The blog for books and movies

Matty has lived in Village and flourished under the guidance of Seer, a blind man known for his special sight. Village once welcomed newcomers, but something sinister has seeped into Village and the people have voted to close it to outsiders. Matty has been invaluable as a messenger. Now he must risk everything to make one last journey through the treacherous forest with his only weapon, a power he unexpectedly discovers within himself.

  1. Messenger, is probably my favourite of the all four books in the Giver series because it includes characters from the other books as well as some new ones so it is easier to see how all the books are connected. My favourite part of the book is when the main character, Matty goes into his old village to find his friend, Kira and they go into the forest together. I like this part because it leaves you feeling intrigued, wondering what they might have to face to make their way through the rapidly growing forest. My favourite character was Matty because he uses his special power of healing to help other people in need rather than using it on himself. This shows how much he cares for the other people in his community. I would recommend this book to anyone who had read the first two books of the Giver series and was ready for some more adventure.
