The blog for books and movies

Choose to lie…or choose to die.

In a discontent kingdom, civil war is brewing. To unify the divided people, Conner, a nobleman of the court, devises a cunning plan to find an impersonator of the king’s long-lost son and install him as a puppet prince. Four orphans are recruited to compete for the role, including a defiant boy named Sage. Sage knows that Conner’s motives are more than questionable, yet his life balances on a sword’s point — he must be chosen to play the prince or he will certainly be killed. But Sage’s rivals have their own agendas as well.

As Sage moves from a rundown orphanage to Conner’s sumptuous palace, layer upon layer of treachery and deceit unfold, until finally, a truth is revealed that, in the end, may very well prove more dangerous than all of the lies taken together.

This is the best book I have ever read!! The absolute best!! There are so many things I loved reading about in this book, but the things that really stood out to me where the mystery and the characters. The book is full of action, adventure, even a little bit of romance but what made me keep turing the page, was the mystery and clues in the book!! All throughout the book there are little twist and turns that you never see coming! The author Jennifer Nielson has thought really deeply about the book and when to add clues and where to add them. At the end of the book there is a massive twist in the plot, that will leave you so surprised! Even though there are clues, you never see it coming! The other thing that I really loved was the characters, they were all so different and all so well thought out! My favourite character is Sage, its really hard to not love him! He is witty, clever and most of all sarcastic. These traits make you laugh most of the time his characters talks. No matter how hard you try, you will always smile at Sage. There are also some other characters that add to the book, such as Conner, the character some would call a villain and others would call a hero, but no matter what you think of him, you have to admire his quick thinking and plan making! I couldn’t put the book down as soon as I had read the first line!! 10/10 isn’t even a good enough rating, its so so great, the rating is more like 1million/10!! I highly, in fact super highly, recommend this book to anyone 11+!!!!!!!

  3. This book was so awesome! I LOVED it!!

What really was so good about it, was the main character Sage. He was so sarcastic, and I’d never read a book quite like it. He was so witty and always had a clever comeback, which usually got him into trouble.
Sage is taken away from his orphanage, by a complete stranger. He finds himself with 3 other boys. He is told he needs to impersonate the missing prince of the country, for his captors own greedy needs. He trains with the others, to try and become like the missing prince. Only one will be chosen, who will it be? Yet, even though there are heaps of hints, the ending was still a major surprise for me! An awesome end to an awesome book, I seriously recommend this book! I give it 9/10!

The book is the best book eeeevvvvvveeerrrrr! I think? Ohh well! I still love it! It has sooo much action and adventure! I love the character Jennifer portrayed in this story, he was sassy, funny and very different. So much leads to a simple moment the big reveal but of course it’s not quite anticipated. It has so many clues but it, for me, was inconclusive, so I never saw the ending coming! This is the book that made me want to learn how to roll a coin over my knuckles!
