonetheless equally mean.” The children used to sing.

The 3 farmers know perfectly well what’s going on, and they are determined to stop it. But that doesn’t prove easy. One night they wait outside the entrance to Mr Fox’s hole with shotguns, determined to silence Mr Fox once and for all, but Mr Fox is smart. He comes up with an idea. It is truly an amazing idea.
I am not going to tell you, you must read the book and find out!

I recomend this book by roald dahl because it was a good read.It is about three farmers and Mr fox. “Mr. Fox came into the three farmers’ farms and stole their chickens and geese on a daily basis. He took it to his home and fed his wife and three cubs. But soon, problems arose. The food was starting to run short everyday. The food that was brought everyday wasn’t enough to satisfy everyone’s hunger. Other families and individual animals were facing similar problems. To add to their problems, the three farmers were getting more determined to get rid of Mr. Fox and all the other troublemakers. this is a great book!

  28. I recommend the book ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ written by Roald Dahl. it is a humerous story about three nasty farmers named Boggis, Bunce and Bean who absoultly hate Mr Fox. Mr fox and his family live in a hole and supply their food from the three farmers farms. One day they just can’t put up with Mr Fox no longer taking their food. So they lie in outside his hole, each one with a gun, hiding, ready to shoot. they also thought if he knows they’re there he won’t come out, therefore him and his family will starve to death then leaving the farmers with a hassle free farm. but it was not as easy as they thought because clever, handsome Mr Fox has other plans that will out smart the three big meanies!!!!!!! ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ is a great book for kids with fantastic illustrations by Tony ross. The clever little plans Mr Fox think of are just ingenius and really make you want to know how Roald Dahl thought of them. this is a great book and i rate it 8/10.
